   Our waiter was great but we reserved an outdoor table through open table but when we arrived, we were told that they were booked and did not have a table for us. What is the point of making a reservation?

   One of the best grass-fed burgers I've ever had! Perfectly cooked. The other dishes looked good as well. Fantastic service as well- you just dont find that anymore. Thank you so much for making our small company event so enjoyable! Definitely hope to return if Im in the area.

   Apparently they were down a cook and it shows. The staff was slow and the food was not good. I didn’t realize the main restaurant at Wente had closed and the grill was all that is left for food. We had a great tasting at the tasting room only to be highly disappointed afterward at the Grill. Never again.

   Wente used to have a great restaurant and now they just have the golf club area to eat. The inside looks like a diner but the outside is nice! Food is very meh, the new wine testing area is gorgeous though.

    The food and service was really outstanding, save room for the homemade Key Lime pie or order to take home as my wife and I did. Embarrassed that I do not remember our servers name but he was outstanding--very personable and honest.

    The ambience, especially on a sunny day, can't be beat. The mixed greens salad and burger were excellent, the pork sandwich quite good, and the chicken sandwich okay. Wish the menu were larger and more consistently flavorful.

    This ended up being a very disappointing experience. I made these reservations under the assumption we were eating at an elevated lunch spot at a renowned winery and golf course. I specified in my reservation that we were celebrating a friends birthday. No one could be bothered to acknowledge the request and I even made mention of it to the host when we checked in. Our waitress brought our drinks and appetizer out fairly quickly, which gave us reasonable time to enjoy them before our lunch arrived. We both ordered the chicken sandwich and we’re both sorely disappointed. The sandwich had no flavor not to mention the condiments they chose did nothing to improve the sandwich. After our waitress dropped off our food, that was the last time she came back to our table for the remaining 50 min of our stay. We attempted several times to flag her or really anyone down for our check but we were consistently ignored until we came in requesting to pay our check. Overall it was just a disappointing experience and I don’t plan to come back.

    My friends raved about this place…It was raining so I missed eating outside (I’m coming back for that!), but Madison took care of us with 5 star service. From bloody Mary’s, an amazing hamburger and homemade key lime pie, what’s not to love!

    Kind of a bait and switch. We checked the menu on the Wente website. Several appetizers, four salad, three burgers and four sandwiches - just what we were looking for. When we got there, we were given the ‘reduced menu’ - same appetizers, one salad, one burger…..and that’s it. On the plus side, artichoke dip and burger were delicious. But, one entree? Too bad. Great setting for casual dinner or lunch, but not unless they add to the ACTUAL menu. Having a menu showing several options only to find one is really poor customer service. Would have left but we’d already driven 15 minutes to get out there

    We booked this restaurant thinking it was the fine dining restaurant at Wente, which must have closed during the pandemic. This is a golf course grill. Very informal. Perfectly fine, but just not the nice Sunday brunch we were expecting.

    This is VERY different from the wine tasting experience (which was amazing), but like mentioned in other reviews this is a golf course grill, not really a nice restaurant. You have to walk through the golf shop to get to it. Bad service and eh menu. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter left it on the table and had us pour ourselves the glasses. Will gladly to the wine tasting again but won’t be returning to this place. Just eat lunch before wine tasting :)

    The location and ambience was nice, food was just ok, however the service was horrible. Especially disappointed by the veiled rudeness/animosity toward us, of the man that seated us and brought us our menus and napkins/forks etc. He displayed annoyance from the get-go and quite frankly was condescending toward us whenever anyone politely asked very regular and expected questions as a diner. We were all very polite and smiling and friendly toward him the whole time. Honestly felt like he had an underlying problem with us even before he seated us or had any verbal interaction with us. He was giving my daughter a dirty look of disgust and annoyance even before she or anyone else interacted with him to get seated (she was the first one to arrive at the check in booth for our reservation). So disappointed in the indecency of this person. We felt totally unwelcomed.

    The breakfast menu is slim pickings. They have had much better breakfast menu 10-20 years ago. We used to like coming here almost every weekend for breakfast, but it has gone down in quality and quantity over the years. You used to be able to get a small steak with eggs, some sausages, poached eggs, etc…. It was our go-to on Saturdays since it wasn’t crowded and a hidden gem with a pretty view. We thought we would try it again after Covid restrictions, but it just didn’t live up to expectations. We tried… We’d like to support them, but if they don’t have much on the menu, then what can you do? There are much better options as far as breakfast places in Downtown Pleasanton and Livermore.

    It was a "Thank You For Your Help" luncheon for a good friend. We were greeted right away and we got to choose the "outside under the awning" table. Unfortunately there was a loud group of men next to us for 30 minutes but once they left, it was much better. We didn't ask to move because we liked the location. We ordered burgers and a salad, all were satisfying. The view was great, watched golfers as they ended their game shake hands, and the beautiful hills. We weren't rushed although it was noon hours, and had a very lovely lunch. Thank you Wente's staff for a good lunch and a time of connecting with friends. Good job.

    Haven’t been here in so long and went to the spot where the old restaurant used to be. The new area is nice, but way more of a casual setting. Beautiful views of the course and hills, but I miss the ambiance of the restaurant. Food and service was good.

    We were very dissapointed about where the Restaurant was located. We haven't been back for 20 years and expected to visit the restaurant we remembered. We did not want to have lunch with a bunch of loud golfers and horibel ambiance. We finally found out that the original restauant wss the Wente Tasting Room. So we went their for a tasting and the atmospher was great. Why dont Wente Bring back the oringinal location. Never will we go back to the Grill. Sorry

    Ever since they closed the main restaurant, the food has not been the same. The quality is not even comparable to such restaurants as TGIF, Ruby's, etc and appears to be "prepared frozen fast food" for the golfers. Hopefully they will reopen the main restaurant, but I'm not holding my breath on this because they converted the space for another use.

    Wente is a beautiful property with stunning views. The Grille must be going through some changes, we had the caesar salad with grilled chicken. The lettuce was yellow, not green , way overdressed and the chicken was dry and no flavor. The Grille was not busy, however service was slow. I had requested additional water, waiter didn’t return with the water, only the bill. It is not our intention to return.

    First I should say that I’m a hard rater - unlike Uber, I don’t consider five stars to be the norm. This used to be a quite nice restaurant before covid, and they haven’t gotten their groove back. The ambience is very nice - you are overlooking a small golf course when eating outside - you won’t want to even think about eating in the dingy interior. But they don’t have enough umbrellas to cover all the tables, so you may be dining in the full blast of the Livermore sun. We only narrowly avoided that fate by borrowing some coverage from a neighboring umbrella. So they lose one star for that. The service was very slow - we sat there more than 20 minutes before even getting water, and we’d probably be there still if I hadn’t gone over to a waiter. So for being understaffed, they lose another star. Finally, the menu is very limited - they call themselves a grill but basically offer three varieties of hamburger and some salads. I ordered the crab cakes and they were the worst I ever had: they looked - and tasted - like they came in a carton from Costco. So for outsourcing their cooking to a chain store, they lose yet another star. But I wish this place good luck in getting back up to snuff, since it has the potential to be good.
