Our vision for The Grumpy Rabbit is to serve both Lonoke residents as well as people from surrounding communities and visitors passing through town. We want Lonoke to thrive and be prosperous and believe that leading by example and running a successful business will attract others to the area and inspire similar investment. Our hope for The Grumpy Rabbit is that as an anchor for revitalization, it will become a central location that draws foot traffic to historic downtown Lonoke. It was just “OK”. The Red fish was way over cooked to the point it was burned. I hated to say something but even the waitress noticed it. She took it back and the next piece was raw. I had the ribeye and it was good. The sides were good but again, nothing that was better than many other places. The dessert was very good. I’ve heard very good things about this place, maybe we just got it on a bad day. I also heard they got a new chef. Undecided if we will return.

We came for brunch, late in the day, so it was quiet. There are multiple dining areas which are each unique. We dined at the window table with a view of the Main Street. The brunch Bloody Mary was spot on including a spiced salted rim and a garnish that included an okra! Refreshing and tasty. All 4 entrees were good. The avocado toast was creative and much lighter than most. The toast was grilled thin soft pumpernickel, I think. It was garnished with mint. My companions ordered biscuits and gravy, swamp grits and corned beef hash that included top notch hollandaise. All we’re pleased. Service was delightful and efficient. The art work throughout was and additional treat for the senses. We’re planning a return visit for dinner!

Our first visit was during Covid. It was pleasant but the prospect of a 35 minute drive from a home that is blocks from the city's "restaurant row" just proves too daunting. The arrival of a new chef whose food we have been very fond was just the impetus we needed. As hoped, the food offering was uniquely inviting for the region and beautifully composed. What was particularly interesting was the involvement, by name, of the culinary team in the menu items. The wait staff is delightfully local but still a work in progress as they become familiar with a more complex menu requiring well-timed delivery. Did not have a chance to try the bar but the pre-set wines were very nice.

OMGoodness. We had heard from friends and social media how good it was and we were not disappointed. The Mother's Day lunch was exceptional. I ordered the Cornish Hen and it was huge. My husband had the salmon and said it was very good. My son said the Petit Jean ham was good, but boring compared to the other entrees. Of course, the dessert choices were over-the-top. The carrot cake is my new favorite. This was our first visit, but we will be back.

I recently ate the GR and was disappointed. The menu online was not the same as the menu on the table and when we asked if we could order off the online menu, we were told we couldn’t because the chef changed it and the online menu hadn’t updated yet. We also asked about the soup of the day (on the correct menu) and was told there wasn’t a soup for the day. On a Saturday. The drinks had hardly any alcohol in them. The grits were dry; the salmon salad had maybe 5 bits of shredded salmon in it; and the mashed potatoes had no flavor.

We had a great experience at The Grumpy Rabbit. Food was very good, it would’ve been nice to get rolls or bread while waiting. A little on the pricier side for what you get. Drinks were really good. They did seem to be out of several things. Noise level upstairs was a little loud. Overall really enjoyed dinner.

Didn’t see a baked potato offered on the menu to go with my rib eye. French fries was just wrong for a rib eye! The noise upstairs was unreal! The Lonoke homies apparently thought they were outside. Do they not have an inside voice? Our table couldn’t even hear each other due to them being so loud! Pretty sure the owner was part of the group! There are no acoustics upstairs and with a high ceiling the Lonoke homies voices took over! Occurred. April 29, 2023 around 7:45 or later.

We got there 20 min before our reservation. They first seated us by the front door when there were plenty of open tables. We asked to be seated upstairs so they seated us in the back by the elevator door. Again there were plenty of open tables. We asked for Tito vodka in a drink. They said they were out. We asked for mozzarella sticks from the menu. They were out of several choices in the appetizers & entrees. I ordered blackened chicken with penne & Alfredo sauce. I got grilled chicken with penne & cheese sauce. My guest ordered blackened redfish with tomato risotto & purple rice. It was a very small amount & way over cooked. Needless to say we will not be back. Very disappointing.

We went to eat for my husband’s birthday. It took almost an hour to get our appetizers and almost 2 hours to get our meals. When the food finally arrived, the bacon on one of our burgers was almost raw. The ribeye was half fat. Our server did give us free dessert, but the manager should have been notified. We frequent the Grumpy Rabbit for most of our special occasions and hate that it was such a poor experience.

Great local place of character. We drove an hour to get there. The food was well presented and very tasty. The entrees were the best--shrimp, crawfish, and fish in a spicy sauce over a creamy cheese grits! My first time for an entree with grits and I was pleasantly surprised. The cosmopolitan beverage was bitter, lukewarm, and needed a bit more sweet. The tomatoe bisque was not inspiring and I don't recommend unless the chef develops more zip. But the deserts--the very best! A peanut butter pie was fabulous! I took carrot cake "to go" for later and could not help myself---I was eating it at midnight. I highly recommend everyone make the journey and try The Grumpy Rabbit!

My wife and I were celebrating our 49th anniversary. From being greeted by Hannah at the front door to our server and unfortunately I forgot her name but she was fantastic. We tried the crab cakes for the first and they were amazing. We live in Lonoke and we try our best to support our local businesses . We will be back.

Awesome place for a Sunday Brunch. Menu choices were well thought out. The Black-eyed Pea Hummus was great. I had the Swamp Grits and I had to force myself to step away from the plate. So good! The Apple 'Turnover' with ice cream was excellent. Great staff and I personally can't wait to go back!

We were so disappointed in the food. We had been a few times before; however, since the turnovers in chef’s the food had gone downhill. Gouda Mac recipe changed and major upset. The duck was undercooked, rubbery and lacking flavor. The blackened steak was full of fat and chewy. A shame because we took guest there to celebrate a birthday that had never been. We will not be returning.

First time. Excellent service. Had the hummus and rice balls for appetizers. Hummus was excellent with a little kick. Rice balls very creative but one was still frozen in the center. Wine was surprisingly good at appropriate temperature. Very good variety. Had the special, sea bass, was absolutely perfect….fresh, cooked perfectly, well seasoned. I’ve not had better on either coast. Steak as good as any high end steak house. Dessert carrot cake a favorite for a reason. We are definitely going to put this on our fun/fine dining rotation.
