The Grill at Hacienda Del Sol
Breathtaking mountain and city views are captured from The Grill's dining room where you will be treated to "Spirited Southwestern Hospitality" and a remarkable menu featuring local ingredients from the resort's own organic gardens, local purveyors, and growers.
The Grill's wine list, with over 800 selections, was twice bestowed "The Award of Ultimate Distinction" by Wine Enthusiast Magazine and has been awarded the "Best Of Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator for 19 consecutive years.
Our more casual setting, Terraza Garden Patio & Lounge features a charming open air patio with a variety of seating options and live music.
The Grill features classic guitar and piano seven nights a week.
It has been about a year since we last ate here. It was always good but I gotta say, they have really upped their game! The employees have been impeccably trained and did an outstanding job. And the food was a step above the previously great fare. Wonderful experience!
Wonderful view. Food presentation and quality are outstanding.
One word. Spectacular.
The setting and service were lovely. The sommelier was helpful in recommending a wine we enjoyed. The food was good. The warm brussel sprout was delicious and seasonal. The seared scallops were well cooked.
Overall it was good but for the price and the advertising, it should be outstanding. We were hoping the pasta we had in May would still be on the menu; unfortunately it was not.
I can make a turkey blt at home and I have the same iced tea so nothing special here.
Our waiter, Preston, was great; helpful without being intrusive.
I’m at a loss as to why you have not installed a railing on the stairs leading into the dining area. It may only be a couple of stairs but all it takes is one to cause an accident. Using the wall to brace yourself is not safe!
Yummy soup and salad with chicken combo. Wait staff great and gardens beautiful.
The finest dinner I've had in years. The Gentleman that I was truly privileged to assist me with diner was the finest service. His suggestion on the salmon exceeded any experience or expectations on salmon I've ever had. It was the Gentleman that waited my table solidify the expierence at your restaurant. My name is Justin Taraskewich so please look into the man that waited my table and tell him thank you. He is a asset to your resort. Please value your employee. He made the night
We had an intimate table for two with sunset views. Guitar playing softly in the background. Service was impeccable! Herbert was our waiter and he should be commended! He checked back just often enough to make sure we were enjoying each course! The food was delicious. We shared a filet mignon, cooked perfectly! Brussel sprout salad, very tasty and filling. It was a fabulous evening and we highly recommend.
The food was good but nothing special. Our waiter was not great at all. Everytime we asked for something, he acted as if he was doing us a favor. Also, I had mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday. We have been to many nice restaurants, but this was the first restaurant that charged for the dessert of the birthday person.
We were there for a birthday brunch with out of town guests from Chicago and Denver. They were quite impressed with not only the Grill but the Hacienda del Sol resort! The brunch selection was extensive and excellent. couldn't pick a favorite dish - everything we tried was near perfect!
I brought my wife to Hacienda for her birthday and everything down to the small details was perfect.
Food was distinctive and delicious. View is wonderful. A little ricey but worth it.
Wonderful background music to go alongside exquisite service and food. Truly made our evening special - thank you!
Delicious Sunday brunch and absolutely beautiful views. We were very impressed by the service and ambiance. A very special birthday brunch for my fiancé
Hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was amazing, the servers were kind and attentive. We had the NY strip and the filet, both were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The views are incredible, as well as the grounds. It is a pricey place to eat dinner, but it was worth every dime. We will be going again. Thank you for making the night special for us!
Stunning setting. Staff attentive. Luxurious and relaxing evening!
As always, the service was exceptional and we loved the ambiance. However, we have found the food to be hit-or-miss. It was phenomenal the last time we were there but this time was just kind of "meh". We started out with the grilled octopus which was amazing last time but this time something was off. For dinner I had the Masala Chicken and my husband had the Atlantic Salmon. His salmon was cooked perfectly and the okra fritters were great, but the succotash wasn't outstanding. The masala chicken was bone-in chicken on top of bland rice on top of some masala sauce and green beans... the beans were great but typically masala chicken is de-boned chicken cooked in the sauce so this caught me off guard and I'm not a fan of bone-in chicken so my husband and I swapped my chicken with his salmon. Again, the service was outstanding but for the price you'd expect the food to be outstanding as well and it just wasn't this time.
Great night however, the waiter, in my opinion, lacked professionalism and was just seemed
This is one of my Favorite "Go To's" when I'm in Tucson. Normally, food and service is very good. I ordered the Pork Chop and when it came it was half fat. They should have called it the Pork FAT chop. When the waiter asked me how my dinner was, I told him the pork chop was all fat and then showed him all the fat on my plate. All, he did was stare at me and say "well, sorry". I would have expected a manger at my table within minutes. No one showed up. Clearly this waiter did not get it that paying $36.00 for a huge piece of fat was not acceptable. While I would still recommend this restaurant, if this kind of thing happens again, I would not go back.
Always a great experience. Some of the best food you can eat in Tucson!
Chef Bruce Lim is a treasure in our community. Our friends commented that there is no place else in Tucson where you can enjoy such amazing culinary creations. Truly amazing food in an historical setting overlooking Tucson and shadowed by the Catalina mountains!
The atmosphere is very elegant and the views are stunning. The menu has a nice choice, the service was wonderful (all the staff were gracious and welcoming) and it was a nice benefit that we also had the restaurant week/priced fixed menu to choose from that evening.
