Food was delicious, service was great, a great meal overall!
Took out of town guests for dinner and they were very impressed. Drinks, food, service, ambience were all great. Hospitable staff. Delicious food and good portions. Would come back again soon.
Good food, but a bit too modified to American taste.
Outdoor seating available, off the main drag. Welcoming staff, pleasant atmosphere outside. Food took a while to come and was just so so. Lamb chop was ordered medium rare but came out well done. Steak was cooked to the right temperature but flavor was lacking. Prices were high for quality of food. Owner/manager was very kind and attentive. Would recommend for a small bite but not a full course meal.
Great authentic Brazilian food! Friendly staff and outdoor seating.
I don't know which made our get-together more fun the service or the high quality of the different, interesting and delicious food. We split an appetizer between the 4 of and as well as a desert, but each order our own entree. The portions were so big we took enough home to supply my husband and myself with two additional meal. It was a nice night, lovely to eat outside and greet neighborhood friends passing by. The menu was long and varied, but we received excellent advice from the owner of the restaurant.
Amazing food. A very friendly and professional staff. Reasonable prices and no long waits for food. The brunch menu is a great offer! Português é falado aqui.
Took My fiance out on Valentine's Day. She loved it , we both got the rack of Lamb. If you are able to get a good seat then it is definitely a place you can take someone to sweep them off their feet ( for a budget ) .
Food was ok
The services was amazing. The food was just ok. I had the Filet Mignon and my partner has the rib eye.
The wait staff was amazing and super attentive. I would return just for them.
This was our first time at a Brazilian restaurant and it was one of the best meals we've had in DC. The steak was cooked perfectly and was tender and juicy. Every item from the appetizer to the dessert was filled with awesome flavor. Would recommend it and we will definitely be coming back.
We went to celebrate a friends birthday and this was the first time for each of us. We each ordered something different. Two got the Caldo De Feijao and one got the Salada Verde. Both were delicious. We each then ordered different dishes so we could sample off of each other's plates. Great idea. One got the Passaro Preto, one got the Feijoda and one got the Carre a Mineira - great choices and everyone loved their meals. Great portions and we all had food to take home. We ordered desserts but could not eat them cause we were so stuffed from the entree and appetizer. We had great drinks and took the desserts home and vowed that we would return again. I would definitely recommed to anyone wanting great Brazilian food.
I had a special birthday dinner there.
My meal and experience were wonderful!! My waitress helped me make food and drink selections. I started with a Maracujinha, a tasty passion fruit cocktail. I started the meal with the Coxinha de Galinha chicken and cheese croquettes which were cooked to perfection...and the sauce they were served with added just the right amount of spice. My second course was the Feijoada. I LOVED this rich, flavorful stew and the way the greens were cooked was wonderful!! And with it, I had a Caipirinha traditional Brazilian cocktail. I finished with the Pudim de Leite which was a lovely, delicate flan to top off the meal. My waitress even taught me a little Portuguese!! Outstanding experience!!
Excelente atención y excelente comida!!
Birthday for my partner this month and for mine back in November; genuine and great staff, food is always tasty and we love their drinks
Always good food and great service only issue is trying to find parking in the area
Awesome place and great food!
I always have loved this place but Given the pandemic, I love how intimate the date was. Being Brazilian, the food tastes relatively authentic, as close as you’d get to a home cooked meal.
I loved the place, the staff and the food! Totally recommend!
Definitely will be returning!
I love this restaurant! This was my second time there & the service, food & environment was perfect. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely go back!
Great friendly waitstaff with ties to Brazil. Incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Portion sizes were substantial - great value for the money, would definitely go back again!
Waiter was nice and helpful. Very engaging and told us a little about the history and culture.
Food was good, service was amazing, quality of food and service is good.
Ambiance is good too.
Only thing is that u have to have a good eye to spot a parking spot
I enjoyed my Saturday brunch here! They have bottomless mimosas and the best 3-course brunch menu. Super accessible as the restaurant is all on the ground floor. The wait staff was attentive and helpful! Will definitely come back.
The Grill was truly a great experience. Very attentive staff, the food was superbly tasty. I will definitely be visiting again.
Absolutely delicious food and drinks. Service was quick and waiters were very respectful, efficient, and attentive. Would highly recommend the paella and the steak. Desserts were amazing as well! Could not be happier with my dining experience
Good neighborhood place. Pleasant outdoor seating. Nice staff. Food was fine but not distinguished & less exciting than I expected from Brazil. Great deal during Restaurant Week.
Great value food!
We went to the Grill from Ipanema for restaurant week and our experience was outstanding. The service was great and the food was excellent. The portion sizes were also very generous. Both my boyfriend and I had leftovers, and my boyfriend rarely takes food home from restaurants. I got the paella which was delicious. Dessert was outstanding as well!
Traditional Brazilian food, it doesn’t get any better than this! The atmosphere is so nice and pleasant and the staff members are wonderful! Not one bad thing to say.
Great service, exceptional food. They were very flexible with our reservation.
Food and drinks were outstanding! Definitely will come back soon.
Excellent food and service. Define toy worth a repeat visit
From the start the team was very professional and super nice! From the server to the bussboy server was excellent. The food had great taste and was an explosion of flavor in our mouths!!!
Definitely recommend if you’re coming for a date or with friends.
They also say the brunch deals are very good, so soon we will be back.
The brunch menu at this place is just dangerous to any plans of doing anything else but enjoying the best of life for the rest of your day.
My date and I had Sunday brunch at the Grill from Ipanema on 19 July. We sat outside at the socially distanced and shady tables out front. All the waitstaff were very courteous and wore facemasks. Both of us ordered from the 3-course brunch menu. I ordered the Sopa de Feijao as the appetizer, Feijoada as the main, and the fried banana for dessert. I was a little disappointed by the feijoada. While the chunks of meat and sausage in the stew were very generous, I found the stew rather bland, particularly when paired with the plain white rice and collard greens (although the orange slices tasted great as a accompaniment). The appetizer and dessert were excellent. Beverage-wise, we both really enjoyed the mimosas. I also ordered a caipirinha separately and it was also wonderful -- it really hit the spot on a brutally hot day!
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit a week ago that we had to return! From the fancy fresh salad with delightful homemade mustard dressing, to their signature star dish Moqueca de Peixe a Baiana (Bahia-style Grouper Stew), to the hearty Feijoada (amped up by the fresh orange supremes and special request of Malagueta chili oil), to the perfectly caramelized ripe Fried Banana with homemade Whipped Cream, we thoroughly enjoyed every flavorful and sour-warming bite! The 3-course $22.95 champagne brunch is a terrific deal of exemplary Brazilian cuisine and flavor-packed ample portions! Thank you, Chef Alcy de Souza, General Manager Raquel, and TGFI Team for making brunch such a joy!
It was our first dining out experience since the lockdown in DC and we sat at the patio area where there were plenty of spaces between tables. We felt comfortable and absolutely loved their food. The Brazillian paella is a must!
