This was my first visit to the green pheasant and I had really been looking forward to it. I had heard great things. I setup a reservation around a week in advance for 2 people. When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess did not seem very professional at all and was sitting on her phone. It took her forever to find our reservation and she couldn’t figure out what was going on. We were finally seated and our waiter came by and gave us a full rundown of the menu. He was super nice but it was a lot of info to take in all at once. We both ordered drinks and split the shumai - delicious. Next we each ordered the spicy crab noodles. These were standout to me. Would go back just for these. While our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful, the wait times in between stopping by our table were long.. especially towards the end of the meal. We both ordered a second round of drinks and it took forever to get them. The bartender actually forgot to make mine.. however he did give me a larger size for the same cost. By the time we finally got our check, we had been there almost 3 hours. The food was very good, expensive for what you get though. Would probably return, but not at the top of my list.

We loved our meal! The waiter did spill a a tray of drinks on beautiful shoes with barely an apology. Other than that everything was great!

We enjoyed our meal at Green Pheasant. The selection of sake was superb and the food was excellent.

The highlights: the Ibérico pork was delicious — very earthy and savory. The “pearls of simplicity” was a nice clean but palette pleasing sake.

Things to change: less sauce on the shiitake mushroom dish. Tasted good but less sauce would give more room for the texture of the mushroom

Only suggestion. You have got to get your bar surface addressed. Sticky. Bartenders shared, after we pointed out, that something was wrong in the finish. I realized there was a problem when it felt the same after it was cleaned. No one likes to stick to their surface or floor.

Beautiful place, excellent food. Wait staff not as polished as one would hope, but that’s typical of the Nashville market these days.

I reserved a table for two for their special NYE 5-course dinner. We waited over an hour to be seated, received the first course then waited nearly another hour for the second course. During this time, we watched other tables decide to walk out after experiencing similar delays. After expressing how hungry and frustrated we had become, all remaining courses arrived at about the same time. The food was haphazard and mediocre. The restaurant comped one meal and two drinks in an effort to remedy the dismal experience.

We paid $300 for a NYE Dinner that was sub par. This place has potential but we were not impressed. Several customers got up and left or asked to speak to a manager for the same reasons.

The food was delicious, but the service was not great. Because it was New Year’s Eve, it was more crowded than usual and each course of the 6 course meal took about 30 minutes to come out. We had to skip the 6th course (dessert) because we were going to miss the party we were attending after dinner. Our reservation was at 7 pm and we left at 10 pm. Hopefully this won’t happen next time, because I’d like to come back and try more items on the menu!

I walk in and the hostess is slumped down in her chair surfing on her phone. She looks up after she finishes then in totally non engaging non welcoming way takes me to the bar. The bartender was indifferent but serviced me with efficiency. No how are you, no "welcome", just functional. I go with his recommendations - chicken wings - good, chicken as a main - dry and tough. Not even close to worth it. I

I wanted to like this place.

This was a special weekend uniting family from Texas, Nashville, and New York. The food was absolutely fabulous. Interesting and delicious. The service ranged from indifferent to belligerent. No one came around for 30 minutes or so and then arrived to “plop” a plate of (delicious) food on the table. Had to beg for utensils. The restaurant on a Saturday night was nearly empty and we were convinced it was due to the service. Really a shame as we’d LOVE to go again to savor the dishes.

I wanted to like the Green Pheasant. I really did. I love Two Ten Jack, and I was excited to try something similar. But over all it was disappointing. We started with cocktails, and they were both ok, but not great. Then we got the chirashi bowl. It was much more like a poke bowl, with tiny cubes of fish rather than nigiri types of cuts. I think there was only tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. For $28 I would expect something more traditional, large pieces of a good variety of fish. We got broccolini, which was overly sweet, almost like a general tso's sauce. The pheasant gyoza were my favorite part of the meal, they were tasty. We also did the crab noodles and skirt steak, which were fine but not incredible. Overall, the whole experience tasted like if Two Ten started a Pei Wei. It's my fault, I suppose. I love Two Ten and I probably should have just gone there.

Really great experience. Only less-than-ideal part was the initial impression from host team. Had a reservation but had to wait around awkwardly while they found a table for us, only to see 15 open tables once we got into the dining room. Not a huge deal, but could have done without the hostess applying her lipstick and check makeup right in front of us while the other looked for a table. Server was outstanding, and food was delicious even if a little over priced. We’ll be back but probably wait for another specific occasion.
