Honey Fried Chicken
smashed potato, sauteed kale, onion marmalade & truffle honey
We had the Brussel sprouts and chicken potpie. Both were very delicious. Our server Sasha was attentive. Overall, a wonderful experience. Will definite come back if in the area again.
We jointly celebrated mine and my mother-in-laws birthdays. Our waitress was so amazing! So attentive, so friendly. We really appreciated the great service and the food was great too!
Awesome food, service and overall experience. And what a treat to meet the owner (JB). Will be back many times!
The Outlook is a hidden gem. The food is outstanding and the setting great.
I brought three friends there for the first time and they all raved about the experience and the food.
Only 2 servers, but lots of runners. Arrived early - very early for our reservation, and we were seated with a short wait. Fall menu items are fantastic. Add chicken to pasta puttanesca - for a hack!
Excellent food and service. Lovely outdoor, heated, patio … make for a perfect late evening meal.
Food is excellent. Every. Single. Time. We really enjoyed the fall menu items: French onion soup. Short rib stew. Chicken pot pie. The flourless brownie is a must!
Service has a casual approach, but a professional execution.
If you have not been, you must go. The weekend brunch is worth the wait.
Dined here several times and always a wonderful meal! Thank you for making this birthday celebration absolutely perfect!
Fresh, quality ingredients, cooked to perfection and served by a great staff. It's a special place for a relaxing, delicious dinner.
I had the mussels and clams, the mussels were sweet and yummy. The balance of the lemon, garlic, wine fantastic. There was a hint of red pepper. My 93 yr old mom, I say her age because I think her taste buds are whack, had the linguine and clams. She kept putting salt, pepper and Tapatio sauce on it. She didn't feel the flavors permeated well. We also got the arugula and mushroom flatbread. I would've liked more garlic and kick to it. I wanted it to pair it with the clams and mussels broth, but the crust didn't soak up the broth. I kind of used it like a spoon. My dish came with bread. I didn't know it would or I wouldn't have ordered the flat bread. Oh well my mom enjoyed it. We had the chocolate cake with miso caramel sauce. It was too sweet for us. It has 3 layers of chocolate cake, custard filling topped with the caramel sauce, pretzel crumb and whip cream. It was a nice cake just to much after all we ate.
I know from a previous visit that their drinks are great too.
The food at The Hideout is consistently delicious. They must have great chefs. Had a veggie medly with the swordwish that was outstanding. Dessert was to die for. The wine selection is great as well. The ambience is perfect indoor or outdoor. Also, we have ordered take out from The Hideout, and have found this is about the only restaurant that the food is just as delicious at home. Their food travels well.
This is a favorite go to because we know it’s going to be good.
Great food and drinks! Our server was sweet as can be and gave excellent recommendations on what to order.
We’re regulars at Hideout. Consistent service and food. Outdoor patio dining is great. Music could be lower!!
The Hideout is a wonderful café And our experience last night was just great. Wonderful indoor atmosphere and lighting, The food was excellent. And our server was extremely professional, excellent, and friendly.
The only negative that I would let you know about is when we turned to look outside on your delightful patio after dark, we saw that it was extremely brghtly lit
Much too bright for the ambience needed for a great patio Dining experience on a warm summer night.
I think it might be as simple as reducing the number of patio lights that you have on… Of course dimmers would be great… But it was simply much too bright ….
Thanks again, Kate Cole
The food was overpriced, small portions. The flavor was jus okay. I should have given a higher rating for the service. Waitress was fine but not too friendly. The other service was excellent.
Food came out very late. Server and bartender arguing about and religion at the bar in front of customers.
Someone brought their dog and were sat inside the restaurant when they should be sat outside -gross!
Our waiter was the WORST. He was Inattentive and clearly wasn’t busy. We saw him “hanging” in the bar. Throughout the dinner.
We always enjoy dining at the Hideout in Lafayette. The food is fantastic and the service is the best!!
I’ve always loved The Hideout Kitchen. I’ve eaten here with family, friends and coworkers pre-pandemic and I am happy to see that they are back in business. Food is delicious, portion is generous and service is impeccable!
Loved all of it. Excellent food and wonderful outdoor space. Hearty portions good value! Can’t wait to return.
Food was really good. However, we sat outside which was nice except for the very uncomfortable metal table and chairs.
Delicious dinners, excellent service and comfortable atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
I the meals and presentation were amazing. I can't wait to go back. Our server Lexy is always very helpful and sweet.
Food was delicious. All four of us ordered different entrees and all enjoyed very much. Portions are very large - so you might have lunch the next day as well.
Known for their fried chicken (with honey) and it didn't disappoint.
A party of three was seated at the most uncomfortable, wobbly table and chairs. We requested outdoors because of Covid. Second time we have been seated at the same wobbly table and uncomfortable metal chairs. If you go, request the comfy chairs and nice bug table.
Great Kale and Pancetta salad. Ordered with the salmon. Delicious!
Superb! Very friendly environment and staff!
Had a wonderful dinner with my favorite Girls: daughters and granddaughter. I had the Shrimp n Grits; the gang had the Fried Chicken, Pork Chops/Brussel Sprouts and the Buttered Noodles. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The drinks were delicious as well. Only my Granddaughter and I had dessert: Peach cheese cake and the Churro waffles, both were pretty tasty. We definitely will return !
This is an absolute favorite restaurant of mine! They cannot do anything wrong. Wonderful food!
Truly a hideaway — lovely quiet atmosphere outside and cozy inside. Especially kind wait staff.
We had there special - sword fish and a wedge salad, which was EXCELLENT fish was cooked to perfection and I was served on a bed of vegetable which was a good as the fish. If you haven’t eaten at The Hideout Kitchen you haven’t lived. We have to go back again soon since we wanted there honey fried chicken. Great value as well and our servers were wonderful.
The hide Out kitchen
Experience was super good
From the food, environment, the best waitress they super kind and know to give you the best experience and also to know what to recommend.
Excellent meal of roasted brussel sprouts and swordfish on very flavorful bed of succotash, with a lovely glass of wine. Only drawback was the Old Fashioned - kind of watery and with not very good whiskey. Maybe it's best to go for beer or wine? Everything else was wonderful!
Wonderful dinner. Amazing waitress Ariah was super friendly, super polite and just made the dinner so much more awesome. Will be back soon.
Lovely little spot- hidden on Mt Diablo- wonderful service- delicious choices- generous portions. A great value
Delicious and interesting food, washed down with great wine. Served promptly and fresh from the kitchen. Nice outdoor dining space.
Nice but was rushed out Bc others were waiting
The main entrées where very good! The salad was good, but to much dressing. Mussels and clams where not that good. Service was excellent. The restaurant was a cool place.
Awesome food! Will be back!!!
