I recently celebrated my birthday with a few friends at the Grove . We had a great time . The food was delicious and the service was on point .
Food was marginal, service was okay but the building & decor is beautiful.
Excellent venue and food was amazing. Have to say a few words about our server Ben. I have a gluten intolerance and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He also checked out the desserts and had recommendations based on our specific needs ready to go. Outside entertainment and seating was great as well and a perfect getaway for a date with my wife.
Wonderful restaurant, great food!
Food Delicious, atmosphere Beautiful , service fabulous, music was horrible. The band played really good but hardly even played. I think they took more breaks then even playing music. My husband and I came for date night to eat and sit outside to listen to music and they was just really disappointed with the music. We definitely want to come back just hoping the music situation will be different. Thanks
On this, my first visit to The Grove, the hostess apparently inadvertently canceled my reservation instead of checking me in. I called the restaurant a few times and was ultimately able to find someone who was able to rectify the situation so I could get my Open Table points. (I had to make another reservation, which was then checked in.)
As for the dining experience, The Grove is absolutely beautiful. We sat in the covered indoor patio area, which overlooks the lovely grounds. I had a simple lunch of BLT and Chicken Poblano soup. Both were delicious, although the soup was not heated through and was room-temperature at best. It had a very good flavor, though, and I do recommend it. I hope those little glitches were simply a one-time thing, so I do plan to revisit The Grove.
Service was sub par. Waiter (female) nice but head wasn’t in the game at all. Waited a while before she appeared and another waiter (male) noticed and brought us water and took our order. Seemed like she wasn’t communicating with him as to what we ordered, etc.
Side note - Personally, we don’t enjoy looking at tatted up arms, piercings, etc. during our dining experience. Best if covered by long sleeves, etc. just our opinion.
Great outdoor venue. Especially enjoyed the live music. A great local talent.
This restaurant was a wonderful surprise that we found when in Tyler on a business trip. Absolutely amazing venue with small vignettes of seating both inside and outdoors that gave a rather large space a very personal experience. We were very impressed with the diversity of the menu and would highly recommend the shrimp and grits, as well as, the redfish with asparagus and wild mushroom risotto. We were offered a relaxed, enjoyable dining experience and can only hope for another trip to Tyler so we can go again!
Food, waitstaff, ambience is/was always awesome. It was just extremely loud this time around. I know that is know The Groves fault. It was hard to visit due to how long the other table was. Other than that a great experience always!
Everything was perfect except a little noisy🤔 That won’t keep us from going back! We love it there!
We had a special evening with another couple. The chicken fried quail is a great appetizer & the flat iron steak is outstanding! Be sure & indulge in the dessert-/ the creme brûlée is amazing!
Noise level was deafening! We considered leaving as soon as we sat down. Food is average at best. Service was barely there. Biggest petpieve - highly unfriendly for vegetarian. Everything is prepared with animal fats and broths. The mac & cheese they promised was free of animal fats/broths, arrived with bacon. Do better for you hype and prices Grove! It’s 2019.
Great service...great atmosphere
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was awesome, my server was great, I will be returning soon.
Our party of 4 had a most enjoyable meal at The Grove. We were seated in the covered patio area which was quite pleasant. We were honored to have Xavier as our server--he was most attentive. The food was outstanding! My pan seared chicken breast with whipped potatoes and green beans exceeded my expectations. We will definitely recommend The Grove for a quality dining experience.
We were first timers, and weren’t quite sure what to expect! There was a live band that was incredible, and the ambiance of the place was remarkable. We didn’t pick the best dishes, but we didn’t let that ruin the experience we will definitely be back!
Amazing! Loved brunch!
We enjoy the Grove every time we go there. The food and service are always exemplary.
Food was good. It was a business lunch so it was great atmosphere for business. Waiter got my food wrong, but it was corrected quickly and it was delicious. Didn't really like new menu. The board is huge and kind of big for the table. Liked some of the old items from previous menu and they didn't seem as expensive. But I believe everyone enjoyed their lunch.
