Stunning view of the lake.
Good food. Nice atmosphere.
The Grandview is a classy restaurant inside The Geneva Inn hotel. The dining room is not too big so the noise level is comfortable. The food is very good as well as the service.
Celebrated Valentines Day here and the food was phenomenal, albeit our waitress was struggling a bit to keep up with all her tables. Went back the next morning for breakfast and was just as pleased with the meal! 5 Stars!!
Our experience was disappointing. It took over 45 minutes to get our breakfast order. When it came out, at least three plates were wrong and one was overcooked. I ordered an omelet and it was very good, but the potatoes that were on my plate looked like they were the few remaining at the bottom of the pan. A very small amount.
When we finished our meal we informed the waitress that we needed separate checks. That, too, came out wrong. She put the wrong dishes on three of the tickets. The manager had to come out and redo the receipts twice.
It was a very disappointing end to what otherwise was a great weekend.
Outstanding views, FANTASTIC food, OUTSTANDING service, great wine selection!
The Grandview never disappoints. After we were seated we waited a while. A waitress from another section saw that we had not been served, came right over and apologized for a hectic moment and our waitress's non-attention. From that point the service, beverages, and food were excellent. We live nearby and tell friends and visitors about this gem of a place on the lake.
Dinner meal was nice. Meal was decently priced and nice quality. The service folks were very friendly and did their job well. I think they were a little overwhelmed, and it appeared they could have used some additional staff. Took a while to get our initial order in. But all in all, the service was adequate. It did take quite a while to get the food out. We ended up being there for well over 2 hours. Much of it waiting for food.
Restaurant great. Hotel lousy. Put up in-laws last year and they loved it. Tried 3 x to book room again this year with their January deal. Was blocked went to Fontana resort instead
The Grandview is one of my favorite restaurants. The beautiful views of Geneva Lake make this a beautiful setting for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. At lunch yesterday we even saw a Bald Eagle fly by our window! Beyond the beautiful setting, the service is always excellent and food is delicious. For our recent visit, my husband especially enjoyed the lamb and the wedge salad is the best I've ever tasted. Over the years I have enjoyed making the drive for a day trip from Chicago for lunch. or overnight for their lovely dinners.
There must have been an oversight, perhaps because there has been a recent name change at the restaurant and hotel, or I missed some information on the original website when I made the reservation well in advance, but the restaurant only offered a Prix fix menu that we didn’t know about. Two of the five menu items were seafood, which I don’t eat, and my husband is a Celtic so he couldn’t eat the special dessert, but received scoops of ice cream instead. It would have been really nice if there would have been an alternate choice for the 2 main courses. We received two small cold rolls, and no vegetables or potato included with the fish or steak main entrees. The food was very good, and we realize New Years Eve is more expensive, but still feel the price was high for what was included with the meal.
What a beautiful setting for Christmas Eve dinner. The food was wonderful and the service and ambiance was great.
Lovely ambiance, perfect for our Christmas Eve dinner. The view was phenomenal and the service was great. The food was delicious for the exception of the mash potatoes which tasted like they came from a box. The desserts were so good, the apple tart specifically was so tasty and decadent.
The food was very good, the view and the service were great!
Beautiful place, hadn't been there for years. We will be back soon and often. Waiter was great, very helpful. Other staff was great, food was great. Couldn't have been happier. Thank you!!! Was our anniversary and we could have picked a better place!!
It’s a special place. The bartender Janeen was very cordial & attentive. Our server was very helpful with a warm personality. The food was delicious!
Food was delicious! Had a great time! Our waiter “Rick” was great!!
Great windows around the dining room which is tiered for a wonderful view of the lake from most tables. Attentive, accommodating service.
Enjoyed pumpkin pancakes topped with a dollop of rich flavor infused whipped cream with cinnamon spiced nuts. Delicious for Sunday breakfast!
Gorgeous view of the lake, attentive and personable service, good food though not exceptional or creative. Attractively understated and comfortable ambiance.
Several of us ate lunch at the Geneva Inn and we were very disappointed with the food. We ordered wedge salads (small for $8.) and added salmon for another $12.. the lettuce wedge had artificial bacon bits with no bleu cheese crumbles and the salmon was a small round spongy disgusting breaded bit of something that definitely was not salmon and not worth a $12. Uncharge. We sent the salads back and got a hamburger and a plain lettuce wedge instead. The hamburger was overcooked and really just okay. We were disappointed with our meals, and our server didn’t seem to care much about it. We won’t return to this restaurant.
