The Grape Variety is a neighbourhood, independent wine bar, shop and restaurant, selling great wines and food from around the world, located just 2 minutes from Chipstead Railway Station.

We opened in the spring of 2018 with the aim that a wine bar should cater not just to experts, but to all, so we created one where our guests could unwind at the end of the day with a great wine in a warm, friendly and genuine environment, whilst getting sound advice about which wines to enjoy, as well as to take away.

For food, we offer quality artisan cheese and charcuterie, alongside dishes such as baked Camembert, bakery sausage rolls, hot chorizo and potato, hummus with a spicy sauce, Spanish pâté and the like. On Thursdays, enjoy our wood fired pizza pop-up and our legendary Quirky Quiz runs every other Wednesday. We also host various pop-ups, such as art classes, comedy nights, brunches, wine, cheese and gin tastings throughout the year. Follow us on Instagram to stay updated.

Quirky Quiz - Every other Wednesday 730pm

7.45pm START for our fortnightly, quirky quiz. A night of fun, banter and music, mixed with a selection of topical and unusual quiz categories...past evenings have had rounds on politics, crisps, racquet sports, music, sweet-shops, 1980s cop shows, geography and much more... A cash donation to enter, which is then collected and given to local community schools, Brownie and Cub packs, The British Legion and others. Our full menu is always available too.
Sunday with The Kids' Table, 1pm - 4pm

Note: When booking your table, please include your children in the total number of your group. We have partnered with "The Kids' Table" to offer a Craft Table for children aged 3 to 10 years of age between 1pm and 5pm allowing them to be entertained whilst with us. The amazing team at "The Kids' Table" will oversee your little ones (space allowing) whilst they enjoy crafts and creative table-top fun in a safe environment. Please note that your children will need to eat and drink with you at your table, and also you will need to initially escort your children to the Craft Table to sign in. Their behaviour is also your responsibility and if your table is in our Green Room, located downstairs, you will need to escort your children on the stairs.

We went here for Mother’s Day while ‘the kids table’ were there. Everything about our visit was excellent! The people that work there clearly love their job, chefs food was fantastic which sadly was cold upon arrival but swiftly rectified and they even took 10% off to apologise. Is beautifully decorated inside. A hidden gem, will defo be back. :-)

Had a lovely evening with my girlfriend. The staff were friendly, attentive and really knew their wine. Will definitely be back.

The Grape Varity in Chipstead is a fabulous environment, with friendly staff. I brought my daughter to have a street pizza opposite the venue, we ate inside which she really enjoyed. Lovely atmosphere.

We had a lovely time .. had a room to ourselves so we could hear each other.. food was tasty and the waitresses were attentive .. thoroughly enjoyed it ❤️
