   We are new to the area and still trying to find our favourite place. The Hatch is very olde worlde and the staff were all very nice and the food was really flavourful and well presented. However there seemed to be a breakdown in communication between front of house and the kitchen. Side dishes were forgotten and it somehow took 15 minutes for a bowl of chips to appear. The food was good, no complaints other than everything was £2-£3 more than nearby venues and there was no apparent reason why. The place was busy but it seemed to be full of people who wanted everyone to hear their voice resulting in lots of good mannered shouting and laughing and the low ceilings simply amplified this. Would I go back? Yes but not for a special occasion and only if I could not sit next to the LOUD people who were everywhere, at the bar, at the tables and outside. No one could hear you scream!

   Large group in which meant it was exceptionally loud and staff were polite but not as friendly as before and had to be reminded several times about water etc. It would have been useful when they sent out the email 24 hrs before to say the access road was closed.

   After another successful walk with my compatriots of six we descended on the Hatch Inn after getting around the road works. Once again we had our favourite waitress back and keeping us in order. We all enjoyed our different meals which are always of a high standard. I am sure our walking group will be back.

   Had a fantastic meal at The Hatch. We don't live far but seem to have overlooked this little gem of a pub. There were five of us and we all had the rib eye steaks . Each of our steaks were cooked to perfection . We all had chosen different desserts and all were very yummy. The service was brilliant. Couldn't have asked for more . Will be returning in the not too distant future .

   All food excellent and great atmosphere and service. Everyone very friendly. Best ribeye steak I have had in a long time.

   Beautiful old pub in the countryside. The food was really excellent. My wife and I both had the hake with crushed new potatoes, lemon butter, prawns, cockles and samphire. Everything was cooked perfectly and the fish was delicious. Landlady & staff provided very welcoming great service too. Highly recommend.

   I can thoroughly recommend The Hatch. A very warm welcome and the best burger I've had for a long time ! Lovely staff and we will definitely return. The place is full.of history too. Thank you.

    Excellent meal. Food was delicious and one of the best we have had for a while. The service was friendly and attentive. Really would recommend and go back
