The Hamilton Kitchen & Bar
A welcoming approach to old-world hospitality with an urban vibe and new-
world flair. The Hamilton will take you back to the days of the public house, where both locals and visitors gathered for a heartwarming, good meal, great conversation and flowing libations.
The Hamilton will showcase seasonal American cuisine, featuring takes on regional classics from around the country and the family dinner table.
There was no access to the bottled wine so as a good restaurant manager they should’ve price adjusted our single glass wine purchase price
The place looked great. It is a nice location. The food looked good. However, we were seated for my 9:30 reservation and the restaurant did not seem that busy. Unfortunately, no one acknowledged our presence for 12+ minutes. I asked my partner what she wanted to do and we left. It is hard for me to comment on much else since my experience was so short. However, we were passed by several servers and the greeter multiple times and were done looking at the menus. I don't think I will go back.
We have been to the hamilton before and loved it. unfortunately our last visit wasnt a great experience. They seated us at a table for 2 about 2 feet from the tables next to us on both sides. We could hear every word our neighbors were speaking. The food came out fast, we ordered from the valentine's day menu. The food was ok. Not spectacular likecwe are used to consuming at the Hamilton. The steak was cooked perfectly but was very bland. The lobster dinner didnt come with a potato. Just not what we are used to from the Hamilton.
The food and service were terrible. It was our first visit and we will not be returning.
We had 3 great apps and a salad. All were fantastic. Beautiful big dining area.
Great meal service like always.
Great cocktail list. Good environment to get to know my guest
Excellent meal, fresh and flavorful
Food was excellent, and we will recommend our family and friends to dine at The Hamilton Kitchen and Bar.
Made reservation months before for Christmas Eve. Arrived 10 min early and told to wait. A group of 5 people came in without a reservation and were immediately seated. We stood waiting another 10 minutes and no acknowledgement. I asked if we could hang our coats and my coat was taken and my 4 family members ignored. A gentleman came to register and I approached him and once again gave my info. He hastily sat us in a small area with no 5th place setting and extra chair swung into the table at last second. Proceeded to wait another 15 minutes for our cocktails. Never going here again. Food was decent. Nothing outstanding.
Christmas Eve dining was special- beautiful decor, gourmet offerings, and truly gracious staff. Highly recommend for any day of the week.
I absolutely luv The Hamilton! I was disappointed with the Christmas Eve menu. We left starving. Highly unusual for the Hamilton. Our server was wonderful!
Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful food and the waitress was very attentive to our special requests. I highly recommend.
Great meal and great location (we were at the hotel across the street.
Waiter was on top of things and spent time explaining the location to us.
The waiter Austin was exceptional and helped us make our selection. The food was great as well as the drinks.
We’ve been to the Hamilton well over a dozen times and really enjoy it. The past few visits have been subpar. The Old Fashioneds seemed to have changed for the worse. Both of our entrees were served to us cold and flavorless. Overall the meal wasn’t worth the money. We will be back and hope it turns back around but this time we were extremely disappointed.
Very nice meal. Excellent serve. It was quiet but that might be because it was a slow night. There are a lot of hard surfaces....might be loud if it had been busy.
Scallops were delicious!
Went for Thanksgiving dinner, which was very good but pricey ($42 per person, not including alcoholic beverage), I thought. Server was very attentive — as were other servers — but the music was a bit loud, we thought. Really cool place, though — ambiance was excellent!
We haven’t been to the Hamilton since the spring, Opting instead for the Dime across the street before phantoms hockey games. We decided to try it again. We chose to sit at the bar and although it was half empty, the service was nonexistent. No one told us the specials, we had to ask repeatedly to provide our dinner order and they were curt and not friendly. I ended up not ordering a drink because our bartender never even came back! Our food was very good and the only thing that saved the dining experience.
Good service and good bar selection
Over priced for the portions and type of food.
The food was simply amazing!! Definitely one of the best food experiences we have had in a long time! We will definitely come back, and highly recommend The Hamilton Kitchen to others.
Server was very nice but I don’t think she ever offered the specials. Rigatoni was good but some pieces were a little undercooked. Strip steak was order to be medium to medium rare. It was a solid rare - middle 70% was still jellylike. I will order Ahi Tuna this way but it was the most rare steak I have ever eaten. They serve it already sliced so it should have been easy to see before bringing it out.
Drinks were awesome. Still the best Old Fashioned anywhere.
Desserts were also excellent.
Used to be a nice place with great apps and meals but now just a loud overpriced bar
They knocked it out of the park!
We enjoy the Hamilton Kitchen and go there once or twice a year when we are visiting our daughter at college. On this occasion, my wife enjoyed her steak and my pork tenderloin was cooked perfectly. The barbecue-like cause paired well with both my protein and the spaghetti squash. The highlight of the meal for us, though, were the appetizers. We dug the fried mozzarella, pierogis, and deviled eggs. Our favorite part of the meals we have had at HK, though, is having a chat with Conrad about their world-class whiskey list. He picked a perfect whiskey for me and made a great recommendation to my wife. All in all, a great meal was enjoyed by all!
Brielle did an excellent job!! Great food service and beautiful restaurant too
Food was awful, drinks overpriced and not well made. Nice place and fun atmosphere. Would recommend to hang out and drink beer. Something they cant mess up.
Not sure if they changed chefs or what is going on but it's not as good as it used to be. Service was good but the menu is rather boring and the quality has definitely gone down hill.
Wonderful service and very good meals in a swanky atmosphere.
Austin was our server and he was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable on the menu, gave recommendations, very friendly and was not overbearing and checking on us every ten minutes because it was a slower day. We want to come back for dinner and will be asking for him again. Thanks Austin!!!!
Upscale, great ambience. Viviana our sever was excellent. Menu selections creative and delicious!
Food was fine, but not good enough to come back. Service was slow, infrequent, and inaccurate.
The service was very poor. It took 30 minutes for our server to bring bread to the table. One member of our table received his food 15 minutes before the others , which took another 30 minutes. Our salads came out with our entrees . We were there for almost three hours and there were only 3 of us. Never again will I eat at the Hamilton Kitchen
Wedding dinner with friends. Karaoke was a blast to listen to!
Horrible. Should have listened to friends and skipped this place. I’ve been a few times before and had horrible service at the bar. I hoped to have a better experience seated in the restaurant as, truly, it’s such a lovely space. Our poor server did his best but couldn’t make up for the lukewarm coffee, canned crabmeat in the also not terribly warm crab cake and general sense that the place was deserted. I guess there’s a reason we were one of maybe 6 tables in the entire restaurant at 8pm on a Saturday evening.
Such a shame.
My wife and I went there on Saturday evening around 6:30. PPL center had nothing going on, so it was quiet. Our server friendly, informative, and accurate with our orders. Everything we had was terrific. Drinks are expensive, 2 drinks each amounted to roughly 30-40% of our bill. The largest drawback for me had nothing to do with the restaurant itself. I don't like going to center city Allentown in my downtime. I don't find it relaxing.
The room was empty, the food was way overdone or did not have any flavor, and the advertised wine by the glass turned out to be incorrect. Rather than accommodate our bill to reflect the overdone salmon the waiter offered to provide a free desert. In addition the manager never bothered to stop by and apologize. This will be our last visit to The Hamilton.
Great vibe with excellent food and wine choices. We had been meaning to try this for awhile when we visit Allentown and it was worth the wait. We will be back a lot!
Use to be my favorite brunch spot in Lehigh valley, the brunch menu struck and when we got our food it wasn’t worth what we paid for it.
