Anniversary celebration, everything was perfect and the service by Jake was outstanding!

We had a fantastic time celebrating my husbands 40t birthday with his parents. Thank you! We plan to return again soon.

Overpriced, poor service and food that was only average at best

The food let us down and it made me sick all night. Not a great way to spend valentines day

Valentine Day's prix fixe menu was not worth the price. The food and dessert was not to the standard expected for the restaurant expectations.

Perfect experience. Crab cake was the best I’ve ever had. Also ordered the prime rib. I’m normally skeptical about prime rib, but I heard this one was good and it didn’t disappoint. The temperature and moisture of the meat was on point and the crust was seasoned perfectly. Will definitely return in the future

Modern, luxurious, American. A must for anyone seeking an upscale New York dinning experience that is distinctly American.

I am a regular at this restaurant. It is usually very reliable. Today, however, we waited for one hour between our appetizer and main course. Nobody came to explain or apologize. When I asked where the food was after 45 minutes, they apologized but did not give an explanation.
I would expect a restaurant of this caliber (and prices) to train its staff to pre-empt customers’ complaints and explain what’s going on without customers having to ask (the chef missed the order).
The waiter / maitre was very polite and tried to compensate by not charging me for some dishes and offering a dessert.

Great atmosphere and vibe. Love this place.

Beautiful room but mediocre and expensive food and inattentive service (I asked for coffee four times and then for a refill three times). There is nothing wrong with the place, but the only reason to go is to sit within an iconic piece of architecture.

This was an excellent venue for a business lunch. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and it was an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Would absolutely visit again.

We had mixed feelings about our recent visit to the Grill. The setting is quite wonderful, a lot of dramatic space, tables well set apart. There is a real sense of occasion. Two of the dishes we had chosen, the pasta a la presse and the chocolate dessert were different with the pasta sauce being pressed in a machine at the table and the chocolate bomb melting before our eyes. Right until the end of the meal I was very pleased that I had chosen the Grill as although it is mouth wateringly expensive for an occasion it was worth it. However when the bill came and we added the sizeable recommended tip the waiter looked at it and right in front of us glared and shook his head at us...... I left with a bad taste in my mouth. I have said I would recommend to a friend on this review as the food and setting were lovely and I feel it is unfair to slate a restaurant for one bad waiter however I don't think that I will be back as there are many wonderful alternatives where the food is as good and the service wonderful as well.

Outstanding

We love the Grill Its our 5th visit, every time we are in town we have dinner with you. This time we met the manager Felix Rodriguez and we were surprised by his excellent service.

So disappointing -- I had enjoyed a number of different business lunches and dinners at the Grill in the past several months but everything was "off" this time. The music was overly loud and completely incongruous to the setting - I don't know if they were going for a festive holiday vibe but it wasn't working at all. Most frustrating was the service which was casual and inappropriate to the setting, cuisine and prices. Maybe the professional staff was away on vacation and will return?

This is an old style grill at the highest end of great space and fabulous service. If you like an old fashioned grill this is the best

Amazing restaurant

Beautiful ambience, amazing food, extremely wonderful service. Everything was perfection. Had a spectacular dining experience and will definitely return every time I visit New York. Thank you to the Grill for making our evening so memorable.

This is the definition of a "sense of occasion" restaurant. The service, food and ambiance are all exceptional and very little has been lost in the translation from the Four Seasons. The only irritation were a couple of clowns who felt the need to document the arrival of their prime rib on their iPhones. The restaurant should find a way to discourage such asshattery.

The food was quite ordinary-certainly not to the standard of the original Four Seasons. The service was just outstanding at every level, from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. Of course, the rooms are just exquisite. The bar is also exceptional. I would recommend this to a friend for ambiance and service rather than the food.

Came here for my birthday in November. I went to the Four Seasons once, the restaurant always stood out to me for how cool the place was. Great food, impeccable service. All this has transferred to the Grill, thankfully without the required jacket. The room and service are better than before, and the food is still fantastic, with that old school vibe that is just enough modern. The bills are just as extravagant, but if you're going here you know it's gonna be a heavy night, and in my mind, worth every cent. Definitely a must go

The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. A little noisy unfortunately.

gorgeous food - the bread rolls!!! - and ambiance, breathtakingly expensive. Slightly miffed that we left an enormous tip - $150 ish - but noone acknowledged our leaving. Which makes you feel there is a perfunctory element to the service. But the room is great and we were given a fantastic table. My youngest son hailed the whole experience as the best thing we did on a week long - packed - NYC trip.

Service is impeccable. Ordered the prime rib which is available through a cart service. Huge portions - barely ate 1/4 and had to take the rest home. Delicious cocktails.