My short ribs were disgusting. So dry. It was like chewing leather. My fiancé’s pork chop was amazing. Server was super slow coming to our table. And I had one ordered 2 glasses of champagne for the table for his bday. NEVER GOT THEM. Was a shame.
What a pleasure to dine here! The ambiance, the food, the service all amazing. We happened to dine at night so the view was not as scenic but didn't hind our experience. We definitely will plan on coming back for that lake side view!
There were four of us for dinner. We were seated at a lovely table that had it not gotten dark by 5 pm would have afforded us a beautiful view of the lake. Our server, Teri, was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. She definitely was familiar with the drink menu and was helpful in recommendations. The same applied to the food menu and, again, was helpful in steering us to the best choices. We got the Trout and White Fish entrees. For the sides we got the Ceasar salad and Fall special salad. Desert was the Blackout Cake which was shared. Everything was delicious and had a beautiful presentation. We enjoyed every bite and felt very satisfied and happy at the end of the meal. When we're back in the area we will definitely include the Geneva Inn again. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience and evening.
Wonderful meal and service. Love the place. Will definitely be back
We are locals and had forgotten how good this restaurant is. Literally no complaints, great experience on all accounts
Enjoyed our brunch overlooking the lake it was very nice. Enjoyed the food as well.
From the beginning to the end the experience was horrible. Upon checking in they stated they didn’t have a reservation for us but we were seated shortly after without the requests the reservation contained. Service was extremely slow. The food had no seasoning what so ever. I had the pot roast which appeared old. It was hard, dry, and flavorless, needless to say I didn’t finish it. Not once were we asked how our meal was. We payed the overpriced bill for horrendous food and left immediately. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Spotless and comfortable interior, a wonderful view of the lake and shoreline and excellent food and service.
Great views and great service.
Food was great & our waitress was VERY good. We enjoyed the view & our server didn't mind if we stayed for a few hours after our meal to visit.
Gorgeous view of the lake and the ambiance casual elegance. Seasonal menu selections were delicious with abundant fall vegetable options. Service was attentive but not hovering - perfectly paced! Would definitely return!
Great restaurant !! We live 1 hour away and definitely recommend this restaurantThe food is outstanding with a little bit different items on the menu. Excellently prepared and presented!! A special place to enjoy!!
Enjoyed Brunch here the morning after our wedding and enjoy returning for our Anniversaries.
We first came to the Geneva Inn in April after our wedding and our meal was incredible which is why our recent trip here was so disappointing.
I want to mention right away that the service all night was wonderful, we had no issues with the service whatsoever.
Our appetizers, pimento cheese balls and crab cake, were both cold. The pastry puff the cheese balls were wrapped in was still frozen. The crab cake was cold in different spots throughout. It is clear that they were rushed out. They replaced our cheese balls and did not charge us for them.
I ordered the duck breast that was listed as coming with wild rice and mushrooms. The duck itself was delicious, however all of the wild rice was overcooked and even burned to such an extent that I didn't even eat it. The mushrooms were cold as though just removed from the refrigerator. I can't say for certain whether that was intentional or not but if it was I don't understand how the meal was supposed to fit together. So in the end the duck breast itself was very good but the meal itself was not nearly worth the $30 price tag.
My wife ordered a salad with chicken. The chicken was overcooked and tough, and the salad was severely lacking dressing.
All in all we ended up spending a significant amount of money on a meal that disappointed us at each turn, particularly for the price.
Not near the selection on the menu as what was posted.
Restaurant with great view and ambiance BUT ... food is terrible and service is not so great. We dined here on Saturday during the Oktoberfest in Lake Geneva and were greatly disappointed. The meal started out well -- warm bread and different butters followed by a good salad or soup. We decided to go with the prix fix menu. The seafood combination was tasteless and boring, no salt. The veal piccata was not tender and almost tasted rancid. For some reason our waiter did not explain the menu to our table although I saw him explain the menu to other tables. He never asked if we wanted a second drink either. The meal was expensive and disappointing. Because of all of this, I would not return.
Great view, atmosphere, and setting. Wonderful dinner which we enjoyed very much.
Ambiance is wonderful. Large windows with spectacular view of the lake. Service was great. Came for the weekend brunch. Pretty limited menu. Was hoping for more selection.
Great brunch menu. Gorgeous view.
