The Grill From Ipanema Ratings and Reviews
I thought because it was for a Saturday night occasion it would be very good but I'm so disappointed, the variety of meat was poorly and the guys with the skewers showed occasionally and when I asked for meat (picanha) I waited about 30 minutes to have it and it was cold, I will rater continuing going to Novilhos or Fogo da Chao.
I think it was a lot of fun, and quite different. I enjoyed the concept. However, had I not had a coupon worth $60.00 I would not want to spend $130.00 there. (this includes 1 beer & 1 glass of white wine). For the money, I'd rather go to the Metropolitan Grill, or Ruths Chris and have a whole steak of my choice.
Amazing restaurant great variety of food... I read there were suppose to be 18 different meats.. I'm petty sure there where only about 8 or 9 and my party was there for at least an hour... My only complaint is they didn't have enough service staff it took the waitress forever to bring more my check. She was busy getting others settled at their tables... But over all it a wonderful experience and I'm glad I was able to check it out. Not somewhere I would go regularly, I think ours nor of just an experience rather than a place to have dinner.
Server took forever to get us extra breads and check on our table. Food was okay but not worth the money. Atmosphere was okay...very empty when we arrived but picked up in time. Had to ask for lamb as it wasn't going around like the beef. Overall, for what I was paying, which ended up being just under $200 for 2 of us, I expected a cooler atmosphere, awesome service, and impeccable food and wine. That's not what this place delivered.
We really enjoyed our dinner. We had a table overlooking the Seattle waterfront. The salad bar had a great variety of salads meats and soups. The service was excellent. We were able to taste ten different meats. The meats were a wide variety and we were able to enjoy many flavored. The decor was arm and comfortable. Service was excellent. We would definitely return.
So I'm just going to begin by saying, the meat and service was amazing. The salad bar was pretty mediocre but but the meat was delicious.
Now my issue. Apparently this restaurant applies an autogratuity to tables of six or more. Originally our reservation was for six but went down to five. We noticed the 18% gratuity after we paid our check and had originally planned on leaving 20% in cash for our server. Neither the server or host (who is the GM) notified us of this charge.
When I go up to the GM to discuss the issue, he gave me a condescending tone and told me not to blame the server and that it was basically our fault because our party was smaller and that the table we sat at automatically has gratuity on it. As a guest it is not my responsibility to instruct my server with how to charge me. The GM is very approachable and rude. We easily were going to leave a 38% tip for our server without knowing. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND SNEAKY ESTABLISHMENT. BEWARE THE 18% GRATUITY BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT LET YOU KNOW.
My wife and I decided to try something new. Wow, we weren't disappointed. The live music was great and the food was outstanding. So many different meats and the flavor was off the charts. If you are looking for a new experience then this is the place. We will definitely be back.
The service and staff are incredible! The food is so amazing. I have dreams about the grilled cinnamon pineapple. We knocked over our water and the staff were so quick to help clean it up and made us feel like it was no big deal and were happy to get us back on to our dinner. I look forward to going back again and again!
We took another couple with us that had never been to a Brazilian restaurant. Both men are big meat eaters so they were excited. We had reservations but arrived about 15 minutes early. We were seated right away and the waitress explained how the whole thing works. All of the food was prepared well. The salad bar was well stocked and kept clean. The pasidors came by frequently with many options of meat. We used 2 Groupons with no problem. We will definitely go again!
A friend of mine and I used a $60 Groupon for dinner here and with 2 glasses of wine the bill still came to $45 a piece, which was pretty expensive for the quality of the food served. The food wasn't bad - it just wasn't all that good and for my money (i.e. if I were going to spend that kind of money for dinner) there are better places around town. This strikes me as a "quantity vs. quality" place.
