The Hatching Post is located in West Kelowna, we serve authentic Texas-style BBQ with a local twist. Our menu features high-quality, Canadian-sourced meats smoked low and slow over fruit woods. Decent meal. Pricey. Waitress forgot one meal so my wife had to wait while they prepared it while the rest of us ate. The bill had an automatic 18% gratuity added, I suppose because there was 4 adults and 3 kids?? Never have seen this before.

Service was ok. Ambiance good. Food was a big letdown. Ordered a drink and they didn’t have what they needed to make it so they just made another similar drink and was not planning to comp it even though that wasn’t what we ordered. Comped in the end. Mac and cheese was lukewarm at best which was ridiculous. It was terrible and dry. Cornbread extremely dry and absolutely flavorless. Coleslaw soggy and poor flavor. Pickled veg and potato salad were really good. Ribs were super dry and almost chewy at times, such a disappointment. Brisket was 50% fat, have had brisket that is much much better quality, big letdown. for a bbq house the food should’ve been so much better. Service was ok, waitress cleared one of our plates while there was still food on it we were working on. Definitely recommend not dining here. Would never come again.

Very budget friendly family style BBQ. Great BBQ options and huge portions. Great selection of craft beer too.
