The Grill is the revamp of the legendary Four Seasons restaurant, run by the people behind Carbone. It’s very similar, very expensive, and worth it.
Excellent, just excellent
A great place to celebrate. An iconic space renews with imaginatively reconfigured classics. Very expensive though!
Great place! But too expensive for salt and pepper seasoned food.
What a special evening we had indeed at the Grill. Be prepared to be transported back in time to another era where attention to detail , food preparation, and the commitment and passion of the waitstaff are all a priority. This is an example of getting what you pay for and, at least for us, it was appreciated and enjoyed. This is the type of NYC restaurant that could have pompous staff and thankfully it did not. We will return for another special occasion.
Friendly knowledgeable staff and killer drinks
Amazing! One of the best dining experiences in nyc
Boring Beige room.
Average cheese burger.
Good wine list.
Not worth the hype in a City like this with many better options.
Nice date night
The Grill is probably one of the best restaurants I have ever been too.
Wow, what an unforgettable experience. It is absolutely beautiful inside. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. Be prepared to spend some money, but it is well worth it. We loved everything we ordered. The standouts were the liverwurst appetizer, steak tartare, prime rib and the grits with bone marrow side.
Loved the food!!! Gumbo was amazing! Fabulous fun service.
This is one of the best restaurants in all of Manhattan. Service is impeccable and the food is off the charts. One of the best all around experiences in all of manhattan.
Not particularly good.. ran out of their specialty Crab Cakes by
1:30 pm.. should not happen... by 2:30 most guests had left and we felt rushed with waiter hovering ... first to bring check and then approached twice to see if we had placed a credit card..
When we left attendant was cleaning glass door at entrance ..
But when our car arrived.. he was not around to open doors for us!!
overall a good experience except the snob person at the door whom did not believe i had a reservation and implied i was at the wrong place because i was not wearing a suit.
service at the bar was not great by another snob barman who was more interested on checking his phone than to actually provide any kind of service.
sommelier never went to speak to me and even brought the wrong wine.
when i ordered my main meal, my side dish was forgotten and my half bottle of red arrived half way through my duck
great place and food was outstanding but bit let down for the service
Food, ambiance and service were top notch! Highly recommend it!
Wow, it is expensive. Steak: $70+ Dover sole: $90+ Half bottle of French wine that retails for about $19.00, marked up to $60. It sure is an experience. If money is no object and you aren't concerned with a cost / food value ratio, it is a spectacular restaurant to visit...once. The service is outstanding. The setting is historic and important in the history of restaurant dining in America. I can envision a return visit for a drink for the atmosphere. Not for the food which is OK, not sensational. Much better food options at much better price points at other fine dining spots in Manhattan.
Beautiful space and exquisite service
Service was excellent not a good selection on drinks and food was ok the prime rib we ordered in advance was good loved the crab cakes dessert was amazing and service was A+++ they were kind enough to give us dessert on the house because it was our anniversary thank u !
Incredible. My new favorite spot in the city
The service was pushed - honestly felt like they wanted tables turned.
The veal dish I was served was shocking.
Two thin square slices of a stuffed roast for $57 plus tip tax?
Price irrelevant - I fly to Italy for dinner.
Is that a portion?
Glad I didn’t order the “renown prime rib”
Go to keens steakhouse and take a lesson.
You won’t have Four Season continuity with that kind of behavior.
I was visiting from Tokyo and went there with my mother on our last day in NY. The decor and atmosphere are fantastic: you will feel the 50s of America. The food is also good although the portion was a bit too much for us. The waiter and other service are very professional.
Been here when it was the Four Seasons restaurant. The decor and ambiance is a bit darker. It fits perfectly with the new theme of the restaurant. Wonderful good and service. The only negative part about the evening was the fact that we had to wait 30 mins to be seated. It would’ve been a nice touch for them to pick up our cocktails at the bar for the long wait. A bit disappointing there.
Lovely food and staff. The wines we ordered were splendid recommendations. I wish the timing of the seating was more prompt since that was the only downside. Especially since they have a 15 min grace period and they highly enforce that rule on their patrons and will charge you a $50 fee if you’re more than 15 minutes late.
old. tired. overpriced. on a good note, service was great.
So not impressed at all.
The venue itself is beautiful. Old World Glamour. We waited for our table for a 10:00pm reservation. Had a cocktail at the beautiful bar. Our table was on the upper level overlooking the bar, it was gorgeous.
Wait staff friendly but saccharin.
We started with the Lagostinos...they were delicious. Their Pasta that they're known for. Table side press of ingredients. When pasta was served it was cool and over salted.
I could not wait for the Dover Sole. Table side, again, wait staff had a difficult time removing the head of the fish. Matre d was called over to assist. The Sole was so tough, I had to use a knife to cut it. It was soaked in butter. I actually left it. It was not good at all. They credited our check, very nice, but having it taste better would have been nicer.
The duck was good. The Strip Steak was horrible. Poor cut of meat and again, cool.
The Filet was SOAKED in Povre...a turn off.
Desserts were less than described. The Lemon Cake was yummy, the Grasshopper Cake and Baked Alaska, not so much.
The Grill was a huge disappointment! They should take a lesson from Gabriel Kneuther...a FABULOUS RESTAURANT where its perfectly ok to drop a lot of money. The Grill was a waste of an evening!
Mediocre experience. Service ok, friendly but our captain forgot about our table after ordering dessert. Food could be a lot better, shrimp for appetizer tasted old. Steak tasted good, but cool temp. Duck was also cool in temp, skin was soft and not crispy- did not enjoy it. Pineapple crust dessert was the best thing we had that day.
Incredible service. We were seated about 30 min later than our reservation but the bar was able to transfer our cocktail bill to the table. The interior design is the nicest I have seen in the city. The menu and decor both seem to be a modern take on the late 50's/ early 60's cuisine and design, respectively. I had the prime rib cart which was unbelievable and my date had the lobster (served Newberg style). Very pleased with everything...will return. Gave 4 stars on value only because it's not a value dining experience - very pricey but worth it.
Service and ambiance is amazing. Attention to detail is wonderful. The food is simply not worth what you’re paying for. Got the lamb chops and the NY strip medium rare and just wasn’t impressed. I expected the steak to be a lot more tender. The sides and dessert were the best part of the meal. If you’re looking to impress someone it’s a good spot or a business account.
A wonderful restaurant from a great team. Impeccable service, and delicious food; however, the pricing is out of this planet. Makes it difficult to recommend or to want to go back. Not necessary to charge $18.00 for a GLASS of Rose, that we purchased the next day for $8.00/bottle.
Food was excellent, drinks as well. Room format fairly open which made it a bit louder but very nice place.
It was perfect
Outstanding dinner with terrific service. Only issue was the noise level. The room is loud.
This place is amazing
Duck was excellent.
