Nice restaurant but pricy which i guess is par for a resort area. Food was fine but nothing that blows your socks off. Enjoyable time.
Quite pleasant evening on the patio. Pecan trout were very good and I’m a trout fisherman who lives on a river inSouthern Oregon. Prime rib was also good per my wife and both meals were complete and satisfying. Service was friendly and efficient. Cream brûlée was delicious. Decent value.
The presentation of my steak dish was beautiful. However the meat was supposed to be medium (pink) came out well done. My husbands was the same. The sides were very good. The service was good and the waitress felt terrible about the steak being over cooked.
Food was good. Service was good. A nice surprise on the less "touristy" part of Sedona.
The food was pretty good. When we arrived, the hostess informed us that 2 big parties had cancelled their reservation. The service was terribly slow, so it would have been terrible if all parties arrived.
We enjoyed our dinner at the Heartline Cafe. We have been here several times over the last 15 years, and our last visit in 2014 was a disappointment. This time things are back on track.
Overall, the food was excellent. The small plate scallop appetizer was perfectly cooked with great flavor. The house salad was good. The star of the night was the trout, always our Heartline favorite. The flourless chocolate cake was dry and didn't have much flavor, but that was a minor issue.
Service was a bit of an issue. The wait staff was good, and knew how to take care of people. However they were stretched too thin, handling the dinner crowd.
We were here 25 years ago and everything was even better than we remembered. Family business with professionalism and charm. We love the newer decor and we look forward to returning soon.
Everything sounded good.
It was busy for a Sunday night but everything went well. Thank you Anthea for the wonderful service. The desserts were fabulous
Food was terrible
The Caesar salad was served in a way that wasn’t edible
The chicken entree was dry and impossible to eat
Seems like they don’t care about the quality of the food
It isn't enough to have Yelped and Trip Advisor. This is bar none one of the worst dining experiences in a very long time. I spoke to the wonderful/lovely GM who offered to comp the horrendous crab cakes... I wasn't looking for a freebie, I wanted my insulted taste buds back. Food was sloppy, not appetizing and the place is dingy and tired. Worst clunky mashed and grilled medley of PEPPERS?! vegetables I have had in a long time. It may have had it's day, but it's in dire need of sprucing up - menu and cleanliness. Nice staff. Sloppy food.
Everything here was great. Fine dining in a casual atmosphere. Not sure why anybody would complain about anything here. They have been open for almost 30 years and seem to have a pretty good handle on things. Definately try some of their desserts.
This is not a great place for kids- the offerings for kids are very limited. Food was fine but not great.
We ate for four nights in the most highly rated Sedona restaurants and this was by far our favorite. The atmosphere was warm, casual and natural. It was much more low key than the other places that were very crowded and loud; we liked being able to hear ourselves talk. The menu was eclectic and while I enjoy the salads on everyone's menus: mixed greens with goat cheese and cranberries, etc. I have never had a warm red cabbage salad - it was delicious! It was easy to eat wonderful food that was also healthy here. I had trout that was amazing. And the butternut and squash soup - without cream! - was outstanding. We already recommended this to folks we met while hiking in Sedona.
Enjoyed a very nice evening with friends/clients recently. The place wasn’t too busy for a Saturday night, but the service and the food was very good. Unfortunately, one of us had to send their steak back due to overcooking (it was ordered medium rare), but the manager took half of the cost off the bill.
The signature dish, pecan crusted trout, lived up to its reputation. The scallop appetizer and salads were excellent. The soup of the day was a little bland but a shake of salt fixed it up. They said they were out of many of their wines because of the busy weekend but brought us very good local wine. Service was friendly and efficient with both the waitress and hostess attending. The plentiful bread and two types of butter were very good.
We are locals and brought new friends to eat for the first time. All was Great!
I found the Heartline Café by searching for highly-rated restaurants in the Sedona area. My dining experience fell short of my expectations. Although there were few customers dining at the time, the service was surprisingly slow, inattentive and inept. The food was "OK," and not worthy of a top rating in my opinion.
We loved the. Local trout. Very well prepared Casual atmosphere and friendly service.
Wonderful in every way. We especially enjoyed the pecan encrusted trout.
I wish I could give a higher rating, unfortunately I cannot. I was not a fan of most of the food, from the roast chicken, two different salads (spinach and Caesar) each with chicken. I did like the black bean dip and their vegan broccoli soup, not so much the rest. My wife enjoyed it for the most so if it were her reviewing it, she would most likely be more generous. Unfortunately this place did not work for me.
