Disappointed with the ribs on the new menu not enough product for the price.
Pork chop was good. Salad was old and dry. Scallops were average. Presentation was great. Server was lacking of training and didn't know the food. Atmosphere was outstanding.
Great food, great service and great atmosphere...
Great food & great service! Looking forward to going back
We would rate our dining experience as excellent. The servers were friendly, polite and very attentive. The cocktails we enjoyed before dinner were superb. Our meal was absolutely delicious. We would definitely recommend The Grille to our friends.
Friends from out of town met us there for an outdoor lunch on the patio. The views are outstanding! We each enjoyed our selections: pulled pork sandwich, veggie wrap, (incredible) mushroom soup and salad with grilled shrimp added. Let’s not forget the yummy mimosas, beers and full bar selections! Perfect for seeing the best Reno has to offer in breathtaking scenery and tasty food.
Very disappointed with the lack of ambiance for being so expensive. The food was okay, but not worth going back. The menu was small and very expensive. The service was mediocre. Again, for the price, there has to be more in every area.
Menu changed from what was advertised.
Easily the worst meal my wife and I have experienced in twenty years in Reno.
Salad greens were wilted, dressing non existent.
When we asked for some crusty bread or rolls for salad, we were told no bread was available.
Wife's entree had no starch or vegetable(s) with meat, just more salad piled on plate.
Deserts were ordinary though edible.
Entire meal was outrageously overpriced.
Wine by the glass menu was acceptable.
Great selection of entrees and food was delicious.
Sir on the deck if it’s nice weather. Beautiful!
Food: The meat was not as ordered (degree of doneness).
The delicious French onion soup was removed from the menu and replaced with
poor mushroom soup that separated in the bowl.
The artichoke was tough.
After ordering dessert, we were informed that they were out of it....wonder why
on a Friday night.
We had to ask for water refill.
I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes and spinach. Food came out and steak was raw even though I ordered it medium and the potatoes and veggies were cold. They took it back and brought a new steak which was half the size of the original with potatoes and veggies that were still cold. Unacceptable for $31.00. It also ruined the meal as my husband was done with his food by the time mine came out.
Love The Grille at Somersett. It was their prime rib night, which was amazing. Been to The Grille many times and the food is always top notch!!
The Grille at Somersett is evidently one of the best kept secrets in Reno! It is never crowded, yet serves some of the best food I have enjoyed in this vicinity. My wife and I had an outstanding lunch. She enjoyed the BLTA sandwich, and I had the best Reuben Sandwich ever! The Caribbean slaw is wonderful as is their salads. Sitting in the large chairs is extremely comfortable and enhances the experience along with the atmosphere and views outside. We will book for an evening dinner soon!
It was very nice!
Excellent food, very friendly & accommodating staff. It was St Patty’s Day so quite a bit noisier than usual but we’d highly recommend trying it out. You’ll be back!
Good variety of menu items, prompt and friendly service in an outstanding setting with a view!
Aly has been our server multiple times and she is fantastic.
The salad and brussel sprouts were very good. They came out fairly quickly. The entre's took forever to show up. I ordered Sea Bass which was extremely overcooked. I couldn't even eat it. The girls took it off our bill and gave us a desert for the trouble. I had some of my wife's Sea Scallops, which were excellent. Overall, not impressed
The restaurant was pretty empty which is a shame! The food was great and the servers were attentive!
Great food and service.... The servers were all very knowledgeable and friendly. Can't wait to return in the warmer weather and dine on the beautiful patio overlooking the golf course.
Great atmosphere and superb service! Ahi tuna was excellent but the steak kabob had tough meat. That was acknowledged and removed from our bill. Great place to relax!
We love Somersett Grille. First time we used Open Table. Great experience.
Menu is somewhat limited, but certainly something for everyone, service was good and restaurant is spotless with a commanding view of Reno, NW!
Our food was just as good as our last lunch at The Grille. However, our service was very slow. Surprising given they weren’t very busy. Because of the food we’ll give them another try but they really need to improve their customer services skills. After all, this is a golf club. I expect better.
Soup was salty, carrots were under cooked, Mashed potatoes were bland. We waited along time for cocktails to be served even though their were many staff and few patrons. Water service was poor.
The meal, we both had Moroccan short ribs, was excellent. I finally had to remind the server that I had a Martini coming. When it came, it was the worst Martini that I have ever had for $9. Won't be ordering drinks again, but will return for the food. I will have a glass of wine from now on.
We felt that The Grill might not have been observing the 35% occupancy rules for Covid. We counted nine full tables plus the bar was really really busy and full. We will only go back when its warm enough for outside dining.
Our service was outstanding the split pea soup was outstanding.
Very Deceptive business practice the night we dined here. We made a reservation over 2 weeks ahead to assure a table for Valentines Day, which was also our Anniversary. At the time we made the reservation we reviewed their on-line menu. We noted the a Fillet Steak dinner with an included salad was $31. When we got there, we were presented with a menu with only 4 choices, one of which was a Fillet Steak dinner of approximately the same size. At the bottom of the menu it was noted that all selections were $65!!!!! Really?...... over TWICE the normal price!?!
Due to the COVID epidemic, a reservation was required at ANY restaurant in our area that night, so it’s not like we could leave and select another establishment and expect to dine that night....especially on a Valentines evening. Our choices came down to paying it or going home. When we got the bill, we discovered that we had been charged extra for both the salad and the dessert, which by the the way they were presented we both thought to be included. Our total bill that night for two SMALL three course dinners, one beer, tax and tips came to $185!!!!!
We will never dine there again, and will not recommend this establishment to friends and neighbors. We left feeling ripped-off on our Anniversary night!
The view and atmosphere is outstanding. Services was great.
Food was very good but could be improved.
The mandatory 18% service fee is a little high.
Their Valentine’s menu was great. I am a vegetarian and the chef did a delicious wild mushroom pot pie. My husband had a medium rare filet that was so tender and cooked perfectly. The desserts were great too.
Seemed like they were understaffed but the staff was super nice. Food was pretty good.
We had friends from out of town. The Grille is great! High quality food. Saturday night was really busy as it was the night before Valentines Day. They ran out of a couple entree items. The staff was amazing and great ambiance!
Great food and service!
Simple burger night out close to the bar. The bar was busy with a younger group enjoying a few drinks, chatting and just enjoying a relaxing early bird special. So very nice to get out and enjoy an evening seeing other people appreciating the restaurant being open. Nice!
Loved my lunch at The Grille. The white BBQ chicken sandwich was great and the chicken was cooked perfectly.
The best thing about our dining experience was the friendliness & efficiency of the staff
I love eating here. The service is awesome and the food is very delicious. Thank you Heidi and company!
We have gone to the Grille twice in the past year, once for dinner in early 2020 and more recently for appetizers a month ago. We really liked the food and service both times. I was excited to take my son and daughter in law for breakfast last Sunday and it was a huge disappointment.
I had the Huevos Rancheros which were served on dry brittle tortillas, the sausage was overly salty and the poached eggs overcooked and dry.
My husband had steak and eggs, the meat tasted like liver.
My daughter in law had bagel and smoked salmon and the salmon looked and tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for days.
My son's breakfast burrito was the only dish which was not disappointing.
The service was slow and inattentive even though the restaurant was very quiet.
I was given the wrong check at the end of the meal and had to chase the server to get it right.
All in all, embarrassed to have taken my family there...