The noise level in the indoor patio area is way too loud. The service is good but the kitchen cannot keep up with the orders. I would recommend but I would make sure they are not in a hurry!
Had a special night with friends here. Will be visiting again soon.
We all had the red snapper and asparagus risotto which was fabulous. The beet salad recommended by our server, was short on goat cheese and beets and a little on the pricey side. The bar area is beautiful and we had a “to die for” old fashioned which is the best I have ever had. A live band, Six Miles to Mixon (and the reason for our visit) performed outside. The ambience and environment, design and decor is like no where else in this town. The food can be hit or miss at times, but the entree we ate during this visit will be a favorite and warrant a repeat visit. The service was also great.
The food and service was outstanding as it has been every time. However they have an issue with the live music being played on Sunday afternoon brunch. We we're sitting on the inside patio and the base from the live music was very annoying coupled with an entirely different music being played inside. It was so loud we had a hard time carrying on a conversation. It was acoustically assaulting. Finally we asked if we could be moved further inside which they did. I could not understand how the management could stand for it.
Food is ok for east TX
The full menu was not available at brunch. Food was good, but not epic. Staff was so-so. Slightly disappointed based on my expectations.
A little piece of paradise in East Texas. It’s like Cabo’s Flora Farm meets Dallas’ Katy Trail Ice House and then it gets a fancy remodel. The Grove is our favorite place in East Texas and they have been so accommodating and wonderful throughout the years! We drive from Dallas to go to this gem and it is 100% worth the drive!!!!!!
Snapper was delicious, but flat irons steak was tough. Great reasonable wines. Outstanding decor and ambience. Lovely menu.
Birthday lunch - great place to visit
Great meal, loved the meat and cheese tray. Perfect ribeye! Shrimp and grits were fantastic. Our server was polite, made great suggestions, and knew just when to be there. Very happy with our experience!
the restaurant was very busy and there were not enough bartenders to service the crowd. The waiter told us they were short staffed (we probably didn't need to know that since we could do nothing about it) and that they were backed up. Instead when we sat he could/should have told us that they were backed up at the bar and not to order food if we wanted a cocktail first. We got both cocktail and food at the same time. we will return but not when it's overly crowded.
Nice seating for Father’s Day
Cool place. Food was good. We had some trouble with the service but it worked out.
Great place to go and hang out and have a good meal!
It was perfect all around. Always has been each time I’ve been there. That’s all you really need to know.
We've been to the Grove Several times since it's opening. We really love the place, but we really miss some of the staple menu items for brunch. Regular BLT vs. a Salmon BLT. The Pigs in a Blanket seemed microwaved and the bread had the microwave chewy texture. Regular Shrimp and Grits vs. blackened shrimp with jalapeno grits. We dine in for brunch for the brunch atmosphere.
Please bring back the staple menu items that have kept us coming back since the opening. The service was excellent this time. Cassandra was very attentive and polite.
Food was excellent! Tasted wonderful....but it was pricey.
View was nice from glassed in patio. Moved to bar area which I love.
Great lunch with a good friend at a lovely venue. Fine afternoon!!
The ambiance was fabulous. Great bar. Great drink selection. We had fun playing outdoor games while listening to fabulous live band. Wish they had a few vegan options but very accommodating.
This was our third time to dine at The Grove. We very much enjoy the place. Wonderful building, bar area (quite large), gardens, furnishings, food, games for young and not-as-young alike! The service can be slow and this time there was a mistake made in providing the food that was ordered. But even the wrong salad was good. When we are in Tyler we most certainly will return to The Grove.
This was our first visit to The Grove and were very impressed. We sat outdoors and liked it very much.
The food was very good but myself and brother in law were not impressed with our drinks. He sent his whiskey sour back for some sour and my bloody mary was not very good. The food however we were very impressed with and we will return. Thank you
