The Guild exemplifies a new and exciting take on the finest traditions of butchery, cookery and bar-keeping. The name is inspired by guild halls from the past, which served as a meeting places and secret societies for artists and merchants. Our first meal at the guild was spectacular, so we brought some foodie friends the next time out. This time the food was so-so. The poutine, which was amazing the first time, was not eaten by one of the diners this time around. The chicken fried rice was an odd presentation, and was tender, but was not really seasoned and was bland.

Always great food here. The steak frites (both tri-tip and strip loin) is the best in the city. Highly recommend doing the strip loin Chicago style as not many steakhouses do it so well. The sloe gin fizz is a great refreshing drink. One of our favorite places now and never have had a bad meal. Highly recommended!

Server not very thorough with outlining all menu options (ie Prix Fixe, specials, etc.). Food wasn’t perfect for everyone. Corned beef meal WAY too salty. Sausage main was just OK. Overpriced wine by the glass.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with a colleague. She had the steak salad and I had their new flatbread. I did want steak, so they put some strips on the flatbread for me. Both meals were excellent!

Great food and wine. Service was excellent and the waitress and chef were very accommodating in substituting the vegetable with our meals and it was excellent substitute. Would highly recommend the Brisket.

Guild is a great place to head after work for a delicious bite to eat. We love the beet salad (add steak) and get it all the time. The bread pudding is delicious - definitely something to share though as it is massive!

Really enjoy the ambiance The Guild has to offer but was disappointed with the slow and inattentive service we received. Most of the food was delicious but the steak was tough and not cooked as requested.

Cobb salad for $19 was very unsubstantial. Though the chicken was good, it felt like it was rotisserie chicken I could get from Costco, and the amount of chicken was very small. For $19 I would have expected much more. Typically Cobb salads are quite filling and have a variety of different toppings, I didn’t find this to be the case. Service was great.

Unfortunately the service was very poor. No one checked on our food. And we had to flag down a different server to order more drinks. When we talked to the manager about the service, He was just as unhelpful as our waitress. Very disappointing.

Was looking forward to going here as heard so many great reviews. We had a set menu for the Big Taste and maybe it's just the set menu that needed some spiffying up, but I was not sold. The food was somewhat cold and nothing really mind blowing. Staff was very pleasant

Super impressed with the Guild! Service was impeccable. We arrived 15+ minutes before our reso, totally expecting to wait, they moved things around and sat us immediately. Our server was excellent, personable, and knowledgeable. Drinks came out very quick, and appy was also out within a couple minutes of ordering. She was able to check on us often without seeming intrusive. Very enjoyable.
Now the food! Was sooooooo good! Hand made sausage role to start, pastry was flaky and fresh, and complimented the pork, which is sourced from a small, local family run, cruelty free pig farm... I LOVE that! The sauce that came with it was so good, don’t even know what it was.
Baby back ribs..... whoa! Seriously the best I’ve had. So perfectly cooked, I was able to split them with my hands, didn’t need a knife, yet they held together, were not greedy or falling apart. The glaze was to die for, and the blackened sesame seeds were this perfect touch of crunch and texture. The Asian poutine was this amazing, light (not heavy like real gravy) sweet/spicy touch that just made the meal. I ordered a side of local heirloom carrots, which were perfectly cooked, not soggy, and flavoured to perfection. So sad I was too full for dessert!!!
I will go back again!

Everything was fine...we got a bit of a “look” when we didn’t order wine with lunch, though...that’s never pleasant. Was happy with the menu options as I needed a non-meat dish, and loved the salmon sandwich! Food is always great here!

Great food, have the porterhouse or ribeye to share! The Grilled calamari is outstanding and you'll be in heaven with a mouth full of smoky mash.

This was our second time visiting in the last couple months but were a little shocked when the sommelier spilled a small amount of my glass of wine when pouring from the carafe and did not top it back up or replace my glass? My wife and I had a bet on whether they would take the glass off the bill or offer us a free desert. We both lost. But the server did mention she would kid him about it? We won’t rush back.

We went out for Valentines dinner, our table was ready for us, service was a tiny bit slow until we got our drinks, then was fantastic from that point on. Our server was knowledgeable and went above and beyond our expectations. Overall, it was an excellent meal, great drinks and at a reasonable price. We will be back for sure.

I greatly anticipated dining at The Guild after hearing my husband’s raves from business functions. We were excited about the eclectic menu options and ready for adventure. Unfortunately, this was a trip we both wished we hadn’t taken.

Our appetizers were tasty but the main course, in my case was an unfortunate pairing of flavours (Salt Cod), and in my husbands case was unforgivingly salty (Corned Beef). He expected salty but it was over the top.

The service was great and they did remove my husband’s largely unfinished meal from the bill, which was nicely unexpected, but neither one of us would rush back for another go.

The ambience and feeling of this restaurant was well thought out. The server was helpful but not intrusive. The food was well timed and tasty.

Tried their lunch service and wasn’t disappointed. The food was tasty and came out in a reasonable time.

Also acknowledged the request we had about eating gluten free and was very surprised with a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl !

Special thanks to our server Valerie who was very attentive and who took very good care of us. The host who welcomed us were also very warm and made sure we had a great time. Thank you so much!

We really enjoyed the 4 course Valentines meal. The food was awesome and it was Wednesday so some wines were half price, making it reasonably priced. One major drawback was the price of a single glass of wine, a 9oz Chardonnay was $24! That’s ridiculous! They should have a few reasonably priced choices.
