We tried this restaurant after receiving a gift certificate while on vacation in Sedona. Everything from the appetizers to the main courses were all excellent, and the service was fantastic! I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I do have to say it was a little difficult to see, as they definitely need more lighting outside...it is a hidden gem in Sedona!

The ambiance was nice and the food was good. When the asparagus soup ended up being spicy they were quick to make up for not informing the guest.

Food was excellent, wine was a generous pour. There was a small child in restaurant that we were seated by. (Should have set new diners away). We got up and changed tables ourselves, and then all was fine.
Grilled lamb chops heavenly and pecan crusted rainbow trout fabulous. We were very happy with our meals.

Food was excellent. Server was very pleasant and had a friendly smile. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The price was no more than many other places we ate at in Sedona.

A sad evening. We were the only dinners in the restaurant. Heartline badly needs a renovation - physical space, menu and service standards.

We have been to the Sedona area over the last 30 years. The Heartline was always our go to place. Very disappointed this trip. We asked for the steak rare, it was well done. When you are dining with another, to send it back does not work. The drink I ordered was very weak, I'm wondering if there was any vodka at all. We knew there was an issue when the waitperson asked us to pay in cash, with a discount offered. Very disappointed.

This was our third visit to Heartline Cafe. The food was excellent every time. However, on the two most recent occasions, menu items we wanted were not available. This last time, we were offered a discount as compensation.

What a disaster of a Mother's Day brunch. With the large amount of people inside the restaurant, the location of the buffet line and the table arraignment, I'm surprised Sedona Fire Department didn't come in and shut the place down for over occupancy and egress issues. Parking was a debacle, watched 2 vehicles almost get hit while they were backing onto 89A when there was no parking, the girl serving at the buffet table had no idea what she was doing, they ran out of plates and adult beverages, and the quiche was inedible...way too salty. Couple next to us comment that his hypertension rose significantly after one bite due to the salt. The entire meal was nothing more than an over priced Denny's breakfast.....$18 for eggs, bacon, inedible quiche, cold sliced ham, but all the donuts and cookies you can eat....most expensive donut my 9 year old ever ate.

Do yourself and your mother a favor next year and just take her out to McDonalds. Better quality food and 1/4 the price.

This is a very difficult review for me to write as this has been one of my favorite, go-to restaurants for several years, however, my last two experiences were way below par. This year it was particularly unsatisfactory. My husband ordered rack of lamb rare and the first time it was brought it was more than well done, the second time it was just well done and the third time it was medium. The strange thing was the lady at the table next to ours had a beautiful portion and it was rare. For some reason the kitchen just couldn't get this order right. The menu has lost it's oomph and overall it was just disappointing. I will say that the waitress (who appeared to be the only server) tried very hard and was really pleasant and helpful. She was as frustrated as we were!

Rainy night and we were about the only ones in the restaurant. The food was very good, flavorful and well prepared and presented with a number of things to choose from. Our service was very friendly and knowledgeable but our appetizer order overlooked and not delivered as a result we received an complementary desert with is was very good and very original.

We have been to the Heartline Cafe three time in the past 10 years. We go their for special occasions. This visit was pleasant and we primed to be happy, someone would have to try pretty hard to mess up this night. My wife had the pecan crusted rainbow trout and I had the pastachio chicken. We shared a bottle of a Malbec Argentinian wine. My wife always is first to never have the same entree twice except when we go to Heartline Cafe. She has never ordered anything but the pecan crusted rainbow trout. I am forced to experiment so she can have her fish and try other items on the menu.

Minor complaint; we were about finished with our salad when our bottle of wine showed up. We had to grab one of the employees and make an inquiry then the bottle of wine was promptly brought to the table already uncorked. We poured the first glass of wine. We are not much for formalities but the table next to us had a much different wine experience.

We had a great time!