Wonderful service and ambiance. Lauren our server and her team were extremely pleasant , relaxed and professional. Our dinner was superb. The special menu benefiting the food bank was a real treat. It was our first visit. It certainly won’t be our last.
I was there for Sunday brunch and to help celebrate a friends birthday. The selection of brunch items were wonderful and many and cooked to perfection. The prime rib was delicious. There were even gluten free selections with the dessert selections. The ambiance and atmosphere at the restaurant is so beautiful and breath taking. Very comfortable.
It is definitely one of my most favorite special restaurants to dine at.
The Sunday buffet menu seemed a bit limited compared to the menu offered a couple of weeks ago.
This had been a "go to" brunch for guests and special occasions for years. Unfortunately, the quality had declined, and it looked tired in the past few years The selection was limited, and the food preparation had become mediocre.
However, someone must have gotten the message because this past Sunday things had changed dramatically for the better! The selection was greatly increased from our experience last Spring. Also, the food was hotter, and the preparation was more like the quality one would expect from Hacienda Del Sol.
One notable item was the eggs benedict, which was fresh and not over-cooked like the last time.
This is definitely a recommended spot for Sunday Brunch, with good food and a varied selection in one of the nicest settings Tucson.
Went for Restaurant Week and what a disappointing experience as far as the food. Nondescript appetizers, weird boullibaise, dry pork roast and dessert was half an eclair shell filled with vanilla pudding and a few strawberries with their leaves left on.
We often eat here. We went especially this time for their FoodBank fundraiser. There was a set menu. The Caesar salad was delicious. My partner’s pork roast was tender and tasty, but my special cannaloni was mostly a heavy lasagna noodle double wrapped around some mild tasting chopped vegetables. The noodle was overwhelmingly what one tasted and it didn’t have any. I love cannaloni and know there is a special pasta one stuffs with delicious chopped food, but you barely notice the delicate pasta around the tasty stuffing. I always order it when I see it on a menu, but I made a mistake this time. The desserts, gelato and sorbet, were excellent.
Had a lovely anniversary dinner from the Summer Elegance menu. The food was fantastic and the best creme brulee ever! The staff was lovely, and all wished us a "Happy Anniversary." They even gave us complimentary Prodecco to celebrate. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Thank you!!
Don't waste your time or money at this pretentious, overpriced excuse for a fine restaurant. We used to eat here often but had not been back for quite some time due to some bad experiences with the food. So after a long absence we wanted to try it again for my birthday. We thought the Summer 3 course dinner would be a good way to do that. While the caesar salad was quite good the experience went straight down from there. The chicken dish was overcooked and didn't have much flavor to begin with. The crab stuffed salmon with Forbidden rice was a catastrophe. An over cooked piece of bacon on top of that delicate fish served with a pesto sauce that just did not work together with the fish made some decent ingredients into a taste bud nightmare. The rice, well that was too watery and did not have the texture good forbidden rice is defined by as well as not much flavor.
What should be one of Tucson's premier dining establishments with on of the finest settings in a beautifully appointed dining room has only an inedible excuse for food to offer. Shame. Disappointed for the last time.
Overall really nice experience. My wife loved the food. My very expensive steak was not that great. That being said, my expectations were high, mostly based on how much I was paying for it. It was cooked expertly but it was not tender and the texture was strange. Having eaten plenty of high quality steaks, I think this was likely a fluke with the steak and not the quality or preparation. Everything else was great and what you would expect from an excellent restaurant.
It is an amazing restaurant with pleasant ambience, extraordinary service, and an outstanding food.
Terrific dinner for our group of 6 friends - beautiful locale and very classy service - thank you!
First time to Hacienda Del Sol.
Brunch was exceptional.
Can not wait to return.
Perfect in every way. Labor Day Sunday Brunch in an inanimate setting. Have also done dinner on occasion.
The setting and atmosphere is very relaxing and romantic. The food was delicious. That night the service was good. It could have been better but nothing that could ruin the night. It’s a perfect place for that very special someone.
Wonderful setting, inside and out. Ambiance was wonderful. Strongly recommend going at sunset. Service from valet to greeting and throughout meal was excellent. Sommelier was quite good, knew the menu as he should. The Pinot Noir was very good and well paired. Food varied from good to very good. The appetizer salad was a bit skimpy, especially on the key ingredient that set this offering apart. This was the Balsamic Tomato Vinaigrette Pearls in the heirloom tomato salad. In my entree, while the overall dish had very good potential, the Kurobuta Pork Chop was small, tough and grisly. It was almost like they gave me the last Kurobuta Pork Chop, which should not have been served. Poor kitchen quality control in any event.
Been enjoying Hacienda for 20+ years! It’s as great as ever!
I have eaten at a lot of Tucson's finest restaurants and IMHO The Grill at Hacienda Del Sol is te very best.
First, the chef. He creates dishes marrying unusual flavors to form a unified delicious experience. Different flavors burst upon your tongue, each contributing to the overall wonderfulness and providing a surprise to your taste buds. Those surprises are what I so value in this chef's creations.
Second, the staff. They are universally friendly, smiling, skilled and efficient and add to the pleasure of your dining experience. The best staff in town.
Third, the ambiance. The diningroom is comfortable and elegant with stunning views. The walk through the lovely grounds to the front door also build on the pleasure of your experience.
Lastly, one negative comment. They used to start the meal with an "amuse bouche" I really enjoyed those single bites of, again, surprising combinations of flavors. They did not offer an "amuse bouche" at this last visit and I really missed it.
