The Grill From Ipanema is the only authentic Brazilian restaurant in town. This restaurant takes pride in its hospitality and is committed to offering the best culinary experience so that one can truly taste traditional Brazilian cookery with different flavors and from different regions in Brazil. The inspiration of the menu is a reflection of the people, different cultures, and flavors within Brazil. Try our "Moqueca Mista a Baiana" style, it is a mixed seafood stew of fish, shrimp, mussels, squid, clams and scallops is prepared in a blend of palm oil and coconut milk with fresh cilantro, tomato, onion, scallions and green pepper (Please indicate how spicy) served in a clay pot with rice and fish broth, and a yucca purée on the side.     The service was great. Upon walking in and standing for a brief time, at least three people came over to be sure I/we had been helped, and we had been helped! Very attentive and friendly. The hostess told me that the restaurant is owned by 2 families, one is American and the other Brazilian; the restaurant has been there for 31 years. The Vibe was very chill. The food was great! I had a steak, medium rare and it came out just how I wanted it. My 27 year old daughter had seafood and it too was great. The food has some spices that were not familiar to me but the tasted amazing. The portions were big but not wasteful. Finally, the chocolate mouse cake was phenomenal.     What a lovely surprise! Our waiter, Joãl, was awesome. He answered all of our food related questions. He shared information about Brazilian food, culture, and helped us with a few pronunciations! Our food was great, as was the whole experience! The salad excellent, cream sauce pasta delicious!

    The service was fantastic and the feijoada was exactly what I was hoping for since visiting Brazil a few months ago! The only thing missing was chicharrones in the feijoada! We got the restaurant week deal which was great value as well, but I would go back even without the deal. The caipirinhas were great and the brigadeiro dessert was delicious. The outside is cute at night and the inside feels upscale with a band playing throughout the night! Would definitely come back! Obrigada, Grill from Ipanema!

    Lovely restaurant lovely service nice drinks, crappy food! Had 6 different tapas dishes they all sucked, beef was chewy, croquettes where all breading with coagulated string cheese inside, salad uninspiring, portobello mushroom had strange sauce, not good value, sorry!

    Everything was fantastic! The food was better than ever and the service is top notch. Six of us each had a different entrée and we all were impressed with the quality and taste. The atmosphere in the dining room is tasteful and quiet. Truly a perfect restaurant.

    Awesome hospitality! After I submitted the online request they called to clarify large party requirements (ie kids/high chairs). When we arrived, the table was ready, and the serving team was awesome with great suggestions!! Delicious cocktails, tasty food! The lamb was super delicious! It had been 20 years since I ate here, and it was great to be back. Can’t wait to come back to town, and will definitely return to TGFI! Thank you!!

    My husband and I dined there for his birthday. (This was our 2nd time visiting the restaurant). The food and ambiance were excellent. The hostess and the manager were wonderful. This 2nd experience was slightly different. Our waiter seemed very stand-offish (Almost like he was afraid of us--I don't know. Very awkward!). When we finished our meal, we waited about 30 minutes before we were asked if we wanted dessert. We didn't understand the long wait since there were other assistants nearby that were available. It made the night particularly longer since we had to take an Uber ride back to the hotel. This restaurant is still one of our DC favorites and we will dine again in the near future.

    My family and I enjoyed the Mothers Day Brunch. Food selection of the prix fix menu was great, the food was great, the service was great!! Overall and Excellent experience. It was our first visit, we will be back!!!

    The food was very good, and we had some new flavors& experiences. I didn’t like the fact that the check included a gratuity but then the credit receipt said “pre-tip amount “ as if. Gratuity hadn’t already been included. I caught that and didn’t give another 15% on top of the total, but I did add few more percent for the waiter who was excellent.

    I made a last minute outdoor reservation on a Saturday afternoon. Had a cocktail and it was one of the best I have ever had!! It was a moranguinha (strawberry lime juice and vodka)…so very refreshing. The servers are very attentive and fun. The manager is sweet and even came out to check on me too. Great atmosphere, drinks, and service!

    Not sure how long it’s been around, but I go back about 15 years since I first went there. It was a favorite of mine when I lived in the area for dining with friends or for business and I went there often. It’s been 3 or 4 years since I’ve been there, I went there last night, and it didn’t disappoint - like coming home. The menu has maybe been updated a bit over the years, but the standards are still there and still delicious. A must try and must have as a regular on your list.

    We ate at the Grill twice this past week. On the first night, our paella was very dry with so much rice in relation to the seafood that it dominated the dish. The second night we had the feijoada which was good and the Picanha Rustica - steak that was tough, gristly and chewey. Our friends had a steak that was also full of gristle and chewey, and the salmon which looked as if had seen better days. The fried potato wedges served with my steak were very dry. The only reason we returned to the Grill was because we couldn’t find another restaurant open on Monday in the area and we hoped the meat dishes would be better.

    Terrific service. Very attentive and friendly staff. Cut place that is quite popular. I was hoping the food would be more exciting and flavorful but it left me a bit disappointed. I would, however, give it another try.

    Overall positive experience. The host/manager was inviting and warm. The food and drinks had were very good. An enjoyable ambiance in a not too crowed environment. The prices were fine considering the area it’s in. The only issue was the gratuity was included, for 2, in the meal but on the credit card receipt, it said gratuity was not included when filling out CC slip. Was confusing to be polite. We left extra on top regardless but if you aren’t paying attention, you could easily double gratuity. Would come back though.

    We sat down and no waiter came for 20 minutes. We had to ask the guy that was filling our waters to please get a waiter The food was not as good as the other reviews stated but I did enjoy the dessert. For the money spent, I would have gone to fogo de chao or any of those all you can eat steak houses.

    The food was generally very good, as was the atmosphere and service. The chicken/yucca croquettes and garlic flank steak were excellent. The churrasco misto was a little overcooked, but with sauces and sides still very flavorful. The caipirinha was quite good too. Lots on the menu looked good and I'll definitely be back again.
