Poached pear dessert was fantanstic. Service and ambience were very nice. Will return soon
What a pleasent evening. Food service and everything was exceptional. Definately look forward to returning
Kudos to the chef as all the food was really good. The restaurant is a dump. They only had 2.5 menus for our six top and the restaurant was half empty. Waitress seemed intoxicated, didn’t know the menu and acted odd in general complaining about how tired she was. Overall I feel bad for the chef who puts out good food but the front of the house and dated/tired dining room are bad enough to never go back.
Decent appetizers and soup, but the puttanesca was a major failure. We were told the chef wasn't feeling well and his father was helping, which is why the dish wasn't made right!! We just ordered off the menu, it wasn't a special order. Excuses dont fly for expensive dumb food.
i found this review to be upsetting. you came in with 3 dogs and your friend. phyllis seated you on the patio which was closed but she wanted to accommodate you your friend and the dogs. she started the heat devices and even built a fire in the fire place. the puttanesca was sans artichokes. had you mentioned that to phyl another item of your choice would have been served. in any event we are sorry for the episode. what the server told you was not correct and he is being retrained.
Really overpriced food with no flavor. With so much good food in Sedona, no reason to eat here.
They had a fixed menu for Thanksgiving. It was good. The table was ready When we arrived. The service was good. It was a very nice family atmosphere. The price was $60 a person which I thought was a little high even for Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving Dinner while camping In Sedona
Good flavors, however at $233 for 3 people for Turkey, it seemed a bit expensive for the value.
30-40 a plate would be much more reasonable then 60 plus mandatory 18% tip.
Plus they served us everything really really fast!
happy you liked the food. thanksgiving always a tough day. we served over 225 people. we checked the finer restaurants in sedona. our pricing competitive and when you add the complimentary cocktail a bargain. there were several restaurants which charged more. everything thing we serve is organic hope this reply helps
$180 thanksgiving dinner for two!! I had a hair in my first plate so they brought me a new one. Food was nothing special, they clearly took advantage of out-of-towners by serving an overly priced dinner plate. The dessert was served in a small aluminum pie tin, it was supposed to be pumpkin cheesecake and was more like a runny pumpkin pudding. The atmosphere was anything but intimate, felt like a diner. The views advertised are non-existent, even on the patio. So disappointed in our experience. Service was marginal, took 10 min or so to even have a server approach us and all he wanted was our dinner order, we had to remind him that we also wanted a beverage. Wouldn’t go back here on a dare.
sorry you were not happy with your visit. the executive chef checked the dish we picked up after you complained of a hair. it was a fiber from the sweet potato. everything on your plate was organic. we checked our pricing against the finer restaurants in sedona and we are competitive with those establishments. when you add the complimentary cocktail we are a bargain. there were quite a few in town that charged more. the dinner was 60 per person prix fixe plus tax and grat. patio was close
Had very pricey Thanksgiving meal, main course was good, but soup, salad and dessert sub par.
interesting because we received several compliments on the desert. the soup is one of our signature items. as far as price we checked the finer restaurants in sedona and we were very competitive. in fact, even on the low side. several were much higher. lastly, our menu with price was posted on the open table site as well as others. Happy holidays!
Excellent all the way around! My rib eye was prepared exactly as I requested, the mashed potatoes were to die for, the sauteed veggies were nice and firm and everything was just seasoned to perfect for me. Not too salty and not OVER seasoned.
Husband's trout was also cooked and seasoned perfectly for him. Same with the mashed potatoes and veggie medley. We had the house vinaigrette dressing on our dinner salads and it was just delicious with enough variety in the salad.
House red wine was just right, the Myers rum hit Husband's spot, too.
We both highly recommend the Creme Brule, too. Crunchy top, creamy custard and plenty for us two after such a delicious dinner.
Our server (I can't remember his name, darn it), was just wonderful, engaging, on time, great suggestions, not over-bearing and just fun!
P.S. It doesn't hurt that the chef that we could see looked like Aaron Rogers (Green Bay Packers QB) LOL!
Excellent. I can't believe we waited 2-1/2 years to try this jewel of a restaurant in Sedona.
Very nice staff. Food was good. Overpriced. Very accommodating for children and picky eaters. Service a little slow.
The waiter Juan Miguel is wonderful, professional, friendly and happy.
We made a reservation on open table for our anniversary. We confirmed the day before. When we arrived the restaurant was closed for private party! We were just told, sorry. Take it up with Open Table!
Just not a good experience. Very overpriced.
The food was wonderful, starting with the delicious warm bread, the salads and the entrees - all were equally delicious. I had a spinach salad with warm bacon dressing, and a wonderful chicken breast encrusted with pistachio nuts. My husband had the chicken entree, and loved it. Very tasty, and the service was wonderful as well. Overall, we really enjoyed our whole experience at the Heartline Café.
