Our first time here was worth the drive! Met our friend here and was not disappointed...our waitress Tara was awesome. Our steaks were amazing! Will be back!
I've eaten here several time - both for business and on dates. I had the bone in pork chop and I'd have to say I was disappointed as my expectations were high since on a business meal a business associate said to me "this is the best pork chop I've even eaten" and he grew up in South Carolina! He grew up on pork chops! I do like the Hall - I'd recommend it to anyone, I think the pork chop was just off that night, and of course that happens. I'll return.
Nice ambience, pleasant and attentive staff. Food was excellent. Would definitely return.
I have dined at this restaurant twice and both times the food has been surprisingly good! They strive to cook to order and have some great flavors.
Great food and service. Highly recommend.
The Hall is our #1 place for a great dinner on short notice. We are always confident bringing new people and know they will love whatever they order. Although I love the steak, I am now obsessed with the Spring Chicken.
Food was ok, but expecting more.
The food and service is always excellent!
Never disappointed by James Rose and his Team! We have made this one of our regular hangouts for lunch or dinner. The food, the atmosphere and the staff are outstanding. Whether you want “just a burger” or a world class steak - you will be hard pressed to find the quality of the food or value to be outdone elsewhere. Trinity Grove is a great venue and The Hall is a casual, comfortable place to relax and enjoy a great meal
Service was great, but the food left something to be desired. The Shrimp Louis salad was so deconstructed you felt like you might as well have made it yourself cause you had to cut up and mix everything anyway. The corn beef hash was weird. It wasn’t the normal hasbrown potatoes, instead it was mashed potatoes 🙁. Texture was very weird and off putting. Not at all what was expected. They were just trying too hard to be different.
Enjoyed an evening with long time friends. Service was attentive but did not interrupt diner conversation. We all had steaks or prime rib. I had the 10 oz Wagyu top sirloin. Excellent cut of meat and cooked to perfection. Will return again and again.
We are returning customers and love each and every time we dine at The Hall.
The attention given to us is always exceptional. The food is top quality!
We will absolutely go back again and again
One of the best steaks I've had in a long time! Rosa's service was superb!
It's not too stuffy like most nice steakhouses and a place you can actually talk with your friends. We ate way too much and took home leftovers as well. They have a great bar as well.
The Hall and their staff never disappoint.
Everything was excellent. Rosa is my favorite server/waitress in Dallas.
The food is just a bit pricey, but hey, it’s Bob’s
Very nice server. Steaks were good. Sides were good. Onion rings were a disappointment as the batter coating was not crisp as though perhaps either deep fryer not hot enough or they sat for awhile after frying. As we were one of only 2 or 3 tables with patrons, ......
Awesome place for business lunch, casual lunch with friends. Great food and service!!
Service was great and my steak was delicious. Loved sitting at the bar watching Stanley cup playoffs on their 3 large TVs
We have been there several times and usually rave / 5 Star everything. This time was a little off. Had to send”cold” baked potatoes back. Salad contained core and was not good. Steaks were great. We will go back but not real soon.
The Hall Bar & Grill is like Pappas Steakhouse meets Cheers. Excellent food, great service and a stellar bar whether you prefer wine, scotch, bourbon, beer or mixed drinks they have it all. BEST lemon drop martini in Dallas!
Well, it's not the restaurant we've enjoyed in the past. Bartenders were attentive but disinterested so that vibe is gone. Our table service was horrible. She didn't bring all of our drinks until asked a second time. Brought an appetizer with the meal. Didn't check on us. The food was delicious but it's the service and atmosphere is what also makes you return...and fortunately there are too many other excellent options in DFW...we won't be coming back.
James made a Steak Tar Tare that rivals the best restaurants in France! The steaks are absolutely fantastic and all of the sides were wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Great place to eat.
Great steaks and prime rib. Good wine list and exceptional service!
