Celebrating a birthday- the restaurant is beautiful! Love the architecture and ambiance. Renn was our waiter and provided outstanding service! Even coordinated a special meal request. Food was amazingly delicious!! Loved this place!
Beautiful dinner and view
The staff was wonderful. We have a service animal and the were very kind in finding and preparing a good table for us. We had a very nice evening and meal.
The brunch is fresh and has many selections. Service is good and friendly.
Will definitely come again. Very enjoyable for a group.
The menu selection was very limited. The food was lacking flavor. For the price I would definitely recommend somewhere else.
I was disappointed in the food. The salmon was bland and small, the pork was huge and the sauce very good, but the vegetables were tough and flavorless. The lamb was the winner. It used to be a favorite place, not so much now.
Only issue was waiting over 1 hour to get our entrees.
Perfect on all levels
Great food, great service, beautiful dinning room, the live piano music was nice, check in was clumsy, no outdoors dinning was offered.
Requested the west dining room and we were sat in a different room, next to a large noisy group. Not the quiet romantic dinner we were anticipating. Limited menu and no specials, used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Tucson. Hopefully they will get back on track.
Excelent eclectic menu and the very best views (both desert and city) in town. A very high level experience.
We were greeted with friendly hostess and taken to a table immediately. Unfortunately table 55 was directly in the sun. I had to request a different table, as there were many open tables that would have let us have social distancing. The server was slow. Each time we came back after visiting the buffet again, we had to clear our plates from the table before we could sit down to our new plate. We were offered water only once during our meal even though our glasses were visibly empty.
Your establishment takes a 22% gratuity under the guise of making things easier for the patron ( we all know this is to ensure that the server gets a generous tip) . This takes away the incentive for the server to do his job even satisfactorily. The server wasn't very attentive.
The tables we were offered were on the lower level of the room, which meant we had to navigate steps. My husband walks with at cane and navigating carrying a plate and going down the steps was a challenge for him and he was not offered help by any of the staff.
The desserts and bread were almost none existent unless you were lactose intolerant, a vegetarian or gluten intolerant. There were no Danish rolls, croissants, or regular bread.
I was walking through with a plate and your servers were on their way to set out more desserts. There were about 5 of them. They proceeded to walk out in front of me as though I wasn't trying to go through the dining area. They ignored me as if I wasn't standing there.
Great experience once again at our favorite restaurant in Tucson! We keep coming back at this beautiful wonderful place for the ambiance and the food!
The grounds and ambiance was amazing..very picturesque. It was my mother's birthday. She is vegan but I wanted to get her something nice for dessert. The pastry chef and staff were very accommodating and made something just for her. She was so happy. The food was exceptional. Even the bartenders were great. The craft cocktails are superb. We'll definitely be going back.
Well I ordered a tequila they didn’t have, then gave me another one I picked and it wasn’t what i ordered. Told the waitress and she gave me attitude. I am a chef and have my license in San Miguel de Allende, my pasta was over cooked, and not once did she ask to accommodate us. Disappointed in all
Wonderful evening and looking forward to coming back!
Service was prompt and kind but not rushed
Yummy food. Fabulous atmosphere.
The charcuterie platter was pretty good. And I really enjoyed the chocolate mousse I got for dessert. My husband was pretty pleased with his lemon blueberry opera cake as well. My main issue was with our entrees. We both got the lobster fettuccini. It was….. bland. So bland. The lobster had a good flavor but obviously you don’t get a ton of it. The pasta itself was mushy and the sauce…. Oh boy…. Zero flavor. It literally tasted like nothing. Honestly was so so so disappointed that we spent over $200 (that did include tip) on food that we didn’t enjoy. As far as atmosphere goes, the man playing the piano was great, and our server was super sweet. We had reservations and got seated by the servers station where they enter orders and joke around with each other. Felt a little more Applebee’s in that sense rather than romantic anniversary dinner. And this isn’t a complaint, but more of a “be aware…” it definitely has a more mature atmosphere. Great for your grandparents birthday or parents anniversary dinner….it felt a little…. Stuffy. Was so sad to feel this way but…. There it is. We are from out of town, but can definitely say we wouldn’t come back or recommend for any friends to come here if they are in the are.
