We really enjoyed our lunch at The Hideout. The service was excellent and the food as well. I would, however, prefer the music volume be toned down (consider Miles Davis).
A lot of effort was taken in the listing to disguise the fact that this is a restaurant inside the W Hotel. Diners basically are arranged around the hotel pool. The prices are aimed high, at the captive audience of hotel guests. There’s no brunch menu, so bookings should not be taken for 11a, which is an inappropriate time to present a lunch menu.
The staff were excellent, though access for a stroller was an episode of American Ninja Warrior, requiring two people. I would imagine impossible if you were using a wheelchair. Food was good.
It took 20 minutes for someone to help me only after i said something to a male yesterday morning. The server didn't actually come until after my food came out about 10 minutes later, and the drink came out with food. Also there was a party that was sat 10 minutes after me that was helped and acknowledged before me. Very disappointing.
The timing was perfect! The Hideout had a great deal on the cocktails.
Just thought the service coulda of been little better .
Great food, at W Hotel type prices. Great servers (Hi, Felix!) and overall a nice place to grab a bite outside and away from the hustle bustle.
decent food and drinkns at high prices. Granted it is a hotel so it is to be expected. Still I had higher expectations and left feeling unsatisfied with the experience. The outdoor space is nice and it feels good to be by a hotel pool with a resort feel for lunch... but there are countless other places in LA that have the same feel, better food, and better value
Valet parking, when arriving, had up sign that stated Valet parking for Hotel guests only. Parking in neighborhood is sparse and permitted.
Location is near pool, and tough for mobility impared.
I know, these are major hotel issues and not the restaurant, but both effect the diner. Everyone around seemed to be enjoying food and location, and i felt very Covid safe.
Service was extremely slow.
I would expect excellent food and excellent service. Neither was the case. Will go back again.
Great for Sunday brunch! Staff was great and all safe.
A great place for a relaxing Sunday meal. Really enjoyed it!
Loved this placed, everything was excellent from the food to the service.
A wonderful place and great service. Food was delicious, fresh shrimp, great salads and Burrata. Very good wine selection too. Great location and ambiance and very safe during Covid
Beautiful setting, great menu, great food and excellent service
Amazing! Love everything about the hideout 💕 celebrated a special day and they brought out the best dessert to celebrate us!
Thank you 😊
Our waiter was very rude
Great service. Only one server and he was working the bar but he was super present and great guy.
Can’t beat the outdoor ambience !
Amazing, definitely recommend!
Great service and environment. Very professional in handling covid regulations.
This was our first time eating at The Hideout, and it was terrific! We will definitely be returning. We enjoyed the tiger prawn salad and the lobster BLT in particular. Delicious! Our waiter was on top of everything, and he even caught a slight mix-up in the order just before it was set down on our table. He took care of it, and there were no problems! This is a hidden gem in Westwood.
Sunday brunch next to the natural fountain was the perfect spot for five friends to meet. Unlimited mimosas and bloody Mary’s combined with good comfort food made the day. Nicely done.
The setting was lovely, the food was tasty, but the service was so bad that I really can't recommend The Hideout. I would expect after paying $6 for a cup of coffee that they would at least offer a refill. We waited 20 minutes to be offered a beverage at all, after which time we insisted that our lunch order be taken as we had theater tickets. Mind you, we have 95 minutes, but things weren't sizing up well. The food took an average amount of time to be brought to the table by other servers. We chased down our waiter for the bill, or we wouldn't have seen him again at all. I observed that people around us had somewhat better service, but nothing I could describe as attentive.
I wanted a venue that was a little more special than the traditional Westwood fair. The ambience is exceptional and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. I love that we have this little oasis to celebrate special occasions.
Nice place for a quiet outside dining experience. Omellette was terrible - but the french toast was outstanding! Drinks were good. Very pleasant lunch.
Meeting a friend
Lovely outdoor space goo was very good as were the custom cocktails. Lovely service as well
Food is subpar at best. Nothing arrives even lukewarm it appears kitchen is in another area code. Taste is borderline awful.
Great food and service. Really enjoyed our meal and would definitely eat there again
The restaurant was outside next to the pool area - a perfect spot for an evening summer bite. The burger was terrific. I inhaled it. My husband had an excellent Cobb salad. The wait staff was friendly and attentive.
Menu was very boring! The Bar Happy hour menu was way more creative but you have to be at the 5 seats at the Bar to use the menu. We ordered Shrimp Cocktail and the ice melted, lol. So it just sat in water....
Lovely setting by the pool. Very casual. Excellent lobster BLT. Limited and pricey wine list.
Our server wasn't very attentive. He did not check on our meal and needed to be flagged down to get the check.
Celebrating UCLA graduation!
Lunch by the pool is always nice. Good portion sizes for food. Drinks are tasty. The waitresses never check on table enough, which is why a star was docked.
I started with a shrimp cocktail The shrimp looked and smelled old; there was a slight tan color around the edges (freezer burn?) and a slight fishy smell. One of the four shrimp was not deviened.
Then I had the burger and fries. The burger was mediocre. The fries had a seasoning I'd never tasted before; not bad, not good, but different.
The wine was good.
Overall eveerything was overpriced.
First of all, this is just a sitting area by the pool of the W Hotel.
Service is just ok! And if you have physical issues, as in difficulty with stairs, the only way to access The Hideout is by stairs, or apparently there is a garden ramp way, but apparently it’s too long of a way. Anyway, not impressed at all, the salad that came with “The Chilaquiles” was wilted and it tasted awful! Overall a pretty dissatisfied experience! Except for John/ Valet, who was kind enough to ask me if he could help me, after standing by the front check in desk, for over 10 mins, he showed me the way to the Restaurant, and that was worth the otherwise disappointed experience, at least there is one kind person there!
This restaurant is currently closed for renovation (Jan 2019). Do not book.
Didn’t realize it was outdoors only and it was really cold. We didn’t like the menu choices either so we left and just had a snack prior to our Geffen Theater show.