Tired place, food was plentiful but uninspired. Staff was attentive but not very professional.
This restaurant is a good value in Sedona. The decor is a bit lacking, but the food is tasty. The trout and lamb entrees are quite pleasing, although the squash side dish is bitter. Overall a pretty good find in Sedona.
Easy to get a table for 6 on a Saturday evening at the last minute left us a bit worried but it turned out to be a nice dinner. The lamb was excellent as was the filet mignon... unfortunately they were out of salmon and the trout wasn't a great substitute nor were the scallops. Wait staff was pleasant but limited knowledge on wine options and service.
Love, love this food. My husband and I always eat here when we visit Sedona, never disappointed.
We have been eating here for close to 18 years and this visit was a huge disappointment. On a Saturday evening the restaurant was almost empty which should have been a tip off that we weren't going to have a good experience. Service was just fine but the food was really terrible. Rack of lamb over cooked, mashed potatoes tasted like they were a week old, vegetables barely cooked and the entire plate lukewarm at best. My fellow diners means fared the same. The food should have all been sent back but we were too tired after the days activities and just went home unsatisfied. We will not return which is very sad. It used to be a highlight of our visits to Sedona.
We were on vacation and our tour guide recommended Heartline Café for dinner... great food and a great quite atmosphere... We highly recommend !!!!
Food was the worst we had in Sedona. Service was bad. The ambiance we were looking for was not there as we were not even greeted when we got there. Votive candle was finished and not replaced. No candle lighted. The fish of the day was not fresh snd lobster cake had almost no lobster taste. Imagine paying for a worthless prime rib. We will not recommend this restaurant to any of our friends
Celebrating Christmas dinner at this restaurant was a bit dissapoibting. The set menu left much to be desired. The soup course was served not as hot as it should have been. The salad was just ok, nothing special. The main course for vegetarians was stated as a vegetable linguine which I felt should have been stated on the menu as being a spiral cut sweet potato not pasta. Upon complaint a plate of pasta was quickly supplied as a substitute. Therefore service gets a higher mark. On the meat dish which my husband ordered, the mashed potatoes were not served hot.
Christmas special menu was the only items available. This was acceptable to us since we were visiting from out of town and did not know if restaurants would be over crowded. It was a welcome to surprise to arrive to an empty dining room. Service, food were good. Having a nice quiet dining room was appreciated.
We had visited Heartline 15 years ago and were anxious to return again. We were a bit nervous that no one else was in the restaurant. But the staff and food once again exceeded our expectations. The trout is totally delicious. Thank you Heartline for a marvelous dining experience once again.
Vegan/gluten free options are very limited. Lot of loud kitchen noises from equipment and plates being shuffled. I was led to believe this was a premium restaurant, if they are, they have a lot of catch up work to do. Food quality and variety was just so-so. Nothing to brag about.
I felt a couple of restaurants across the street were better in service, ambiance, quality of food with a GF/Vegan friendly menu.
In some aspects, Oreganos which is nearby outshined this restaurant.
Came for Thanksgiving - a pre fixe menu, we had reservations. Place was not full. Sat for over 25 minutes after we asked the waitress for the wine list. That was the only time we ever saw her. Couple next to us had been served wine but received no food the entire time we were there. As we were leaving told the woman who appeared to be the manager what the issue was - maybe just the hostess, she made no offer to solve the problem. Better places to go.
We tried this restaurant after receiving a gift certificate while on vacation in Sedona. Everything from the appetizers to the main courses were all excellent, and the service was fantastic! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
I do have to say it was a little difficult to see, as they definitely need more lighting outside...it is a hidden gem in Sedona!
The ambiance was nice and the food was good. When the asparagus soup ended up being spicy they were quick to make up for not informing the guest.
Food was excellent, wine was a generous pour. There was a small child in restaurant that we were seated by. (Should have set new diners away). We got up and changed tables ourselves, and then all was fine.
Grilled lamb chops heavenly and pecan crusted rainbow trout fabulous. We were very happy with our meals.
Special menu was very creative with pumpkin filled ravioli. Good quality house wines.
Jennifer is a very helpful server.
Everything was good, some creative moments. Nice place. Medium to high priced but I thought worth it.
Food was excellent. Server was very pleasant and had a friendly smile. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The price was no more than many other places we ate at in Sedona.
Amazing. Just as we remembered from our last visit 15 yrs ago.