Went to The Grill at Hacienda to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Everything was on point the entire evening. When our server, Nick, brought our desert it was a pleasantly delightful surprise that there was a "Happy Anniversary!" message on the plate. We have been to The Grill over many years with family and friends and have always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. Highly recommended!
Drinks and appetizers were fair but the main dishes were very disappointing. One salmon dish was way over cooked and the other was completely undercooked. The filet was over done as well. This is a fairly expensive place so one would expect better. Not a great way to end our weekend in Tucson. Had much better food at places in town that were at lower price points.
Birthday celebration for niece.
I was disappointed in the entree sides especially the vegetables that really were flavorless compared with what I had eaten in the past at this restaurant. Each of us liked our entree and the service was outstanding.
Disappointed. We ordered the strip steak (3 of 4 of us). We received 4 slices about 1 inch wide (barely 1/2 of a strip steak).
Steak should be served unsliced. It was not mentioned on the menu.
The quality of the meat was not great as it was not tender and actually tough.
The fingerling garnish were also over cooked.
The total check for 4 was 380.00. For this price I would expect a much higher quality.
For the price the food did not meet our expectations. The lobster fettuccine was rather bland and the seared salmon was ok. The shrimp cocktail was excellent (chilled perfectly), but not enough cocktail sauce. The avocado dabs did nothing.
I would have been perfect if I were part of the one %, I don't mind spending money for good food and service. Just seemed a little over the top with the "My Pleasure" response to everything. Corny really. Food was excellent, clean, beautiful, etc. We will go back for sure just hope its not so sterile.
EVERYTHING WAS FINE BUT IT WAS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE.
A great dining experience for a special evening or celebration!
Great views, great food, outstanding young man Gordon for service. Everyone friendly. Quiet atmosphere remembered event celebration.
I usually LOVE Hacienda del Sol at The Grill. We were a party of nine, celebrating my Dad's 90th birthday. On a high note, our service staff, wait staff and help staff were excellent.
We had a nice table although the restaurant was virtually empty and I was unclear why we did not have a really lovely table with a view. Three of us ordered rack of lamb and we each thought it was the worse lamb experienced in an upscale restaurant. So, despite the food, because we love Hacienda del Sol, we will return. Hopefully, next time, the food will be its usual high standard of excellence.
Great service wonderful views
My husband and I both had the shrimp cocktail that had no taste. Then we had the artichoke chowder that was bland. For his main course he had the Kurobuta Pork Chops and that was very good. I had the House Made Lobster Fettuccine and you could not find anything but tiny lobster parts plus it had very little flavor. Very surprised had dined there before and enjoyed.
Absolutely fabulous dinner, best dinner in Tucson... anywhere. The service, food, ambiance all perfect!
The Grill at Hacienda Del Sol continues to be one of our favorite restaurants! Even with the pandemic, it has maintained its standards. Couple that with great service from Angelo, and you have a real winner! Highly recommended!
Server was very pleasant, but dinner service was slow.
One of my favorite restaurants in the US. Main room facing Catalina Mountains around sunset is a must!
We have dinner here frequently and it's always excellent. Love the atmosphere, food is some of the very best in Tucson, service is consistently good.
Wonderful place. Food, service and ambiance top-notch.
Piano player playing background music too.
Loved our meals.
We’d eaten both lunch and dinner on patio there on previous visits to Tucson. Inside beautiful and tasteful.
We’ll definitely return.
We asked for a table by the window. Told we would get one but did not. Food was not as good as in the past. Marked noise level higher as we were next to a table with several small children and one infant.
So disappointed! The service was awful
The steak was under cooked
The lobster fettuccine had zero flavor. I don’t even think it was lobster. Charged us for the birthday dessert after it took forever to get the steak properly cooked.
