We all had the red snapper and asparagus risotto which was fabulous. The beet salad recommended by our server, was short on goat cheese and beets and a little on the pricey side. The bar area is beautiful and we had a “to die for” old fashioned which is the best I have ever had. A live band, Six Miles to Mixon (and the reason for our visit) performed outside. The ambience and environment, design and decor is like no where else in this town. The food can be hit or miss at times, but the entree we ate during this visit will be a favorite and warrant a repeat visit. The service was also great.
The food and service was outstanding as it has been every time. However they have an issue with the live music being played on Sunday afternoon brunch. We we're sitting on the inside patio and the base from the live music was very annoying coupled with an entirely different music being played inside. It was so loud we had a hard time carrying on a conversation. It was acoustically assaulting. Finally we asked if we could be moved further inside which they did. I could not understand how the management could stand for it.
Food is ok for east TX
The full menu was not available at brunch. Food was good, but not epic. Staff was so-so. Slightly disappointed based on my expectations.
A little piece of paradise in East Texas. It’s like Cabo’s Flora Farm meets Dallas’ Katy Trail Ice House and then it gets a fancy remodel. The Grove is our favorite place in East Texas and they have been so accommodating and wonderful throughout the years! We drive from Dallas to go to this gem and it is 100% worth the drive!!!!!!
Snapper was delicious, but flat irons steak was tough. Great reasonable wines. Outstanding decor and ambience. Lovely menu.
Birthday lunch - great place to visit
Great meal, loved the meat and cheese tray. Perfect ribeye! Shrimp and grits were fantastic. Our server was polite, made great suggestions, and knew just when to be there. Very happy with our experience!
the restaurant was very busy and there were not enough bartenders to service the crowd. The waiter told us they were short staffed (we probably didn't need to know that since we could do nothing about it) and that they were backed up. Instead when we sat he could/should have told us that they were backed up at the bar and not to order food if we wanted a cocktail first. We got both cocktail and food at the same time. we will return but not when it's overly crowded.
Nice seating for Father’s Day
Cool place. Food was good. We had some trouble with the service but it worked out.
Great place to go and hang out and have a good meal!
It was perfect all around. Always has been each time I’ve been there. That’s all you really need to know.
We've been to the Grove Several times since it's opening. We really love the place, but we really miss some of the staple menu items for brunch. Regular BLT vs. a Salmon BLT. The Pigs in a Blanket seemed microwaved and the bread had the microwave chewy texture. Regular Shrimp and Grits vs. blackened shrimp with jalapeno grits. We dine in for brunch for the brunch atmosphere.
Please bring back the staple menu items that have kept us coming back since the opening. The service was excellent this time. Cassandra was very attentive and polite.
Food was excellent! Tasted wonderful....but it was pricey.
View was nice from glassed in patio. Moved to bar area which I love.
Great lunch with a good friend at a lovely venue. Fine afternoon!!
The ambiance was fabulous. Great bar. Great drink selection. We had fun playing outdoor games while listening to fabulous live band. Wish they had a few vegan options but very accommodating.
This was our third time to dine at The Grove. We very much enjoy the place. Wonderful building, bar area (quite large), gardens, furnishings, food, games for young and not-as-young alike! The service can be slow and this time there was a mistake made in providing the food that was ordered. But even the wrong salad was good. When we are in Tyler we most certainly will return to The Grove.
This was our first visit to The Grove and were very impressed. We sat outdoors and liked it very much.
The food was very good but myself and brother in law were not impressed with our drinks. He sent his whiskey sour back for some sour and my bloody mary was not very good. The food however we were very impressed with and we will return. Thank you
Overall we really enjoy the Grove as one of our go-to spots in the Tyler area. they are trying out a new menu and there were a couple of items not yet available.
Wonderful dining experience - beautiful establishment - fabulous food (I ordered the chicken and pasta) and exceptional service. Experienced an issue with noise, but the staff and management was quick to remedy the situation and really went above and beyond our expectations. I would highly recommend The Grove to folks who are looking for a special place to spend an evening.
Our second dinner at The Grove in as many weeks. It goes without saying that it's the prettiest restaurant in East Texas and rivals anything in Dallas, Austin or Houston. The food both trips was outstanding. Highly recommend soup of the day -- they were different both trips and the turkey corn chowder Saturday night was especially yummy. Deviled eggs were also great. Our table had the salmon and spicy pork loin w/grilled corn and no one left a crumb. State fair fried pie is a keeper! Tyler is lucky to have such a classy & tasty destination.
Most of the experience was enjoyable. The food is good, and the service is acceptable. The last time I went, I left completely annoyed. I was dining with my wife and two children, who are both teens. I had finished my meal and the waiter cleared my plate. But then, another woman, I'm not sure what her role was, began grabbing the children's plates, which still had food on them. She grabbed them and was gone so fast that we couldn't explain to her that we would like to have the rest of the meal. My wife was the only one sitting at the table who was still eating. We didn't see the waiter again until I flagged him for the check. I have a feeling that we will not return to The Grove. That's sad because we usually have a good experience there.
