The food and drinks were ok, but it was not worth the price. The setting is great. I would not go again.
On a nice warm sunny day this is a lovely patio overlooking the green of a golf course. The menu is limited with basic burger or BBQ pork sandwiches, fries or chips, and a couple of salads. Of course there is wine and beer. Nothing special if you are looking for basic burger in very casual setting in the wine country.
Poor food, good views, drinkable wine for the price
It was nice to be outside. Unfortunately this was a day it seemed they were short staffed so the service was very slow and painful.
Great burger and really good, inexpensive wine. Servers were friendly but inattentive and forgetful. The place is swarming with wasps, but they warned us about it before seating us. Great atmosphere, beautiful view of the vineyard and 18th hole of the golf course. Speaking of which, this is one of the best courses in NorCal
Bees, watery salad dressing on Romain but supposed to be a wedge salad, mini (guessing frozen crab cakes) and Bloody Mary with one olive (no celery or anything else)!
Was not what I expected at all.
I was expecting better food, even though it was on a golf course.
Sadly, there’s not enough room to properly provide feedback. Email will be sent to management. In a nutshell, not the same overall experience (quality of food, service, hospitality) as in years past.
Quality of food is poor. Drinks were good but pork sand and pork tacos were dry and no flavor.
Had a reservation and they had no tables. The waiters seemed overwhelmed. They were out of Eric's chard and the crab cakes. But the views are beautiful
Didn’t stay, next to nothing on the menu. Didn’t stay!
Ryan is the best. He took very good care of us. Glad they added more items to the menu. The caesar salad is one of my favorites.
There were so many bees around we couldn’t enjoy our food. When we ask to be moved the server said there’s no table available and there’s nothing he can do. He couldn’t have been a little more accommodating or sympathetic with the situation. We came for lunch before wine tasting celebrating my friend’s engagement. The experience was really bad and my friends were quite upset. Also the burgers were over cooked and dry, the tacos and chicken sandwich were not good.
Thought we were booking fine dining only to realize after we got there that the old high quality restaurant has been converted into wine tasting area and food is at the club house grill. Good burger but expensive and swarmed by wasps. Beer served in plastic cup. Probably fine to go to after golf but not for dining experience
Ate outside. Didn't know it was reservation only due to limited staff, so came back later. The servers were busy and you could see that needed another person or two. Food was great as always and the Bloody Mary was spucy.
There are only a few options on the menu. The food is okay but not the quality you would expect from a golf course at a reputable winery. The service is pretty bad. It took a long time to get our food and refills of water. We ordered a coffee (twice) and after a 15 min wait it came out lukewarm…. Thankfully we were not charged for it.
Finally, to make matters much worse, prices are outrageous. $10 for industrial crab cakes and $24 for a burger with a small portion of fries. We totaled just under $100 for two for an overall unimpressive and forgettable lunch experience.
The winery is nice and the staff friendly. We’ll go back for wine tasting but certainly not for lunch.
Slow service. Reduced menu.
Team gathering and fine wine tasting
I really miss the restaurant! The food at the Grill is pretty standard fare (burgers, hot dogs, etc) and they have great value for
bottles of wine. The view is the gold course and ambiance was beautiful. The food was just a miss for me.
Disappointed the restaurant was not open for full dining.
Still very limited menu, but great service
Made a reservation for Monday. The grill is open on Mondays for golfers only. Obviously, there is an issue that can be solved. However, the staff were rude. That is not acceptable. From what I could tell it is a simple concessionary.
Limited menu, had to order food at a window, however they did bring food to you. All food served in “to go” containers.
We were extremely surprised that Open Table would book a reservation for the ratty set-up Wente Vineyards is foisting on unsuspecting diners: walk up to a window to order your burger or hot dog, then seat yourself! Avoid this place and visit Garre Winery for a real brunch.
Service was great!
I was expecting better food and service. The place is beutifull but the foos was not as expected
It doesn’t seem to be the same restaurant that we used to go. Since they reopen, this is the first time back for us. The table service, the regular menu is gone! The bar tender not only has to do his job of bar tending but also has to ck in guests with reservations and take order. Food is delivered in take out boxes. The food is subpar. It’s like cafeteria food but with a full service restaurant price. We are very disappointed 😞
There is no real service here at the Grill. You order your food at a walk up window and someone will bring it to your table in a to-go box.
I wanted the Wetmore Cab but they were out. How does a winery run out of wine? She said it was in the cave up on the hill.
There is also a limited menu.
I’ll wait until service is restored before I go back. I can go to any drive up window anywhere to get the experience we received. Covid or no Covid, other establishment are doing more for their patrons.
Sitting on the patio in the sun is great. Nice view. Walk up self-service window is fine, but the options are limited.
Website is extremely misleading.
Thought the reservation made was for the restaurant's outdoor area under the canopy of trees next to the restaurant (an early Mother's Day).
Instead, we were directed to the Pro Shop and around to the back to the snack bar - a walk-up counter where you pay and grab drinks, and then food is brought out by the very hardworking server/cashier/bartender.
So happy Mom has a good sense of humor!
I had been to the Grill twice previously and it was an amazing experience. Excellent service, great food, etc. This time, perhaps due to Covid, it was not ideal. We had reservations but were told by the staff that those did not matter and the table wasn’t actually reserved. The food was not great, especially for the value. And we didn’t even get a side with our breakfasts which is bananas to me. Overall, I would definitely not return. Service was OK at best, we had to even ask for cutlery, the wait was extreme and we were even told, “reservations don’t really matter.” Finally, I was shocked as an Nth degree wine club member that I didn’t get a bottle discount on the two bottles I purchased.
I’m not sure why they are even taking reservations the restaurant isn’t even open. It’s a snack shack basically. We ordered food through a window and it was delivered in styrofoam. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine too but it was disappointing not to get full service. Our county has lifted Covid restrictions for indoor dining so not sure why they haven’t, hopefully they will open up again soon.
Covid experience was not what I expected. Wine in plastic cups=horrible. Only a few items to choose from on the menu, not very many options and the food comes in to go boxes. Makes the experience ’cheap’. No servers, you have to go up to a window to order.
Terrible, wine in plastic glasses instead of glass, have to order your own food at a window, won’t go back
The grill was fine. You have to go to the window to order and then your server brings your food to the table. Food was good although my hamburger didn’t have any aioli sauce or mayonnaise, or other sauces as I recall from pre-COVID dining. It was a great day to be outside!
Wente is so beautiful! Of course due to covid things are still restricted. Food was just okay, as it was at the golfers grill. However; the view and wine was spectacular. Still worth the visit on a beautiful day.
Normally one of my favorite spots, but the food was dry and tasteless. They used solo cups for the wine and the food came in styrofoam containers. I understand COVID restrictions, but this was a little over the top. I could have handled most of this stuff, but the food was horrible and they ran out of the wine we were drinking. I’m still not sure how that happens at a winery. We won’t be back anytime soon.
The ambience and service was really good. I would have enjoyed more food selections. (Salads)
Wasn’t informed that they weren’t operating as normal. You order at a window, and their menu is made up of burgers, sandwiches, etc. ...doesn’t exactly pair well with wine.
