The Guest House
Super cute and great food. Good service though we felt rushed at the end when she took the table off the table.
This place is a gem. We went to the restaurant to try a new place for Valentine’s Day dinner. It was lovely, from how it appeals from the street, the decor and ambience when you walk in, the warm greeting and seating you get, to everyone being top of their game with service whether they are assigned to your table or not. Our waitress Kelly was phenomenal as well, loved our conversations with her. We also were placed in a more quiet area to the left side of the entrance, and I liked this because the other side has much more table space and was a bit noisy from all the patrons. We sat next to a shelf of top notch chef cookbooks, several of which we ended up looking through and ordering from Amazon while we were having dinner because they are chefs my husband adores.
We had their roasted squash soup special, mussels (which my husband said were THE best he’s ever had and he has high standards for seafood), steak with au gratin potatoes (who even does au gratin anymore?! they were a nice addition), and the fondue dessert special (picture attached). I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. What a great place!! We’ve also been recommending it now to whomever will listen.
Holidays like Valentines can be challenging for restaurants and their guests, what with special menu creations and higher customer expectations. The Guest House was comfortably casual, efficient, delicious but most of all fun. It deserves its high rating.
We love this place. The menus is small but the food is fantastic! Great place in the community
Tasty food, good attentive service. Unique vegetable dishes. Steak was cooked very well and very good
This was our first visit and we're so happy we came and can't wait to return. The Lamb Bolognese, winter pizza, sausage pizza, beet salad, and Brussels sprouts were all delicious. The burger was disappointing. Quite a nice wine and beer list! A bit louder than we prefer when full, but tolerable. Nice find!
Had a great evening meeting old friends. Shrimp appetizer and Brussels sprouts were awesome. First time trying the bleu pizza- yum!! Always a great vibe. We’ll be back soon!
Menu sounded good. Pizza was burned, chicken pot pie was bland and the potatoes inside were undercooked. Beet salad was unremarkable. This was not a good value. I like the location and the offerings but not the way they were prepared.
We arrived early, but they were very accommodating and seated us right away. Friendly service, great food, large portions, and fairly priced. Will go there again.
The staff is always so nice here and the food is consistently wonderful. Everyone we bring or suggest it to really likes it. Has become one of our favorite places to dine!
So grateful to have this lovely, locally-owned restaurant nearby. We've always experienced thoughtful and delicious food and drinks plus warm and friendly service at The Guest House.
Went to the Guest House on a whim after seeing great reviews (a little farther from home than we usually roam). What a great find. Excellent cocktails, food and service. Loved the vibe as well! energetic but not overly loud. Quite a few things on the menu to go back and try! We'll definitely be back!
Always a great time at one my my local faves! Can’t say enough about it. Makes you feel like you are at home.
The squash soup was wonderful. The grilled cheese and arugula salad were pretty pedestrian. Love the decor and ambiance.
Loved celebrating New Years Eve with Mike & his gang. Really appreciate the regular menu versus the hyper expensive menu at other venues.
Always hits the spot. Hot, fresh NW cuisine in a cozy space. Chef-owner Kevin and his loyal front house run a tight ship. Expect excellence. My fav this month is the grilled brussels with apple. Or maybe the cioppino. Or the freshly baked, grilled bread...
I have truly come to love Guest House. I’ve been there dinner several times, and this was our first brunch. It did not disappoint. This is a neighborhood gem, with a delightful menu, fresh baked goods, outstanding cocktails and incredible service. The space is small, so I highly recommend the reservations.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was so cute. The only problem was the parking. There is not nearly enough parking so we had to park far away and walk.
Was there only once for dinner. Parking lot was small and awkward. Felt rushed by some of the staff and did not enjoy what I ordered. A sweet potato, cauliflower lentil dish that was supposed to be one of their signature dishes. Way too rich for me. Looked like a great place for cocktails tho.
This is a great place for every meal of the day. Food is awesome and some how drinks are even better.
We were surprised at how busy the restaurant was on a very rainy Wednesday night, Parking was limited, but close. The experience was fun and the food very good. The waiter could have been a bit more attentive, but allowance should be made considering how busy they were. In all, a very good experience and we will return.
The Guest House is always a great time with great food.
We were sat right by the front door which was SO cold! Should have asked to move us but oh well.
It wasn’t full either so not sure why they did that.
Service was SLOW! never refilled our water glasses and took forever to even get our initial drinks.
Food was good however.
Awesome as always! I love the mussels!
One of my hotspots! Love The entire team here. Great food, great people, cocktails are on-point!
We will definitely go back
Excellent food! Outstanding service and great Atmosphere!
Loved the hot rum cider. Loved the vegan entree. The server was super friendly.
Have been here a couple of times and have really enjoyed myself. Service is good and genuine. Food is excellent and well-priced. Found the restaurant itself a little chilly. Plus, not a huge fan of the hard wooden chairs. Kudos to the owner though for creating a wonderful neighborhood spot. I imagine they'll be opening another soon. They seem to have the formula for success.
Cozy wood fire atmosphere. Family run restaurant with modern ambiance. Delicious food and quiet, so able to enjoy conversation.
Best cioppino ever! This is one of my favorite dishes so I'm pretty picky about how it is prepared because you can really mess it up. The spices were just right, the sauce was heavenly, the seafood was a good mix of shellfish and regular fish. The grilled bread on the side is the perfect accompaniment. It could not have been better! Loved it!
I love the coziness of this room, the staff is efficient and friendly, and the food is consistently good.
Eating at the Guest House always feels special. The food is carefully prepared and delicious!
There is much that could be wonderful about The Guest House, but after two visits, I am sure it just is not wonderful. There are lots of cheerful staff members, but they seem to swirl around in Brownian motion or hang out near the entry way and make each other laugh. Serving customers happens now and then, only when they get around to it. Both times we’ve made a reservation and been on time. Both visits we’ve waited 20 minutes to half an hour before a table is ready- even when we can see empty tables. The noise level is crazy loud- you have to yell to be heard by table mates so it just gets louder. The food is pretty expensive and just not all that great. Last Friday’s cioppino was short on seafood and broth but long on tomato sauce and onions. The burger was tasty but GIGANTIC - more than any human needs at one meal. The mountain of fries were excellent, but a mountain. The roast chicken with vinegary tangy apples was fine; the polenta with it was bland. Any shortcomings of the food could easily be overlooked if the service was good, but it was abysmal.
Every time we come here we're impressed. Great, healthy food & excellent service.
Great service. Great food. Chairs are a little hard for my liking. Overall gem of a restaurant on the middle of a restaurant desert
Great little restaurant near St Ed's. The food is well done, just not a huge menu and my squash chanterelle risotto was a little bland. The fried chickpeas were awesome and their fries are always good. Like the wines by the glass and usually always have an IPA on draught. Great little spot to go and worth a try if you haven't been there.
Such a charming, neighborhood restaurant! Extremely friendly service, amazing menu, craft cocktails, and a true hidden gem. Will return again and again and again!
Fantastic farmhouse style restaurant.
Yummy breakfast options! Very friendly staff. Good neighborhood restaurant.