Holy cow. Super disappointed in the Grove. First, they got rid of the complimentary bacon at brunch. Secondly, because the Grove has been our go to brunch spot for 2 years now, we took my parents when they came into town. Only, we found out once there that they got rid of their full brunch menu (which was incredible, quality and taste). So instead of leaving, like we wanted to, we stuck around to try it out. Terrible. Quality of food has gone down. Not great options for brunch. And they don’t even do the real MVPs of the Grove brunch anymore: the homemade biscuits. We will not be coming back to the Grove or recommending it until they do better like they used to do.
Good not as good as the last time we came a year ago. Lots and lots of misspellings on the menu - FYI. Still love the “feel” of the Grove!
The patio room was hot and muggy to the point of uncomfortable. The mac and cheese felt more like just mac. However, even with those two glaring negatives, this was the best meal I've had in Tyler since I moved here 7 months ago. The steak was one of the best I've ever had and the balsamic gravy was divine. The drinks were amazing and the atmosphere was simultaneously classy and relaxed. The price point might be just on the high side for what you get, but it is lower than Dakota's or TX de Brazil and, in my humble opinion, the meal overall exceeded both slightly. I will be returning, but we will sit inside and we won't order the mac and cheese and all will be well.
We were there to celebrate a birthday. We had reservations and had to wait quite a while. Service was poor. Wait for food was extremely long. Coffee was cold. Food was wrong and brought out slowly. Not sure I’ll be returning.
Sat outside with friends for brunch and had a great time. Food was excellent and service was very good.
The outdoor seating is great and the landscape is beautiful. The children running around is disturbing to couples trying to have a quiet romantic evening. Food is good but to me way overpriced for what you receive. $24 for a standard portion of salmon that was undercooked is too me too much. Could not hear the music as all the people and children were overwhelming. Could be a great date night if they would put adults with children in an area away from couples.
Nice. As the evening progressed, it did get noisy. Food was good; not sure it was worth price. Not much of a choice for red blend wine. Service very good.
This was a toss up. Great venue and great staff but mediocre food at a high price. It took 15 minutes to get our cocktails and we finished our appetizers before our drinks arrived. The bowl of soup was more like a cup portion. We had to send mac and cheese back because it was cold. Did not have the heart to send it back again because it was still cold but ate it anyways. The fried pie was dry with little fruit and ice cream was mostly melted. Good thing I was a visitor from out of town thus no reason to go back.
Took forever to get our drinks. Music was too loud. Waiter was unfamiliar with the menu. Ordered our food and it took over an hour to come out and when it did Our macaroni was burned. This is the third time we’ve not had a good experience here.
Beautiful venue. Waitress was not the caliber for the price and venue. Waitress did not have knowledge of the menu - food or drink, and did not have knowledge of restaurant. Just a side note -outside only half the trees lit up, all have lights, I don’t know if it was by design, but the patio was very dark when sun went down.
This was my first time - recommended by a friend. I took a work colleague who was visiting from out of town to dinner on a Sunday evening. We both absolutely LOVED it!!! Feels like a country club with gorgeous grounds - the staff is extremely well-trained, professional, friendly. Decor is fabulous. Cocktail options are fun, and the food - well - it was second to none. Can't wait to return! 900% recommend.
Love the atmosphere, service , and ribeye was out of this world.
I love this restaurant. Not only is the food great, the ambiance is amazing. I love the way this restaurant is set up from the furnishings to the lighting to the indoor/outdoor seating.
Always a great experience!
We arrived a little after 6:30pm for a 6:45 table reservation. We had to wait a few minutes for the table to be ready, no problem. The outdoor area was very nice, and we were thankfully seated in the shade. We didn't have any problems with hearing our conversation. The food was excellent. The live band didn't begin until after we were finished with our meal, so we moved to the seating area to listen for a bit. If you want to enjoy the full atmosphere, set your reservations for 7:45 or later. Our server was pleasant, not overly attentive. Beautiful spot.
It was very eclectic and family friendly. They have an area outside for kids to play while mom and dad relax. They have outdoor and semi outdoor seating for casual or fancy dining. Food was great. We sampled several things, quail appetizer. Salads.
Sunday lunch with my wife...had a great time! Ordered hummus as our appetizer and then I had tamales “with eggs on top. Who wouldn’t love that!!
Wait staff was extremely attentive...my wife ordered a traditional breakfast and the bacon was delivered limp. (She had NOT requested crisp). I asked if they could bring crisp. They did, very quickly, and it was delicious, seriously!
Had a great Sunday meal...
Home run! Service, atmosphere, and food was great! We’ll look forward to our next visit.
The Grove in Tyler ambiance was delightful, excellent service and great food. The building is beautiful.
