The Grill From Ipanema Ratings and Reviews
The time in between the servers bringing around the meats was ridiculous. To only cut off tiny portions and then have to wait 10 min for another waiter to come around with a different meat was seriously the worst. This was in no way worth 135.00 and I wish I had just gone somewhere else and at least gotten a full steak for the same price as I paid for table scraps at this place.
The food was authentic, and the atomosphere was a blast! We sat close to the performer and usually I wouldn't prefer that, but he was very engaging and fun! We loved the open salad bar to compliment all the meats, and the fried bananas were a must! There was nothing less than spectacular. The price is very reasonable for the quality of food, and the staff were very kind and quick. They were at maximum occupancy, and still I felt like I was getting better service than most dead restaurants. We will totally be back soon!
Our meal was great but there was an automatic 18% gratuity added to our bill (party of 6). It was on the bill as a line item and our server did not mention it to us. He got double tipped and it definitely soured the experience for us when we looked at the receipt closer the next day.
This is the third time I have dined here and it has been consistently good. A wide variety of meats cooked over charcoal. Several varieties of bacon wrapped meats as well as garlic shrimp were also prepared in the same manner. This is complimented by a fresh salad bar with alot of mixed salads, beets, meats, cheeses, dressings and cut fresh fruit. The hot bar had Brazilian style shrimp risotto, white rice and two soups (pumpkin and black bean). There were also fresh canolis for dessert. The food was all delicious and the service was very attentive by a large staff. Our waiter checked in on is frequently and was very pleasant. The entire staff was positive and very cordial. I will definitely be back.
Our Rodizio style landmark for comparison is Fogo de Chao, which we've had in Texas and Beverly Hills several times a year for 15 years. And Grill from Ipanema matched or surpassed Fogo on everything. GfI's Pao de Quijo is incredible, much better than Fogo, but they are a bit stingy with them.
Just about every seat in the house has spectacular views. But if you show up in a party of two, you risk being seated against a wall with no view. That's with reservations through OpenTable. Reserve for four or more, and preferably show up on any night other than Saturday. Also, your vegan friends probably will not enjoy this place. You've been warned.
But the food is great, the service is great, the ambience is great. It's over an hour of travel time to get to Seattle for us, and we'll definitely be back.
The server was very attentive but the people that kept going to tables with the meat kept skipping my table. About 15 minutes went by & they still had not stopped by my table but kept stopping by the tables around me. I had to call someone over to my table for them to finally acknowledge us
Feedback from all in party of 6:
Service was poor - had to keep looking out for servers to get what we wanted.
Lamb was tough. Shrimp were too dry. chicken was too salty, though was the better tasting food compared to others. Salad bar and its variety were good.
Wont revisit and will not recommend to others.
We were told for 53 bucks a person, we'd be treated to 18 meats
We saw 8 different meat skewers plus pineapple and shrimp
I spent 285.00 plus tip for 4 adults who were only served less than half of what was promised....less than desireable Coffee that the waiter could not provide the source or name and burnt flan
Love this place, but my latest bday here ended poorly. Splitting the check shouldn’t be as difficult as it was, considering everyone got the same order (all-you-can-eat). I️ understand a 15 person table comes with difficulties, but should have been able to split the check (or warned they would r be able to before-hand) considering the only thing that needed tracking was drink orders. If too hard for one server, split the table up, but for as much money as we spent I️ was unhappy with the amount of work that was needed to divvy up the bill.
My boyfriend and I were honestly very disappointed by the experience we had here. We live an hour away and came out to Seattle just to have dinner here for our anniversary. Most of the meats were very dry and we were constantly being reached across to have our water refilled even when we said no thank you because our glasses were 90% full. Im upset because for the price we expected much more.
Fantastic food and service. Food And drink are served quite frequently and quickly. It's a bit more on the pricier side, so I wished I took a closer look at the price beforehand. Parking is definitely tough, so it'd be nice to find recommended areas to park.
I thought because it was for a Saturday night occasion it would be very good but I'm so disappointed, the variety of meat was poorly and the guys with the skewers showed occasionally and when I asked for meat (picanha) I waited about 30 minutes to have it and it was cold, I will rater continuing going to Novilhos or Fogo da Chao.
