Coq au vin was really just baked chicken. It is supposed to be a stew. The skimpy sauce was tasteless. Look up recipes for this dish to see how it is made.
Food and drinks very good and seemingly very fresh. Our waitress was extremely attentive and the staff even went out of their way to accommodate dietary restrictions for me and my friend (gluten and dairy-free). Sat at a table in the middle and felt fully apart of the restaurant but also able to have personal conversations easily. Wonderful find.
We had a great, leisurely dinner - we sat and talked for hours, and our servers were extremely gracious and didn’t rush us at all.
A neighborhood gem. A bit pricier than its neighbors, but the food does not dissapoint.
Everything great. Service gets a bit diminished as they get closer to close time.
Went with friends for brunch - will have to return for dinner. Get the doubles!
Very limited menu and very pricey. Food and service were good but overall not a good value. Review the menu on line prior to going to ensure you like the limited options.
A very disappointing meal, food took a very long time and was not cooked through
Amazing dining experience. A great time to be had in Forest Park. Looking forward to returning.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was inviting.
Service was friendly, and attentive, although I feel there were some missed opportunities.
They didn't share the happy hour menu with us until I asked about the sign outside.
Overall, a very nice experience.
I can’t really comment on noise level, because we were almost the only customers.
They have one of the most interesting and tasty brunch menus I’ve seen.
Service was fair at best. Long time at table before server came by, long wait for food. VERY small portions of good food, went home hungry.
Enjoyed a lovely, relaxing brunch. Drinks and food were wonderful.
The server seemed rushed and annoyed. Never acknowledged the special occasion, did not highlight any menu items. Food and atmosphere is always amazing.
The food was amazing and the service was even better.
It’s always a great experience when I visit The Heritage. Best cocktails, exquisite food and the staff is friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend. ~Maria
Everything was fantastic! The food was delicious from start to finish. The chicken and honey pie are a must. The only complaint was the noise level. Very loud and hard to have a conversation.
I went for brunch with 3 friends. I hadn't been there in about a year. The service was slow and one of the of the orders got messed up because the burger wasn't cooked to specifications. We were finished when my friend finally got her meal which she ended up getting to go. The waiter wasn't attentive at all and we tipped accordingly. Something may have changed since my first time there last year. Or maybe they were just having a bad day. I don't plan to go back.
Always a great experience. Chef does superb job. Love it.
We like this place a lot, however, if you have a couple cocktails it can get pricey pretty quickly. Group of 5 with bill over $300. Sometimes tough to have a conversation when it gets loud. Seems to do pretty well as all tables were full on a Thursday night. Nice to have in the neighborhood, but, at the cost...will only choose for special occasions.
This was a joyous experience with two birthdays to celebrate! Two of us arrived early and sat at the bar for cocktails, which were delicious! We ordered oysters— and this is the only criticism — I could have sworn they were on the menu at $2 each, and we were charged $4 each, a fact I didn’t notice until I got the electronic receipt. Other than that, we ordered a variety of menu items, both small and large plates plus birthday desserts, and all the food was delectable, beautifully prepared and presented. Service was attentive and fun, without interfering in our conversation. Altogether a winner. We will definitely go again!
Great and unique menu with an excellent wine list and cocktail list to match!
Great spot for Sunday brunch- tasty Bloody Mary with mustard seeds. and a nice menu. We enjoyed the smoked salmon toast and the omelette.
One of my favorite places in Oak Park/Forest Park. Great food, great drinks and surprisingly well priced for the quality.
Food was great and our server seemed friendly and competent, but the food took an extremely long time to come out from the time we ordered.
We like coming here, but the affogato dessert was disappointing this time because they ran out of the right kind of cookies for it. They substituted another cookie but it was not the best. Should have just cancelled the dessert.
Every time I eat at The Heritage , my experience is outstanding. Love the food, ambiance, and service. Keep up the amazing work.
They didn’t have my Open Table reservation, which was my only complaint and may not even be an issue on their end. Though I heard the host tell two other parties he did not have their reservation. They had space, the food was excellent and service great.
Great brunch! Had the Boursin and mushroom omelet and smoked salmon toast with a side of crispy potatoes. All were delicious and we will definitely be back! Can’t beat the ambiance. It feels like we’re back in Prague!