Not very attentive at first after being seated, but that soon changed and service was very friendly and good. Clean, cozy, and a very nice ambiance especially for dinner conversation.
We're vegetarian and there weren't but a couple of 'foodie' selections in that department although I'm sure they would be happy to tweak any of the recipes. Without a bigger selection we will probably return only occasionally. We also thought it would be nice to have a sparkling wine or procesco offered by the glass and more other wine varieties by the glass as well on their drink menu. A very nice selection of wines though. Between the 2 of us we ordered a hummus plate (generous size) to share and each had the grilled veggies in a light wasabi sauce over rice. Perfect sized portion for moderate eaters and very tasty. After a glass of Cartena Padrillo Malbec Reserve 2014 we were very satisfied and skipped dessert....this time. We came here on a recommendation and would recommend it as well.

Christmas day dinner was good. Nothing noteworthy, though the butternut squash pear soup was very tasty. Service was friendly. Wines plentiful and reasonably priced given Sedona. By the way, bartender was lovely, sharp and our mixed drink specials were terrific.

We visited on Xmas evening, so had a prix fixe menu to choose from. The soup and salad options were lovely (though my husband was NOT a fan of the soup and sadly there were no other choices), as were the cocktails & wine, however the entree left something to be desired. We both had the prime rib and our cuts were mostly fat and the meat itself was quite tough. The service we received was only OK in my opinion, but I did see another server taking better care of her tables, so sadly that was just the luck of the draw receiving the not-as-attentive or -friendly server. Overall, I would say it was a decent experience, but doesn't have me wanting to run back for another visit. That said, I would give it another try not on a holiday, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Having read other (often glowing) reviews of Heartline Cafe, I was really looking forward to a nice Thanksgiving supper. While the atmosphere was lovely, I was completely underwhelmed by the service and the food.

I understand that some of this may be due, in part, to the nature of holiday dining off a fixed menu, but my trout and my husband's turkey were both served lukewarm and in an ill-timed manner (long lags between service checks). Our waitress was friendly, when she was there, but her visits were so infrequent as to leave me wondering whether she was, in fact, our assigned server -- and I had to request water refills multiple times from other servers passing through. Add to this the fact that the dessert (pumpkin cheesecake) seemed as though it came straight from a Costco or Sam's Club box to the plate (complete with wax paper dividers), and the whole dining experience was a bit of a dissapointment.

Perhaps our experience would have been better under different (non-holiday) circumstances, but I'll conclude by stating that I wouldn't be in a rush to visit Heartline again in a hurry.

The Thanksgiving meal was bland. The only item that had any significant flavor was the turkey dressing. We had to keep asking for items that were missing from our table. The waitress didn't really want to be there, and she outright LIED about the pumpkin cheesecake not being available.

She gave the same attention to all her tables. We'd come back just to set in her area. Superb employee!

Our food choices were excellent, but the service was a bit "off." M got the order wrong, and I believe we were overcharged for our meal. My husband didn't give the bill a close enough look before he paid for it, but later that night I did the math in my head, and there was no way what we ordered added up to the final bill - even with the higher tax rate in Sedona. I loved the fresh ingredients. The basic house salad was excellent, as was the pear and butternut squash soup. I loved the food, but it just felt like we were either ignored (in the beginning, for too long) and then almost nagged about our choices (throughout the meal). I just didn't feel comfortable about the service, but I highly recommend the menu and the quaint atmosphere of the restaurant.

We ordered 5 items total among the three of us. We were over charged for 3 items on the bill due to a "mistake." Prime ribs were not cooked to order, neither was the $16 Hamburger. It was over cooked and dry, honestly I've had better at In and Out burger for fraction of the cost. We do not recommend this restaurant.

Went to this place on vacation...overrated . Some of the mistakes were
- strawberry in my Manhattan instead of a cherry
- the seafood only pasta had bacon; my daughter who I only eats seafood couldn't eat
- replacement meal of trout had hair in it
- pork was over cooked

Upside was the waitress was funny, they removed the meals in error & brought out the replacement meal quickly.
