So very disappointing. There is no good time for a bad meal but one on vacation is even worse. Our server was unattentive, meal was not cooked as requested. Would not expect this from a restaurant of this caliber. It was more like TGI Fridays experience.
After 20 minutes of being ignored we left. The menu did not match what was online. Basically bar food.
Love the Grill. The ribeye was chewy and fatty, but tasty. The nicely presented potato casserole side was very good and the grilled asparagus was outrageously delicious. The meatloaf was too loose for our taste. But the setting is so wonderful, we will be back next week and try something else off the new menu. Sadly, the great seafood pasta is not on the new menu. But things keep changing and rotating. This is very nice formal/casual dining. You pay a price for it, but it is a pleasure to dine there. The grazing herd of javelinas on the golf course made for a special viewing treat.
Outdoor patio very nice on a pleasant evening. Fish and chips (on Fridays) is very good as is the meatloaf and chicken. Kori is a GREAT server....knowledgeable, attentive and very nice.
Beautifull views of the golf course..great fish and chips
Loves the chili and the burger!!
Out server, Clay, was rude and inefficient.
The Grill at The Boulders was an excellent choice for meeting friends, being able to visit, and enjoy a delicious lunch in a lovely outdoor setting on the restuarant's porch.
This was our first time dining on the outdoor patio. We have dined inside several times and always had great food and service. The outdoor patio is surprisingly large and has good space between the tables. The golf course and sunset views are wonderful. It seems the quality of food and service have risen to the levels of the old Latilla dining room at the Boulders main building. We loved the seafood pasta! This was the best meal we have had for quite some time in the Phoenix area.
A disappointing experience. Over rated for certain, lacking in atmosphere, mediocre service, limited menu, food was fair.
The food was good but the service was awful. We didn’t order wine or drinks and we were essentially ignored. Water glasses were not refilled for the whole meal. Our salad came with Gorgonzola which we asked to be held. While struggling to remove it our waiter never asked if there was a problem. We won’t rush back there.
I usually have a good meal here. The venue is beautiful but the meal was poorly prepared. Ordered a French Dip asking for medium rare beef; it was so well-done I left the sandwich in the plate.
We went to The Grill at the Boulders Resort for lunch after finishing up a round of golf. It is a great place to have lunch with a nice lunch menu. There is ample seating outdoors, the service was good, and overall it was a solid meal! I would recommend the Ahi Tuna poke especially!
We were staying at The Boulders and it was a nice, close, easy option with good options in a comfortable environment. We were there on a weekday and it was a quiet night but I could imagine that it would still be a calm and comfortable environment even if the place was full. Staff was great, food was good...a great option if you're staying at the Boulders.
It was good
Very nice restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and the service excellent. The food was delicious. I had the flat iron steak and shared the seafood linguine special with my husband. They were both really wonderful.
Had a wonderful lunch with girlfriends at The Grill. Lovely atmosphere, great food and helpful waitstaff. Will definitely do it again!
Dull dreary interior and food seemed over cooked, dry and uninspired.
Enjoyed eating on the patio, looking out over the 18th green. The food was good overall. I am not a fan of arugula, it is too weedy for me in a salad. The broccoli soup was very good. Nice time.
As one guest put it, "It was okay; it was good." This is our second experience with Boulders Resort restaurants under our Scottsdale's Diner's Card Plan. The administration doesn't seem to respond well to this plan.
A total surprise. The food and service were superb. It far exceeded expectations for a clubhouse restaurant. We will definitely return.
Large group came in. Clear they were there to celebrate an occasion which is fine, but got very loud in dining room to a point it was difficult to hear at our table with 4 of us.
Went there for the first time and will definitely go back! Food and service were excellent!
This was one of the most miserable dining experiences we have ever had. Let's start with the new menu. The former menu had more casual fare at more reasonable prices. We were unpleasantly surprised to discover how overpriced this place has become. Second - our lousy server. He had too many tables to take care of and paid little to no attention to us. I had to flag him down after half an hour to get my husband a soda refill and request bread for the table. Third - I looked up at one point and saw nobody in the kitchen. Not a good sign. After more than an hour elapsed with no dinner, explanation or apologies from our server, we left. As we were about to walk out our order appeared. Too late! The kitchen as well as the wait staff was clearly understaffed. We should have been notified when we walked in so we could make a decision as to whether or not to stay. The manager claimed to have no idea we where waiting for over an hour, Gotta call bs on that as the entire restaurant was forced to wait for at least as long as we did. The table next to us waited 45 minutes just to get some hummus! We have eaten at this place several times and never had such a lousy experience. It could not have been more disappointing. We are not running back anytime soon, if ever.
