The Cafe food and drinks menu is bursting with fresh flavour, made with the finest quality ingredients and created with The Grounds own grown and locally sourced produce. The Cafe at The Grounds has team of chefs who constantly push the boundaries and reinvents the classics in order to deliver you perfect flavour combinations that will make you want to come back time and time again.

NOTE: At The Cafe, to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to dine in, we operate on a walk-in only basis for smaller tables during peak hours. If no tables are available on arrival, we will add you to an electronic waiting list and text you when your table is ready, leaving you free to explore the rest of The Grounds. Rest assured, all groups on the wait list will be able to dine-in on the day.

High Tea in the Glasshouse of Alexandria Grounds is a very special, intimate experience. From the table decor, the host looking after us, & the delicious food served it was an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended.

This was a dream of mine to visit The Grounds. So many happy people enjoying themselves. Venue so amazing and photogenic. Friendly, efficient service in The Cafe. Food and drinks nicely served. Menu varied and food tasty and good. I’ve never been to such an unusual place. We’ll be back.

The food menu is getting simpler. There aren't many choices nowadays. Had to wait for 15 mins till you get a seat though we have reservation. And there is only 45 mins for dining, but then the simplified menu probably makes sense now. The decoration the petting shed, the indoor playground and the drinks and popsicles are still attractive for kids.

I was rushed a lot. The restaurant was busy. The food is expensive, but it tastes good.

We received numerous confirmations, constantly reminding us that the booking was only one hour. We were driving from the central coast for a birthday experience for my 15 year old. I showed the girls the menu in the car on the way down. We ordered. Food arrived at 11.43am. If you pressure customers on a time limit, you should be better organised. I don’t mind waiting, but not under these strict time constraints. Food was fine, staff were fine. The Laneway was chaos. People pushing & shoving & no staff to control the situation. All in all it was a little disappointing.

Have always loved the grounds but now, wait staff incredibly rude and cold, food was nothing to rave on about ($15 for a kids meal, tiny cheeseburger and handful of chips???) And the crowds and noise made it chaotic, not ambient. Its lost its touch. Not worth the hype at all.
