The Griffin Restaurant - Murphy Arts District
Excluding seafood, all food served at the restaurant will be Arkansas grown from farms within a 200-mile radius of the city. Please note that all of our farming sources are listed on a mural inside the Griffin Restaurant.
The Griffin has seating for more than 200 patrons including two private dining rooms, which are available for private rental, and outside patio seating.
They are using their menu to set themselves apart from other eateries area. The current menu has some great items as well as a few near misses. I open they continue to try new items, but keep in mind not to go too far out on price and dish. Everyone like a nice meal out for a good value.
It’s my favorite place to visit and dine with friends in El Dorado. I’m really pleased The Griffin is featuring local and regional musicians. I had the El Dorado burger which was delicious with ample portions for sharing.
We missed the hushpuppies
This was much better before the new chef. They have very little variety and they are extremely unflexible on changes, substitutions, and special requests. They have a great place and could be a wonderful addition under the right management.
The service was excellent. The food once it was prepared and what was prepared was cooked well, though not seasoned. Previous Chefs at the Griffin have been much more accommodating to allergies and menus were much more allergy friendly. This one is there is a salad. When paying $20 a plate one expects a certain amount of quality to remain even after accommodation. This was an unseasoned though well cooked meat and a handful of unseasoned though well cooked vegetables, once I protested. If it were a swamped night I might be more understanding. But this is twice. The first time I was one of two tables in the restaurant and this time not even 50% capacity. Definitely not swamped. Servers were great.
The food was great the service was wonderful and the best ice cream
This was not a good day at The Griffin. Large party without reservations was seated before we were. We stood for ten minutes without being acknowledged and finally seated ourselves. One of the servers did wait on us, though I don’t believe we were in his section. I was really excited about my first brunch here and disappointed by the service. The food was good.
Very disappointing brunch with Santa. Slow seating with reservations. Brunch buffet was also disappointing. Slow seating with reservations. Very few staff on Sunday before Christmas. Sadly, not a good experience.
From the ribeye steak (cooked a perfect medium rare) to the fresh caught salmon to the appetizer of boiled shrimp; it all tasted great. Attentive staff called got a great meal and experience tonight.
Friend and I were celebrating Christmas.
I was very disappointed in your new menu. There were so few choices of entrees, four to be exact. All of my previous times eating there the menu was much larger. With the higher prices you charge, there should be more variety in the menu.
The menu was very limited, only four entrees to choose from, very disappointed. There was a concert in the adjoining music hall and place was packed, in fact overbooked! Hopefully the limited menu was just for that night so they could get food out fast. I have been there several times and enjoyed food, just won't go back on a concert night.
Food was good and the waitress and host were friendly but our waitress got busy and forgot us . We asked for a dessert menu and it took 45 min plus asking twice.
I would of liked a few more veggie options
Brunch was good and Nick and Ken provided outstanding service. We had everything we needed and our drinks stayed full. They were very kind and welcoming and we truly enjoyed our meal.
I love the entertainment and our waiter was excellent. The meal was wonderful.
Really wanting to see this succeed. Unfortunately the new menu is a step backwards. The food tastes great but the portion size is way off. Who wants a 20oz ribeye? The fried chicken is tasty but again who wants a bucket of chicken for dinner. We also had to beg to get a protein added to a salad. Everything we had tasted great I just think they need to get portion sizes correct which may help in allowing someone to get a side with their meal.
Unfortunately, The Griffin has changed its dinner menu, and not for the better. Their original menu was very nice and I was looking forward to a particular item from it when I booked our dinner. Sadly, they seem to be trying to appeal to the "mass market" with burgers, fried chicken, and fried catfish! All of these foods are great BUT not at Griffin prices. Yes, the food was good, but I can get the same thing cheaper at other restaurants in El Dorado, like the Flying Burger. Also, back in the spring, I took my son and daughter-in-law, both vegetarians, to the Griffin, they had quite a few things to choose from. Now, there is nothing, so I won't be taking them there again. They need to bring back the old menu or advertise that they are just another chicken and burger place.
We took a visiting family out who we hope will consider moving to El Dorado. They loved the food and atmosphere. We continue to love the food and enjoy each visit to the Griffin.
I was disappointed where we were seated for the dueling pianos. I made a reservation 3 weeks in advance and was seated looking at the piano players backside. Several tables were available in front of the stage but she told me they were reserved. Tables were never used. I feel if I'm paying as a Platinum Member and made reservations 3 weeks in advance, I should at least get a seat in front of the stage.
Thanksgiving buffet was very excellent!
We were excited to try the Griffen. The MAD is absolutely beautiful; very sophisticated, and not what you would expect in El Dorado. Our lunch was delicious, and the young singer performing for the small lunch crowd was quite good. We live in Tennessee but have property outside of El Dorado, so we are down here several times a year. We will definitely make lunch or dinner at the Griffen part of every visit from now on.
To see childhood friend Wood Newton perform.
The food was over priced and the service was fair.
The steak was wonderful! Tender and full of flavor.
Great food, service and show!!! We enjoyed everything.
Great atmosphere and the food was even better! We will be back!
Sunday Brunch was wonderful! The food selection was tasty and the service from Ms. Tiffany was outstanding, as always. She takes care of all her customers and pays great attention to detail. We always feel welcomed and very taken care of. Mr. Ray is also a pleasure and is very genuine and welcoming. The food is great but the wonderful service we get always keeps us coming back!
We had a fabulous brunch today! The food was wonderful! I loved the gravy with my biscuits and the pork belly was to die for! It was all was good!
Food was excellent. Service was superb . Perfect date night experience.
Great Atmosphere in a rich but also casual setting. The Live Music is fantastic and the menu has great choices, including Gluten Free and Vegan options. Farm to Table freshness throughout the entrée and app choices. Outstanding Bar with handcrafted cocktails and a number of local market Draft Beers. . One of the Best spots in Arkansas for Dinner or lunch.
The food was very good as always. They had a live band that was very talented but not too loud to prevent good conversation.
Music is too loud and servers and front desk are not attentive
The 10 oz steak was bland and definitely not worth the price. The burger was good and decently priced. As sides, we had smashed potatoes and fried. Fries were decent but the potatoes were bland.
Service was good. The waitress was attentive and the atmosphere was good.
My mom and I came in for lunch and we really enjoyed everything. The new lunch menu is great and we were able to chat and enjoy our meal in a comfortable setting. Tiffany is a wonderful server and made sure we felt welcomed and were pleased with our experience.
Made a reservation for 11. Showed up at 10:55. Was seated. Then was told kitchen closed at 11. Got no food. Poor.
Great food and service. Need to expand wine by the glass selection and beer list
I’ve been when the food was exceptional. The past couple of times it was really good but something has changed. Can’t quite put my finger on it. The music was great. The server was friendly. I enjoy going here and it continues to be a favorite date night place. Love that they use local produce and meats.
The Sunday lunch/brunch was delicious! You could choose to go through the brunch buffet and omelet station and/or the lunch buffet line. There was another station for salad and dessert. It was all delicious and the bottomless mimosas were great. The wait staff was very nice and attentive.
We love dining at the Griffin. We love the atmosphere and we like the fact we don't have to drive an hour or two to find this type of dining. We do think they made a big mistake taking the Tornadoes and the Chicken Rochambeau off of the menu. Those were the dishes we looked forward to and have heard that from others. Andrew was our waiter and as usual he did a great job.
