The Gravel Pit Brasserie & Bar is situated in The Waterfront Hotel with mouthwatering views over the east lake to accompany our fantastic menu.

This site was once a large marsh, fed by the River Great Ouse, but in the 1950s gravel extraction created a series of small lakes and pools which survives today. The gravel was mainly used in road and industrial construction, but today the old gravel pits are home to an abundance of wildlife, flora and fauna; a magical place for all of us to enjoy.

Our restaurant is open 7 days a week, from 7am - 11pm, with last food orders at 9pm.

Beautiful setting & decor. Food was delicious. Poor service, had to ask to make order for drink and food after 20 minutes. No check back to ask if food was ok or if wanted further drink. Wrong item arrived on order, this was rectified. No offer of condiments.

We’ve eaten here several times and the food and staff are very good. However, staff are not highly trained and are very inattentive. We needed to go to the bar four times to order food, desserts, more drinks and finally the bill.

Over priced , poor service, dirty plates left despite asking for clearance. Terrible gluten free lunch menu only one thing my friend could eat a salad which for £15 was poor quality and taste and she left , then charged £7 for some chips ! A man was constantly smoking under the no smoking sign and staff were slow to deal and even when spoken to he carried on ! Lovely location but poor food choices , service and way over priced for quality . Non alcoholic gin was even £.6.75 ! A joke

Food was ok nothing special, don’t be wanting to be wowed or anything, think more McDonald’s drive through anticipation then disappointment of what you get. Place was seriously loud with people talking got louder and louder as everyone near shouting just to be heard. Service charge 12.5% added to bill not voluntary wasn’t asked if I wanted to tip, this drive me nuts when it now seems common place to add this to the bill don’t get wrong I’ve seen higher service charges but wtf paying for them to do their job and bring a plate, come on it’s day light robbery not even trying to hide it. Overall won’t be going back as can go to better places for same money and wouldn’t be leaving afterwards wondering if painting the skirting boards would have been more enjoyable

We spent a lovely afternoon and were so relaxed we stayed till the evening. The food was lovely but not a huge choice as I’m a vegetarian. I had the vegan burger which was nice. Definitely worth a visit and will definitely return:)

Lovely Pizzas. Don’t bother with the dough balls. Lovely setting outside. Most staff were not looking happy

Arrived early and was seated straight away. Lovely view of the lakeside, staff were friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent and presented hot and pleasing to the eye. The chilli prawn and crab linguine was delicious as was the pork and chorizo patty, definitely recommend.
