THE GRILL is a mid-century American Chophouse created by Mario Carbone, Jeff Zalaznick and Rich Torrisi. It is housed in the only landmarked restaurant in New York inside the iconic Seagram Building and takes great inspiration from it's surroundings.
As it's name implies, the grill is meaningful to the restaurants style, service and food. Major Food Group takes great pride in celebrating the tradition of great food and great fun in one of the world's greatest restaurant spaces.

What Insiders Are Saying
The Grill is the revamp of the legendary Four Seasons restaurant, run by the people behind Carbone. It’s very similar, very expensive, and worth it.
Poor service. Mediocre food. Way overpriced for the value delivered. Eating in the pool room is like being in a morgue. Won’t return.
Incredible venue and staff, food is very expensive but good. Steaks and main dish portions are huge so should have shared more.
Sat at the bar for lunch. Was the first time I found a bartender cold.
The porterhouse was huge but pretty average.
Wonderful dinner. I was very excited for the prime rib, as we had to order it a few days in advance, but I think the lamb chops were even better than the prime rib. The crab cake was top notch and we were pleasantly surprised by the endive salad (really good!). We thought the whipped mashed potatoes were underwhelming. The pasta ala press was very cool, but a little too salty for my palate. Drinks were awesome. Service was impeccable, and the place just exudes cool, but in a classic sophisticated way.
Overall, a great place to celebrate something special.
Probably the best restaurant in NYC and top 10 globally that my wife and I have ever been to. It’s very pricy, but well worth it in regards to taste, ambiance, and service. This is a must if high prices are doable!!
A wonderful meal. Prices never short on shock value but almost worth it. It’s a great place to enjoy very well prepared food. Always consistent and a delightful atmosphere. I like it better than the pool for lunch and dinner.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. Prices are in the stratosphere! And I didn’t like the check plopped down on the table before I asked for it.
Celebrated birthday lunch at the Pool room. Requested to be seated by the “pool” and request was honored with a beautiful table.
Shared a chopped salad which was excellent. Then we both had the grilled branzino. It was delicious and a nice sized portion. Dessert was the carrot cake. Wonderful presentation and delectable.
With 2 glasses of wine and coffee, the bill came to $200 ( not including tip). Hefty but worth it for a special lunch.
Amazing place. We loved every second of our date
A memorable meal and experience. If I could give our waiter (Adam R) six stars I would!
Gracious and approachable staff, not stuffy at all. Attention to detail was off the charts. It's expensive, which is why the "value" rating wasn't a 5. Looking forward to going back!
Less than what I expected
Was probably the best dining experience I’ve ever had.
This was my first time eating at The Grill. It was a wonderful experience from the time we came in to the time we came out of the door. This is a temple of great food and top classic service. This is the place where you get what you expect!
Excelente overall, but a big but, men in short leaves t shirts ?? Horrible not even a regular shirt T shirts are for the beach no to go to the Grill
I know, business is business but more decorum would enhance the experience of many
Ps My tab for 4 persons was over $1K
From the moment we walked in till we departed the experience was sublime , yes this was a special occasion and so worth it ! The server and service was excellent , attentive to a fault ! Our appetizers were beyond delicious , we tried the oysters , foie gras ( the best we ever had ) and the pasta were a treat . Our mains were the filet mignon and my daughter had the rib eye , all delicious the sides were pretty amazing too . We stuck with cocktails through out , next time will go for the wine as their selection was awe inspiring ! Look forward to celebrating again here !
Excellent as always. We visited for thanksgiving and were happy to have our New Years celebration dinner at The grill. The staff was perfect, amazing food as always in a classic venue.
Great service experience since they open the door. Also good recommendations from the personnel.
The service is the best, very attentive staff. Food was amazing the seating area it’s nice, jazz music, very romantic.
Perfect experience as always. Our request for top seats were honoured and the food was prepared perfectly. This is my go to grill whenever i visit NYC.
Our waiter was named Justin, I believe and he was excellent! Very professional, engaging and available for us. He made our lunch even more enjoyable. The food was rxcellent. Really enjoyed The Grill.
Realmente extraordinario. Como los restaurantes de antes, glamour, lujo americano, y una auténtica y maravilloso cocina.
Sin duda en estos momentos lo mejor de Nueva York!!
GREAT Dining Experience they made the day very special
Nice food and service but too salty and too expensive. A piece of lemon cake is $20!
So over priced, sane steak at and steakhouse is $20 to $30 cheaper. House wine was $45, and martini $30....this isn’t fine dining, it’s full rip off.
Very enjoyable. A bit pricey but the food and service were both excellent.
First time at the Grill.
Overall, excellent food and service. The pasta a la presse and crab cakes were standouts for starters and the prime rib and duckling were standouts for main course (the side potatoes are fantastic - hunter style especially. For dessert lemon chiffon was excellent as well as the banana flambé.
The sommelier was not so impressed with us - we bought our own wine which was not on their wine list and he gave us a meh look. We paid the corkage rather than pay $$ for a similar bottle.
But apart from that, would recommend going to the grill and enjoying the lovely food and service.
my first time here- lunch-- great ambience- location- good interior-- menu choices are good--may want to share some-could be too much for one--good service- not too attentive to be a bother--seems eager to please--all round a good choice for the season-- likely to return--good job to all
Service was leisurely. Menu oddly casual for a place that isn’t. $26 for a club sandwich is breathtaking. Used to be a favorite as 4 Seasons. Now as Grille and Fountain Room I will never go back.
Food and service was excellent. Quite expensive and quite noisy downstairs. Maybe balconey is quieter.
Amazing place, with classic recipes. We chose the Amish ham steak with fresh pineapple (succulent) and the lobster Newberg (old-fashioned recipe, hard to make at home) and a half bottle of a Chassagne Montrachet. The food was excellent and the service impeccable ! It was of course quite expensive but worth a special occasion. We were transferred to the Belle Epoque of Great Gatsby !!
The ambiance and location is what you're paying for, but it's worth it. The scallop (that's right, singular) served table side was amazing, I only wish you got more than one. The ahi tuna appetizer was also delicious. The honey mustard duckling breast was fantastic with a perfectly crisp skin that melted in your mouth. My wife and I went here for an early dinner and shared the three items I mentioned as well as each having a cocktail and glass of wine and made it out at just over $200. Overall it was a great experience that I would recommend for a special occasion even if you are easily scared by high prices.
Great food. The noise from the bar was a little loud but we had a great meal.
Excellent service, solid cuisine, a bit stiff an atmosphere.
The Grill was superb. Excellent food, service & ambiance. The lunch menu is small, but creative, with interesting items and preparations.
I waited 45 minutes for my table which was a huge table for 6 and we were 4 very disappointed
A must every time I'm in NYC. The staff is very attentive and professional. The food is amazing! I ordered the peppered filet which was cooked to perfection. In regards to sides, you must order the crab cakes and marrow grits-you'll thank me later. This time we were in a rush due to a later show but next I'll make sure to leave more time to explore of their menu.
Every aspect of this restaurant was perfection. Service, food and ambience.
