Very good food and service, wasn’t the best seat in the house though and your views affect the value
Very pleasant evening and excellent food Sunset was wonderful
The location is very pretty - it was dark so we couldn't see the view but I hear it's outstanding. The service is very attentive and good. But sorry, the food tries to be gourmet, with 'amuse bouche' and little chocolate gifts at the end, but overall we found the cuisine to be okay, but nothing special - which makes it a poor value for the price.
We took a friend from Boston to dinner at Hacienda del Sol. As usual the food, service & atmosphere were top tier. Even though we’re in a desert, the sea food is great. The appetizers are terrific and the wine selection excellent.
What a disappointment. The food is good (not great, and certainly not as good as more reasonable places) but the hostess was downright rude and the waiter was upselling every chance he got (including only being given the drinks menu at first). This is not fine dining. Sad because it used to be a lovely experience.
Husband and I both agree it’s absolutely the best restaurant we have ever been to.
Everything was simply outstanding. We enjoyed the roasted chicken and a beautiful filet - also, what a view!!
We waited for over a half an hour past our reservation time of 8pm and no service/beverage was offered as complements for the inconvenience. It also took the waitress over 10 minutes to come to our table after being seated to introduce herself and take a drink order. Food was okay and over priced.
Appreciated the quiet dining area, as we were having lunch with our senior parents. Normally they cannot hear the conversation if the dining area is too noisy. The food was very good, and our server allowed just the right amount of time for a leisurely lunch. Everyone was very friendly. The grounds are very much a hacienda, which was fun and colorful.
Wonderful food with beautiful views and live music made our meal one to remember. The sole and the scallops were delicious!
Elegant setting , loved the jazz pianist. Wonderful complimentary dessert, delectable chocolates!
The food and service was excellent. The wait staff attentive but not overbearing. The sunset view was unbeatable. We were able to carry on a conversation without overwhelming background noise
Mediocre food. Way over priced. Limited menu. Lighting too bright. Hard to read menu.
From the minute we arrived on property we were treated like royalty! The host was especially welcoming, ensuing we had the best seat in the house with an amazing view(his favorite). The staff was professional and courteous. The food was absolutely amazing. It turned out to be the highlight of our date night.
We were celebrating the last day of our month + vacation time in Tucson and knew that dinner here while watching awesome sunset and light come on across the valley would be matched by the great food and service. It was... and it was worth the trip.
Everything was wonderful. The Gruyere fondue amazing. God and service excellent.
It is, however, quite overpriced.
Nevertheless I would recommend.
Perfection! Wonderful, inventive menu using local ingredients from desert plants. Service superlative. Everything from the rack of lamb to the steak to the octopus was delicious. The apple dessert was out of this world.
The food was terrible. Too bad, as it’s a beautiful spot. The chips were greasy, the veal chop was very fatty and well done, even though it was ordered medium rare. The sides with the chicken were inedible. One of the worst meals we’ve had in a while, no matter what price.
The last time we were there was 5 years ago. This time was just as memorable and delicious.
The meal and service were exquisite.
Birthday. Wonderful evening.
The food and service are so excellent, set in a lovely historic spot in Tucson.
Great food. Wonderful ambiance of the old West. Neat pictures of the original structure in the 30's. Just very pricey. Great for a special occasion
Simply perfection! From lunch on the Terraza, to fine dining at the Grill to the banquet space, the food, ambiance, service are superb! We come here often and NOT only for special occasions. Although they make them even more special at Hacienda del Sol!
One of the nicest dining experiences we've had in a long time. Staff is well trained, friendly and welcoming.
Had a great time on my wife's birthday. Met with piano music and great service. The food was terrific and we took care of our wait staff. Only one drawback the entire evening. After about 1.5 hours, 2 couples entered the dining room with there 3 children ranging in ages 6-9. They were out of control, noisy, and no effort by the staff or the parents to control them. Ruined the ambiance of the entire evening. Everyone around us as far as we could see was dressed very very well. This group was in jeans a flip flops. Should't have been allowed in in my opinion. Ruined the rest of the evening for us. Otherwise, a great restaurant when the proper people dine.
It was fabulous in every respect!
Always great food, service, and setting. Best place for a special dinner in Tucson.
Brandon gave us very good service. The flavors were very good & everything was prepared & presented very well
Excellent service and ambience. Menu could be expanded for more variety.
We have been here multiple times for dinner and brunch and we always enjoy the view of the mountains and the flowers are beautiful. We would recommend it for a special occasion and the brunch has something for everyone.
Excellent service. Well prepared food. Lovely atmosphere.
First time at The Grill, having moved to Tucson 9 months ago, and finally getting out to the nicer restaurants. We were welcomed, had a drink in the well stocked bar and then a wonderful meal. We both had the veal shop, perfectly prepared, but plan to come back for the lamb and steaks. Love that they have grilled octopus on the menu, something we like very much and is hard to find in Tucson. It was superbly prepared. We will be back!
This is one of Tucson’s best restaurants. Service is great and the food amazing. We had the Salmon and my friend had the Scallops. Both menu items were extraordinary. The presentation was beautiful.
Best not to sit close to the piano so as to enjoy quieter conversation.
Food was great, view was good, ambiance was ok. It felt a bit stuffy and old fashioned. What also did not help was a very loud and pompous diner a few tables away who wanted everyone to know how much he knew about wines. We tuned him out but it did not add to the mood.
Excellent food, service and stunning views. I only wish it was more affordable.
Overall a great experience. Ambience cannot be beaten...service outstanding and upgrades to the resort incredible. Only reason for a four star was that one of the desserts was not cooked completely; however, wait staff took it off our bill.
A little rough around the edges. Wait staff a bit too hovering and interrupted our dinner too many times to ask if everything was satisfactory. I'll let you know the first time. Food was innovative. Ate here four consecutive days and the breakfast staff is more polished than the evening staff. Food and service is a solid B- with room for improvement, however, it is somewhat offset by a great setting with wonderful ambiance and views. The guitar player was very good and a pleasant addition to the evening! We will be back.
Hacienda del Sol is one of the most beautiful locations in Tucson. Visiting Tucson without a visit there is a shame. The restaurant is gorgeous, with large windows and panoramic views. The food, prepared under chef Bruce Yim, is outstanding. It isn't an inexpensive restaurant, but truly, it's worth every bite. I had the Petrale Sole, which was wonderful. My husband had two appetizers, the risotto tamale, which he said was "OK", and the octopus, which he said was wonderful.
Don't miss it for a special occasion.
