Hidden new resteraunt, great food and friendly find. Very surprised and impressed with how good the food was.

Service poor, attempt at recovery also poor. Made several errors on order, while restaurant was very quiet. Couldn't get water refilled, despite their being no other tables. Server was not interested in us at all. Food was okay.

The we stayed at the hotel and ate at the restaurant for breakfast. The ambiance was very fun and everything seemed hand-picked and curated. The service staff was very friendly and helpful. They accidentally served me cream that was started to turn (it did not taste bad but curdled in my coffee) and apologized many times and got me new coffee and even discounted my food, which was very kind. The food was filling and the biscuits were excellent. My only wish is they offered the brunch menu all week, as I wanted to try some of the eggs Benedict, but it makes sense they cannot serve everything when there were only a few customers for breakfast during the week.
Food was excellent and our server was attentive. Initially it took a few minutes to get menus and service, but everything turned out fine.
Hart and Hunter is a charming and beautiful restaurant with great personable service and amazing background music. Loved it.
Seevice was way too slow but server was polite. Food was good. Drinks were mediocre. Design/interior is awesome.

The food was quite tasty, but extremely small portions especially for the price we paid. We were there at breakfast and only 2-3 other tables were seated, but our server was not the most attentive. All in all, I might try it again but it was the size of the serving that was concerning. I had the Hart Breakfast that cost $18, and got 1 piece of bacon, one egg, and 2 small biscuits. The biscuits were tasty, but not the southern biscuits I'm used to.
Fun, unexpected spot by the Market. Good food and nice vibe.
I typically look for the good in every dining experience but it was tough here. My wife and I came in for breakfast, we were one of three parties there at the time. Our coffee and food came out cold, the signature biscuits were small and undercooked. A single slice of bacon comes with your entree, it was requested to be crispy and was not, cheese was requested on the scrambled eggs, it was left off... No attention to detail or reason for cold food coming out to one of your three morning customers!
You must order the butter biscuits. Pure butter and they come hot, homemade, with maple butter, pimento cheese and homemade jam. They are not quite a full meal, so order another dish. We had the Carrot Tartine - fresh vollkorn seeded bread, sweet carrot butter, cumin and fresh carrot shavings on top. Healthy and delicious. The restaurant is attached to the Palihotel, a new funky & cozy hotel by Pike market.
Overpriced for small portions . A little pretentious for mediocre food.
Server was great, but the kitchen was behind and very slow, took 30 minutes for one appetizer, another 30 minutes for second appetizer. By the time the entrees arrived it was well over 1 1/2 hours since the start of our reservation.
Incredibly, in what I would like to believe was an anomaly for this location, we waited more than two hours for our food. 90 minutes went by (after we ordered food) without any acknowledgement by our server or any staff member that we were waiting an incredible amount of time. No one got their salads. The entire restaurant turned over in this time. At the 90 minute mark someone came out to tell us the restaurant was out of buns, and my husband would have to accept a lettuce wrap on his burger. Seeing as it was his birthday (something the restaurant knew) I asked if the bun from my hot chicken sandwich could be substituted. Then I saw more food coming out of the kitchen with buns. When our food arrived, the orders were wrong (salads instead of fries all around, and not the salads anyone ordered!), NO ONE who ordered a hot chicken sandwich got a bun, and when we asked about it (half-heartedly, it's not like we were going to wait at that point!) the staff told us we were incorrect about our orders. They took some $ off our bill and we left almost immediately. Incredibly disappointing. Full disclosure, this was Christmas evening. We were prepared for the restaurant to not have their "A Team" on line for the night but this was truly something else. We arrived at 6:15 for our 6:30 reservation and left at 9:30 ... Still hungry.
Everything was fantastic, but really it is all about the biscuits.
Loved the food, thought the service could have been more attentive. Waited a long time to get the server's attention and had to flag people down to get coffee/water/check even though there were very few people there and lots of staff standing around. Would go again for the food alone though -- truly delicious!
Excellent place for breakfast, we walked right by it and didn't notice it until we found it on opentable. Cool décor, great ambiance, and excellent food. Definitely we'll be stopping in again!
The service was really poor from having to wait to be seated to waiting over an hour for our food. They first sat us at a very small table that was too small for our party even though we had a reservation. Lots of kinks to work out.
Terrible. We had reservations for four on Sunday brunch. When we got there the hostess looked at me like I was crazy, turned and walked away. She sat two people behind us and finally sat us more than five minutes later. They certainly did not have a table reserved, and they just shoved two round two-tops together, which was awkward and uncomfortable. It took more than 10 minutes to get coffee, another 10 minutes to take our order, and over an hour to get served. We asked for a side of bacon while we were waiting, and they brought one piece of bacon. The biscuits are tiny and the food was decent, but overpriced. The kitchen is open air, and we were very close. We saw one cook pick some food out of the pan with his fingers and eat it. After we ate, we sat with dirty dishes for at least another 10 minutes. Then we heard one of the cooks insult us as we walked out. Never again.

