The Greenwich is best described as “Hamptons-in-the-Marina” - the inspiration came from the easy chic lifestyle of East Coast beach towns. The newest restaurant from Big Night Restaurant Group partners Anna Weinberg, James Nicholas and chef Jennifer Puccio, it features light bistro fare in a welcoming, sun-drenched setting. Located in the heart of the Marina District on the corner of Fillmore and Greenwich Streets, The Greenwich is a destination for everything from dinner with the kids to a burger at the bar to celebrating special occasions in their private dining space The Boat House.

Big Night’s signature offerings of crave-worthy, inventive dishes and drinks are served at dinner, weekend brunch, and “Daily Double” Happy Hour (early evening and late-night).

Service was much better than the first two times visiting. The flat iron steak was tasty (but served sans anything else). The Chicken Paillard was fantastic

Food was overcooked, overpriced. The shrimp in shrimp cocktail was wet, watery and inedible. Staff unclear about menu, we were told hanger steak would be served with greens on the side. Reality: some diced chives on top. Disappointing for a $200 tab.

Had brunch at this neighborhood place not far from the Presidio where I was staying. The food was exceptional! Enjoyed the whole experience though the noise level was so high that conversation was difficult.

First time here and went for brunch. Still very new and it's clear they are working out a few of the service kinks (took a long time to get our mains) but overall we were happy. Our server was friendly and informative about the menu and drinks. We shared the deviled eggs, chopped salad and the polenta. All were excellent and good value. We each also had a great non-alcoholic version of their grapefruit, lime and soda water cocktail and the chili salt on the rim was the perfect extra touch. I will be back!

The Marlowe burger is supposed to be one of the best in San Francisco, and it was in fact good, but not mind-blowing. Personally would not put it on the list of best burgers in town. Fries were delightful though. Had the country lawyer cocktail which was very good.

I’m still confused by this place. Love all their other restaurants but this one still isn’t connecting for me. The Chicken Milanese was not a traditional Milanese so I was disappointed. Egg/flour coating in a sauce. Not a crispy, breadcrumb coating. “Salad” on top was cooked. Not fresh and bright tomatoes. Prices have come down but naturally so have portion sizes. All entrees are a la carte so it adds up. The chicken nuggets are very similar to McDonalds in coating and texture. Not saying good or bad. Just saying. I know it says “Marlowe” burger but it didn’t quite taste the same as Marlowe. Maybe it’s a version of, not a replication. Appetizers were the best things we ate. Would go back for apps and drinks at the bar. Service, as always, rocks and the update in decor is so lovely.

Too loud, service especially bar service was too slow. Food is fair. Wouldn’t run back. Fine for a quick drink and some bar food. Not great for dinner.

The atmosphere and location of the Greenwich are great. The menu is a bit confusing and some dishes are just not that great. The cucumber salad was touted very vinegary and filled with spicy peppers. The grilled cheese was too mustardy. The winners were the chicken nuggets and fries. Preferred the old menu before the name change. There are so many options in the neighborhood, not sure I'd rush back.

We really enjoyed The Greenwich (with the exception of the devil's food chocolate cake dessert, but I am sure they will improve). We got to sit outside on a rare warm night and the 80s/90s music from the inside was nice to listen to. Inside was very lively. We had the cucumber salad, which was a little unexpected than the description, but still good and the Marlowe Burger, which if an SF staple around their partner restaurants and very consistently good. What I will say more than anything is the service was excellent. Our waiter Jesus was personable and attentive and he made the experience even more fun! Definitely worth trying!

The service was attentive and the food tasty. (We had the salmon, the burger, and the hanger steak.) My only quibble--and the reason I've marked down the value quotient--is twofold: the portion sizes are small and most entrees require a side dish to provide a complete meal. I'm accustomed to this at a high-end steakhouse, but at a neighborhood bistro, it feels mildly deceptive. So, while the entree prices are very reasonable, expect to pay more for your meal and don't expect to leave full.