Love this place. This is my 3rd or 4th time coming. I decided to take my sister and my 10 year old son for a mother's day brunch. Booked on Open Table and it was ready to go. No wait at all. Love the food, ambiance and service. Definitely coming back soon.
The Hall has great food period. The shrimp appetizer to the huge bone-in prime rib are great and left overs assured. The wait staff is energetic and friendly. When you have friends in from out of town and you want to reinforce "beef and ball" this is your place!
We continue to go back to the Hall for a variety of reasons. The food is always spot-on, interesting options, good service, accommodating, and central location. We often meet family here from multiple distances, and with $5 valet, it's an easy in and out. You can order up or down, depending on your appetite and wallet. i started with a reservation of 4, then a few hours before dinner, called and asked if we could add 2 more - no problem. An hour later, I called to ask to add 2 more - no problem. No hesitation - we really appreciated it and it really increased our loyalty. Our big group, with a baby in a high chair, fit right in to the rather loud dining room - it was fine. Order the onion rings.
Admin day celebration - I called to alert them that we were needing a table of eleven. Rosa answered the call and was warm, inviting and willing to accommodate our needs. James returned my vmail message and reassured me that he and Rosa would have us well taken care of.
Victoria was amazing! Great food! Great service!!
I expected more from the food, it was definitely not worth the price. I’m an avid foodie that is always looking for something new to try, unfortunately this place was a let down specifically speaking to the food. The service was average, and the ambiance felt like an average diner.
Pros....The food was great and the atmosphere was fun but not too loud. The music overhead was seldom heard 70's and 80's kind of off the wall stuff, you could hear it but not overpowering and fun to listen to. Our waitress Veronica was about a 4'6" bundle of personality. She was fantastic and the rest of the staff never left a glass empty or dirty plate on the table. The food quality was very good and the meat was cooked perfectly as were the sides.
Cons... $ rating by open table.... not unless you are on a diet and don't drink.. Wife and I split an appetizer, she had a steak and I had prime rib and we split 2 sides. We each had 2 drinks and the total was $200 with tip. I don't have a problem with that for the quality of food and service... but I was expecting prices a little more moderate ...this is much more along the line of Houston's or Del Frisco's you can get out of there for $ but you will really have to limit your menu.
Bottom line is I will be back but I'll try a burger and a beer and save that steak for Del Frisco's or Houston's.
Great dinner! Will definitely visit again!!!
Consistently excellent food and service based on numerous visits
Rosa, was an amazing server and we had a blast with her. A great lady!! The food was amazing and all my friend enjoy their meals as well.
The Hall has the best prime rib ever!! Also great steaks and veggie sides!! We love going there!! Besides, it's in our neighborhood and as good or better than other options in town!!
Their food is fantastic. We were just there for Sunday brunch and their homemade cinnamon rolls are amazing.
The Hall is an unusual restaurant. I'm not sure that I got the theme. There were mainly pictures of football players around the restaurant, and the waitress said that if we invited a well know football player to the restaurant that they would put their picture up. Go figure. As far as the food, this is mostly a steak place, and the steaks are very good and reasonably priced. We had the 10oz Wagu Sirloin and the Prime Rib, both were tremendous. Salads were good, and reasonably priced. I had the Caesar. All sides are a la carte, and this is were the meal did not meet expectations. We ordered the buttered egg noodles, which were 4 inches wide, heavy, doughy and tasteless. Also the Seattle potatoes, which were small potatoes cooked in butter, were nothing special. Lastly, the sautéed spinach was just average. All in all this was a fairly good meal, and I will probably come back. I will order different sides (they have mashed and baked potatoes) and clearly avoid the buttered noodles.
Steaks were cooked perfectly per our order and service was very friendly.
Nice steak, cooked to order, with great flavor
As always, the food was exceptional. Service, however, was another story. I wish I caught her name so as to ask for anyone other than her next time. The waitress just seemed uninterested.
Went for late lunch on a Sunday. Not bad but nothing special. Waitress wasn't very interested in us. Steak was over cooked. I'd go back but won't make any special effort.