Lights were so bright it was hard to enjoy the otherwise beautifully designed space.
Grits and stew were not tasty and not hot. Chicken sandwich and fries were delicious and full of flavor. Excellent cocktail and delightful service.
Pretty expensive for what it is but could be overlooked if the ambiance fit the design. Dim those lights! 😊
Breakfast before a big hike—new restaurant, very inventive menu. Cabbage with gravy great for vegetarians. My picky 14-year old liked the biscuit tray.

The Butter Biscuits are AMAZING!!! We had the collard greens, blackened shrimp and grits, and chicken sandwich with skinny fries. Everything was delicious! Cool, unique atmosphere and friendly staff. We will be back for sure!

Met an old friend for breakfast at this new spot... so glad I did! The design is unique, but fitting for the area and feels retro-comfortable. The location is perfect, just steps from the market. I had the warm oats (delicious) and a cup of coffee, which the server told me is from a local roaster. Great spot I'll definitely be back.
Seems like they’re still figuring things out! Food was mediocre and service a little slow or unorganized. Think it will be so amazing as they continue!

Overall I think that this is a good restaurant. Food was good, service was good and of course, the biscuits were good.
The thing that I will comment on mostly has to do with price, I knew what the prices were before I went in, and willingly paid the price for the things I got. If you don't want to hear someone complain about overpriced food stop now---- Ultimately 10$ for biscuits is a bit steep, they were good, the jam etc.. was great. They are small and there is only 3 so ultimately didn't feel worth it (in terms of me ordering again).
My flat iron steak was good, and it came with smashed potatoes and some fried onion things. The steak was good, the potatoes are ok, might improve with something on top (hell even butter??). My wifes Salmon was tasty.
So while I am glad I went here and tried it out, the chances I'll return are low. Nothing about this meal was bad or unsatisfactory in terms of flavor, but it wasn't anything special either. The prices for my overall experience are just not on par with what I am willing to go out for, Seattle has a really competitive restaurant scene and there are too many better options in terms of price or flavor.
The food and drinks are delicious, creative and fun. Ambiance could be greatly improved by dimming the lighting. Service was slow but attentive enough without being annoying. We were a party of 6 and ordered quite a variety of dishes. Everyone had a different favorite with the salmon being the least favorite (basic flavors and boring rice). Loved the grain salad, chicken thighs, dumplings, biscuits and clams.
Had a lovely dinner at Hart and the Hunter while in Seattle on business. Great cocktails, great food. You really need to get these biscuits though... so light and fluffy and delicious, and they come with spicy cheese spread that is just amazing. Design is like a old school diner with these great mint green banquettes.
The hotel and restaurant just opened on Monday so of course they have a lot of issues to address. Lighting in the dining room being a key thing. Great staff and they are aware of the lighting problem in the dining room and bar area.