Expected something special for Christmas Eve but no. Lamb shank was very good as was the apple salad.
We have eaten at The Grill at the Boulders several times, but the abysmal service we’ve had on our last two visits assures we won’t return. There were only three tables occupied when we arrived early on Sunday night. After 10 minutes of waiting for a server, I went looking for one and encountered the manager and a server. I told them of the poor service we’d had previously, and they assured me they would take good care of us. The drinks for the four of us arrived at varying intervals over a ten minute period. There was something in my wife’s salad that the server identified as a bandaid, but which the manager said was a wrapper from the greens. They said they would comp the salad, which they didn’t do on our bill until asked. One of the entree was wrong, so one of us ate after the others had finished. The checks the server brought were completely wrong. In short, for a first class resort hotel like The Boulders, The Grill is an embarrassment.
We actually got married at the boulders and my wife thought it would be nice to have our anniversary dinner there. We took her parents who were in town and every person was impressed with food quality and service. We had a great time and will continue the tradition moving forward. Also we will be having dinner there monthly from here on out.
The food, drinks and service were fine but we have had better quality for much less - not worth the cost...
great restaurant and atmosphere --- it was restaurant week so had the 3 course tasting menu -- food was excellent service was attentive and overall experience was casual yet elegant --- I must becoming old as I just don't get why some people don't dress appropriately for a great meal but I won't blame that not on the restaurant
Very casual place seems that the only place to eat dinner while staying at the boulders is the grill. Fit for everyone including families.
The Boulders is a beautiful resort whose restaurants don't generally live up to the standard that should be expected. We ate on the terrace of The Grill, which is a wonderful venue. The food was only average...a nice rib-eye, a good ceasar salad, and a shrimp pasta that was short on shrimp. The server was very poor. Any request (rolls, a glass of ice, a take-away box) had to be repeated 2 or 3 times before he responded. Very disappointing.
Never again - what a waste of money & time.
We have been at this restaurant a couple times before and had a very good experience. The main courses were a disappointment. I had the fish of the day a crusted filet of sole over rice. The fish was overcooked and was not fresh , the rice however was very good. My wife and son both had the Chiopino which was somewhat better except for the sword fish which was very dry. The deserts where excellent. No complaints with the service or atmosphere.
Very Disappointing! Only one server was working .
Several tables needed busing! Our initial impression was that it was messy and unkempt!
The TV's were too loud.
The Sandwiches were mediocre! The fries were cold!
We usually like eating at the Boulders - but due to the summer season, the main restaurant was closed, so we decided to try the Grill!
We wont be back - there are too many nice hotel restaurants and grills available to Scottsdale locals in the summer!
Nice place and good service but the half roasted chicken came a undercooked to the point you could not cut it. The waiter offered free dessert but we didn't want it-I felt the dish should've been waived but they didn't do that. I wouldn't go out of your way to eat here.
We are shocked that this is a Boulder Resort restaurant. The food was not very good quality and definitely a huge disappointment. The service was terrible! The service rarely stopped by and didn't come back for over 15 minutes after dropping off a drink menu!!?? I had to ask for refills on my ice tea the rare times he did come by, because he couldn't offer like a server does .. so I barely had anything to drink the entire time. I definitely do not recommend.
It was just a perfect evening with another couple where we could catch up on each other's lives. The pace of the service was perfect and Carson was great. The Grill was pretty quiet that evening and four of us could chat very easily. The menu was very eclectic and some nice wine choices that you could enjoy without breaking the bank. We even brought a choice bottle with us that they opened for a $15 cork fee. In the end, only $200 for the 4 of us which included tip. We had a dining club membership that subtracted one entree which also helped. The food was very good and I wanted everyone to keep passing their entrees for sharing and sampling. A GREAT evening. Thank you.
Everything was perfect at this 10th anniversary dinner. All staff were incredibly professional and kind. The food was outstanding in all respects.
Carson did an outstanding job in recommendations as well as serving.
Bread, wine, service, ambiance were all fine. Our fish was tasty but over cooked to the point of chewy. Ice cream desserts were an amazing value.
