When taking customers to their table and handing them their menus it would be an appropriate time to tell them of anything that is off the menu; not when taking their order! Notwithstanding, great food

Nice service, piping hot, delicious food. Had the Sunday roast two courses, more than enough and good value for money. Staff were welcoming and attentive ,quiet music in the background so you could have a conversation whilst enjoying your food. It was our anniversary and we were given a complimentary glass of fizz each. Will definitely return, thank you.

Some food selection were not available in the menu when we booked the meal. We ordered the whiskey pate, scotch eggs black pudding and 2 portions of sourdough. The starters were great and delicious. We ordered haddock pie and Sunday roast of haddock, both were disappointing. The haddock pie was presented on a small ramekin and there were 3 small cube pieces of fish and prawns which was covered by mashed potato. The Sunday roast of haddock fish was also miniscule. The roasted potatoes was not fresh.

We were disappointed with our experience last night. The starter was fine, the main course was barely warm and not quite as described on the menu. Vegetables flavourless and bland. Very disappointing as it was part of my 50th birthday celebrations. Tables not cleared very often in the lounge and bar areas. Glasses cloudy from the dishwasher and not buffed. Overall very underwhelming and lacking in the finer details

We were looking forward to this treat away and booked the grill as a treat, my husband had the Scottish beef burger, I had the vegan burger, both arrived on cold plates with just warm pale French fries that quickly went cold. There was little evidence of home made relish and very little taste in either. We paid £20 for the Scottish burger and £19 for the vegan burger which we now believe should have been £17, in total £39 for 2 burgers and chips. We have eaten this type of meal at other restaurants and even fast takeway establishments and they were all much superior. We hoped breakfast may improve our experience but although the buffet table did have some choices the English breakfast and vegetarian breakfast were disappointing. Poached eggs hard, some sort of potato scone, flat, greasy and inedible, plus the English breakfast sausage smelt as if going slightly off and the black pudding more of a mush. Spending in total £87 for very poor standard of food.