We ate at this restaurant several times during our stay in Sedona, AZ. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. First our server Juan was amazing and anticipated everything we needed and wanted. He even brought us a sampling of the sweet potato chips on our last visit and they were outstanding and still warm! He was quick to bring us more water and our food and just great to chat with as well. We also met Phyllis who was also great to talk with and found out we had some things in common in PA. And we had a really great server the first night of our visit who was very personable and friendly as well (my apologies with her name escaping me). Now the food! This first night I had the ribeye and it was prepared just right and had the perfect sauce with it. The plate was beautiful too! My husband had the filet and he enjoyed it as well. We started that night with the crab cake appetizer (very good plentiful dungeness crab) and the scallops (grilled on rosemary skewers). The second time we visited there we had the free range chicken with bacon and garlic and it had the most wonderful sauce with it. We actually had some chicken and steak left over which I ate for lunch another day and it was just as good!!!!! And my husband is still raving about the warm poached pear in puff pastry with cinnamon ice cream! All the food was wonderful and picturesque. And the chef prepared the most amazing sauces with everything. We did recommend this restaurant to other travelers and told them how wonderful the food and service was and we will definitely be back when we're in the area again.
Dinner was delicious. Server was great. A little disappointed the place was empty. I remember u couldn’t get a reservation there.
Really nice people. It was a cool evening and owner lit the fireplace for us. The waiter was very entertaining and did not rush us thru the meal so could relax and enjoy our wine. Food was very tasty.
The food and the presentation was exquisite. The steak was the best I've had in years!
Great place in Sedona. Wonderful food and service.
The service was excellent but then there were not many people in the restaurant.
The soup was good and the salads were OK.
The trout had insufficient sauce and was smothered in way too many pecans.
The ribeye steak was difficult to eat because it was so tough. Hard to cut even with a steak knife. The vegetables were nearly raw and without much flavor.
They got pretty busy around 6pm, but service and food remained on point. The cocktails were fantastic. Creme brulee dessert was outstanding as well.
The food is always excellent here. And the owner, Phyllis, is absolutely wonderful. Our wedding reception dinner was hosted there last year and we returned for our anniversary for dinner. Highly recommended.
We had another terrific dinner. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were incredible. Service was friendly and professional
This was my fifth time over 20 years at the Heartline. We dined on the patio, which was wonderful. Service was sketchy at best; it appeared they did not have enough staff available. This would not deter us from dining there again or recommending them. The food was wonderful and well worth the price.
The pear and butternut squash soup was delicious. The scallops and crab cakes were both outstanding. We also had the poached pear in puffed pastry desert which was exceptional. Would highly recommend this restaurant. The service was also great. Couldn’t be better.
Excellent every time. The poached dessert with homemade cinnamon ice cream is always worth it. The patio is our favorite place to dine
Food was great, hospitality was excellent and the service couldn’t be better. I’ll be going back for sure!
Staff members were warm, friendly, and seemed genuinely happy to be at work. It made for such a pleasant dining experience! As a vegetarian, I appreciated our server suggesting modifications to my salad selection without being prompted. My husband commented his steak was "perfectly" medium rare - exactly as he ordered, which doesn't happen often (medium rare usually seems to come out more well done). My salad, basically a plate of spinach (with dressing, almonds, and dried cranberries served on the side to mix in), was a little overpriced at $12... and it was a little odd to find sweet potato chips (as in, right out of a potato chip bag) sprinkled on top... However, the dressing was flavorful, and the whole ambiance was just so cozy that we couldn't complain too much. Just had to smile and enjoy the evening!
My lamb was good: my wife’s trout was overdone. Limited menu and nothing special. Waitress was clueless and they had no idea how to make a cocktail.
Very good food. Mix of classical southwestern with a modern touch. It is nice to have a bit different outlook on classical dishes. Bit on a high end, pricewise, but a very good night out. Patio is worth it. Dessert was excellent.
After 19 years we returned to find the same excellent quality restaurant. Josh treated us warmly and the service was the best. We bought the cookbook and we are going the give several receipts a try. Please continue.
Excellent cuisine, quiet ambience and outstanding service
We wish we lived closer.
The Prime rib special as well as pecan crusted trout were delicious.
This was the most spectacular meal we've had in recent memory! We ate outside on the very tranquil patio. The grilled scallop appetizer with lemon aioli was perfectly cooked. We had the tequila-lime marinated salmon and the ribeye. The chef took so much care to make sure every single aspect of the meal was so flavorful, down to the smallest vegetable. You can't leave without trying one (or more) of the desserts. We had the creme brulee and the wine-poached pear with homemade cinnamon ice cream, which were both absolutely perfect. This place is a treasure!!!
We had the whole place to ourselves. The waitress is very good and funny. Food was outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. We sat outside where you can bring your dog.
Lovely courtyard that even in the height of summer is a great place to eat.
Great food and friendly and knowledgeable service. We had various salad starters with wonderful options on the dressings. As for the entrees, the steak was excellent - juicy and tender and my husband had the trout which he loved. The vegetarian in our party was also surprised and pleased by the available choices and quality of the food. Rich and creamy creme brulee to finish. Comprehensively an excellent experience.
great restaurant. wonderful food. quiet enough that you can actually have a conversation without telling. try the crabcakes. Jen was great
the chef knows how to cook great depth of flavors and beutiful presentations the search was basically non existant we were on the patio which as a tourist in sedona expected better ambiance needs updating the sound level was quiet as only one other couple outside with us
