The Hall Bar & Grill
The restaurant’s clubby decor will feature photographs and memorabilia from North Texas luminaries and other residents who once excelled on the playing field and who now serve as leaders in business, law, medicine, community service and so on.
The Hall has been my favorite for great steak since 1st visit, highly recommended to others however recent dining experience was much different.
Preface it by saying previous visits were in the evening, this visit mid-afternoon & our favorite server Victoria has moved from Dallas & is no longer there, she is who suggested certain menu items & preparation which we have stuck with.
Bibb & Blue Salas-fantastic! However bread was never offered.
Entree 1st brought to us mid-way thru our salad course, server apparently turned order in right away & either had not paid attention or was not knowledgeable in prep & cooking time. Entree is for 2, presented on only one plate and not as ordered, bone in & seared on flat top & was returned.
Entree presented 2nd time, by different server, seared but not bone-in cut as ordered. We explained what & how we had ordered & that we had this preparation each time in the past. A few minutes later a 3rd server approached us advising day-time kitchen was not familiar with evening prep and it would be a few minutes.
Entree presented a 3rd time, seared, on two plates and bone on set plate, not attached. Never have we had a “bone-in” served off the bone.
Steak was tender and tasty however cut was much thinner than in the past. We suspect we were served same plates 3rd time as 2nd time, kitchen just put a bone on plate.
Not sure if we will return, would like to hear from management on this experience.
Always great food and service
Great Atmosphere Staff Was Wonderful. Food Was Awesome. Will Be Coming Back Soon.
Withdrew more money than allowed
The atmosphere was great. However we were not impressed with the food. My husband had the 18oz ribeye, it was not tender and had little to know flavor. We did however enjoy the tomato bisque soup, it was delicious.
Always good food and service. Best part is you can hear each other.
Best Filet Mignon ever and cooked to perfection. The side dishes where were not a second thought here. They were wonderful. My favorite was the creamed kale and spinach. Great bar for bourbon lovers. Enjoyed a 9 year old Clyde Mays from Alabama at 117 proof. Delicious with their Baked Apple dessert.
Great Food/ I am no fan of mushrooms/ here I must order
The steak is amazing and we received great service.
Food was excellent and so was the service. Wine list is possibly a little overpriced. We all had steak and it was excellent and decently priced
I dine at the Hall on most of my visits to Dallas- the 14 oz Fillet Mignon is always tasty and tender.
The tables are a little close together, and it could really do with are-deign perhaps with booths all along the front.
Our server was capable but not as enigmatic as those on previous visits
The food was average. I prefer a Prime Rib at Texas Roadhouse or Logan's for the price and the quality is the same. You do not get sides with the entree, which is common in restaurants that are more expensive for some reason. The dressing on the salad was very light and did not have much flavor. The horseradish was more sour cream than horseradish, which lacked the flavor. The baked potato was fine, but it is just a baked potato. The server did bring around the items to load the baked potato, but it was several minutes after getting the meal.
My wife had the Prime Rib Sandwich, which was pretty good. If I returned, we would both just get the sandwich.
The service was good, but the value and flavor for the money is not here. Overall the restaurant is good, but not great or outstanding by any means.
Always great service and good
Christmas Eve dinner, very comfortable & relaxed dining experience!
The all you can eat prime rib is a great value
Very attentive wait staff and pleasant atmosphere.
This is not a sports bar at all. Guess I was confused by the name, usually a Bar has sports playing and a lively environment Food was great even though they were out of what I wanted. Also no drink specials for brunch, (seems a little ridiculous for Dallas) probably why they were dead on a Sunday afternoon.
Superior service. Fantastic bar and the best steaks in Dallas
Christmas get together
We live 5 hours away and would make the drive just to eat here. Great food and a great atmosphere! The service is always spectacular!
Have never had a bad meal. Steaks are prepared perfectly. Excellent wine list. Great service, wonderful experience. The Hall is definitely on our "Rotation."
We had a group of 5 so the tip was already included. Our waitress did not provide good serve at all. She was not attentive to our table and kind of spoiled my husband birthday dinner.
Love The Hall. It was a busy night with a lot of large tables, so service was a bit slower than usual. Doesn't tarnish my love for this place.
Great beef! Excellent prices. Just wish it was in North Dallas.
We (2 couples) visited for the first time for my birthday on a Friday night at 7pm. It had a very casual feel, which was nice for the occasion. There is a large bar with TVs, and a good-sized dining area. It wasn't busy, which surprised me. Service was fantastic and the food was delicious. I had the filet, my husband had the London Broil - the LB was especially tasty! The sides were described as family-style - they were smaller than we expected but they were delicious as well! We will definitely be back. Great for a casual date with a fine-dining feel.
Birthday dinner for special guy.
Without a doubt, the best steak in Dallas!! Always prepared perfectly. The sides were outstanding!! Mushrooms were like eating steak! Creamed Spinach was a delight on my pallet!
Great food, casual environment. We will return. Prime rib was outstanding!
We love this place. You can get a very nice Steak for a great price. The Crab cakes are divine, as well. One of the best filets we have had in a long time at a reasonable price. The wine list is extensive and the Sommelier's on site, Kat, is amazing. Love this place. Highly suggest you check it out.
The prime rib sandwich could not have been better: perfect portion, delicious au jus, excellent horseradish sauce. Really impossible to improve on this one, and I say that as someone who always gets the sliced steak sandwich. Service is spot on. It's a little pricey for lunch, but no more expensive than the other steak joints in Dallas
16.50 for a Patron Margarita is way too expensive!
The Hall is so consistently good that it is hard to pick anywhere else for a steak. However, I love their chicken too. Trinity Grove has after dinner options for live music too so it's fun to spend the whole night there.
Great service and excellent food. Nice atmosphere. Would definitely go back again. The steak was excellent and cooked perfectly.
The Hall has an outstanding selection of wines and spirits, but their whiskey menu is off the charts good. The food was delicious. The brussels sprouts were wonderful. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly to our order and had liberal amounts of butter to make it more savory. The asparagus also had plenty of butter and were nice and crisp without being undercooked.
This will definitely make the restaurant rotation again!
5 star service at the bar. At the table our server was working hard, but at times seemed a bit impatient with us. Not enough to cut her tip, but a little less cheekiness and she’d have earned a 5 star service rating instead of a 4. We will return and would be happy to have the same server. Life is hard. Maybe she was just having a tough evening.
I was recommended to this restaurant by a friend for my wife's birthday. Not only were we not disappointed, we were amazed. We had the special 30oz aged Porterhouse that we split, and it was plenty enough. Everything was delicious and well worth the price. The steak was amazing, and whatever spice rub they use was worth trying to find the secret of. This food was equal to a top notch steakhouse for half the price. I was so impressed that I told my wife that all I wanted to do for my birthday was return here.
We sat as the restaurant opened for brunch and were greeted by warm and friendly faces. The Chicken noodle soup was AMAZING, as well as the Prime Rib Sandwich and Steak and Eggs. The service was great and the crowd was small in the afternoon.
Was visiting from out of state and felt like Longhorn was better with similar price point but much better food. Very disappointing. Food wasn’t well seasoned. Potatoes were hard and bland. Steak cooked at wrong temperature - the new one was much better. The server tried but lacked luster and wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu and how dishes were prepared.
The Hall is a go to for my husband and I, our family and friends. We recommend to everyone we know. The bar is amazing; the staff fantastic and the food is never disappointing. Whatever the occasion, if you want a great steak, burger , salad or just a quick snack- don’t miss this place. James Rose creates a great overall experience !!!
