   Celebrated an anniversary with family, Friday December 5. The dining area was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We've eaten here a number of times in the dining room and the bistro. It has never disappointed us. The service and attentiveness of staff is superb. They are present when needed but not hovering. Our server, Jessica had a wonderful sense of humor and was a delight. We tried some of the seasonal specialty drinks and were pleasantly surprised with the flavor. Our appetizer, the crab cake is one of our favorites. The cote de bouef was exactly as requested; one rare and a medium rare. A variety of steamed vegetables were aldente and light seasoning. We definitely will return. Dessert? Oh my yum yum! Profitolles, sorbets, and crem brûlée were the piece de resistance. The maître d, Lisa, checks regularly on staff and diners and keeps every one attentive to the patrons. You definetly get your monies worth. Thanks to everyone that made it a wonderful evening.

   My group, The Hill's Angels, always look for someplace special for our Christmas event. We outdid ourselves this year when we found The Grand Oak. It was a bit unusual though to be served french fries with steak. For dinner, I much prefer a baked potato. The service was extraordinary - two servers per table. We wanted for nothing. We're planning to come back in the spring for lavender margaritas.

   Grand oak is a fantastic find in Cherry Valley. The food, service, price were all terrific. Location is away from the norm which makes it even better. I will be back soon for more great dining experiences.

   This was our first visit and we absolutely loved it. The service was outstanding and the food was not only beautiful to look at but the flavors were delicious. We cant wait to come back and try some other items on the list. The only negative we have is the lighting is so bright. Dimmer lighting would have definitely created a better atmosphere and I believe would have kept us there quite a bit longer ordering more tastings. Also, the seating could be cozier-more romantic. Overall, cant wait to tell our friends and come back.

   I had goose bumps during our dinner because of the exquisite live music played during the dinner. Remember when a chilled fork was brought to you for your salad, fresh silverware was brought to you from a wooden silverware box by your waitress, a complimentary appetizer was brought to you from the chefs choice of the day? This is the place. Your waiter and their assistant for your table makes you feel special. I truly enjoy this place.

   Hard to find but a relatively great restaurant for this small town. We go fairly regularly because it's close, the food is certainly a cut above anything you'll find in this area (short of travelleing to Palm Springs, Redlands, etc.), and we get regular e-mail announcements from the Grand Oak about specials. This evening, we both had the hanger steak with local vegetables for $18--great deal considering the high quality of the food. The regular menu is not extensive but features a good selection of steaks and a number of intriguing entrees, all organic and local. The only cons: high ceilings in an old structure make the dining area very noisy and chairs are not comfortable (very low backs and broad but thin seat cushions).

    This place has great food, and I loved the lavender margaritas! The staff were friendly, and the bartender was knowledgable and very kind.
