   The food was incredible!! Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the soft shell crab, scallops and New York strip!!

   We sat at the bar for 20 minutes and no one acknowledged us. Finally, one of the bartenders slid us two menus and still didn’t acknowledge us. Very unprofessional. Otherwise, once we were seated our waiter Nathan was great. The food was good and Nathan took good care of us.

   Appetizers and smalls mare the best bet. Nice veggie with the bird bean spread and while I like crispy, it was really difficult to split the watermelon radishes and other vege--cut too thick. Known for their goopy burger, two of us order it and they were overcooked. Scallops were ok but for the price, nothing special. Chicken al pastor was a good value. I guess I expected more, given the reputation of the chef and the place.

   We had Molly as our server for my boyfriends birthday and we had a fabulous time! Molly was so good at explaining the items on the menu and was excellent at recommending food for our party! We loved the rice balls and the fresh bread as our starters. We got the scallops, burger and pasta and were blown away. We will definitely be back! :)

   We took advantage of the Restaurant Week pre fixe menu for $50 pp. We did not take advantage of the $35 wine tasting but the individual glasses of wine we selected were very good. The meal started off with 3 large rice balls on a bed of sauce. They had a smoky taste to them and even though I’m not a big fan of smoked anything, I did enjoy these. The first course also included some marinated shrimp which I liked but would probably not order again. The second course presented was a large salad, more than enough for two people, (with just the right amount of dressing;I hate when restaurants ‘drown’ the salad with dressing) and an assortment of fresh vegetables with a butter bean spread. In my opinion, I found the butter bean spread rather flat but not tasteless. The next items out of the kitchen were the broccolini and the sweet potato fingerlings. I would go back just to have both of those dishes again! The last item was a half roasted chicken. The spices/glaze was interesting and the chicken was cooked to perfection. We were so full we took most of the chicken home with about half of the sweet potato fingerlings as well. Needless to say, we did not try the banana pudding that was part of the dinner. All in all, I think it was very good value for the money. As far as the staff is concerned, they were readily available, eager to ensure we were pleased, and willing to make adjustments to the selections available. And a special shout-out to Molly, our server, who was outstanding! The restaurant was clean and had a positive vibe to it. It was too cold to take advantage of the outdoor seating but now we have an excuse to return.

    It was a date night and our first time at the Goodyear House. We will be back!!! ADORABLE, inviting & outside area was just as welcoming! Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable (and friendly) and helpful, which was really great because I have a food allergy and she found me alternatives.

    Our server was fabulous. She had energy, passion & knew her ingredients. She was also very attentive to our needs. We came up for the “Savor Event” & truly enjoyed our time. The food was beautiful, bright & fresh. There was also a nice flow to the whole meal. Each course we had time to enjoy & didn’t feel rushed. My only opportunistic feedback is to please make sure your guests receive smaller plates to split everything in addition to cutlery that is strong enough to handle the job if we are dividing up portions.

    The special Savor Charlotte Chef's select menu with wine pairings was phenomenally tasty and filling. I will particularly note that I don't order chicken entrées out often, but their chicken al pastor had the best flavor of any chicken dish I've had in Charlotte. The wine pairings were great too, and cleverly selected to complement each element of each course. My only critique is that the portions were a bit massive (my fiancee and I ate our fill at the restaurant and again for lunch the next day), and the price was just a little bit higher compared to other similar price fixed menus I've seen advertised for Savor Charlotte. You definitely get your money's worth in food though, both in quantity and quality! Highly recommend checking this out if it's within your budget and you enjoy taking some home for later.

    We had a 7:45 reservation for a prix fix menu and wine pairing through Savor Charlotte. We were so excited so arrived early at 7:30. Able to wait a bit and get yummy drinks at the bar but table wasn't ready til well after 8pm. Seating up front in the main dining room is a bit "boring" (just in an old house, unlike the bar/patio energetic atmosphere in the back). We ordered another round of cocktails but the bar was so backed up it took forever. Made it challenging to ever get the food/wine pairing aligned after that, with the kitchen and bar backed up so much. Food was absolutely delicious - especially the marinated shrimp. Thought the food was a great value ($50 for four courses) but drinks of course add up and total bill was high. Took absolutely forever to get through four courses with such a crowd. Will come back just to order a few delicious items off the menu, but prime time on a Saturday evening is not the best time for a first try of the restaurant and definitely not the time for a four course prix fix.

    While the food was delicious as usual, the amount of wait time as the kitchen per our server was “backed up” was unacceptable. Wait time between courses for the Savor Charlotte experience & to get drinks was horrible. Great place to eat, but tonight was an overall unpleasant experience.

    The rice balls are so interesting and enjoyed the sauce it was served with. I ordered a wedge salad and shrimp n grits but that was too much food. They both tasted great! It was a noisy restaurant and our food didn't come for over an hour so that would be my only two critiques.

    Group of six for an early dinner. Three people served 10 minutes before the fourth and fifth. I had to hunt don’t manger to get dinner for sixth 15 mins after serving began. Not good at all. Mgr apologized and took care of cost of late entree.

    It was our first time and our waiter Jesse made it a very enjoyable evening! He assisted us with ordering and we were extremely pleased with all the choices. The food was delicious! We’ll be back!

    The waitstaff was welcoming and attentive. The kitchen was sssllloooowwwww. The food was tasty. The chicken dish I had was half a chicken, intact, and a chore to eat. The flavor was sweet and spicy. The house salad was fresh, nicely prepped and tasted great.

    Second time dining here and the chairs are too small for anyone with wide hips making the duration of the meal uncomfortable at best. We ordered family style and the waitress failed to bring us a knife to cut the half chicken or serving spoons for the sides, so we ended up using dining forks and butter knives which was frustrating. It was just overall subpar sadly.

    Our server (a gentleman) was awesome. Very sweet and attentive. I ordered an old fashioned that was made perfectly. I was disappointed that they were out of bread for the “bread for the table” appetizer, but enjoyed the marinated shrimp instead. I ordered the Steak au Poivre at $48 (market price) and was admittedly surprised when the steak was brought out on a small plate alone. The flavor was good, but I was still a bit surprised. The igloos were a bit distracting and seemed out of place when when compared to the look of the rest of the restaurant.

    My boyfriend and I made a reservation for Valentine’s Day 2023. They seated us promptly, we got a cozy table for 2 in the corner. Our server Rocky was very informative and attentive. Our order: bottle of French rose, bread for the table, butter bean dip with veggies, pasta with meat sauce and the pork belly. Overall the plates were amazing, presentation was beautiful and flavors were exquisite. We will be coming back.
