The Good Egg Soho
The menus here cater well to both meat eaters + veggie/vegan diners alike; central to the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere is a huge clay oven + long open kitchen bar, where guests can dine while they enjoy the theatre of the chefs at work, unless they’d prefer a table away from the action – or on the terrace, which is covered/heated Oct-Mar + open/sunny in summer.
Stunning seasonal house cocktails, craft beers, natural wines + desserts are on offer here too, making this the perfect pit stop before or after visiting the many theatres or other entertainment spots that lie just a few minutes’ walk away.
Enjoy a great value speedy set menu 12-6:30pm Mon-Fri (2 courses £15; 3 £20), or come for Happy Hour 4-7pm Mon-Fri: ALL cocktails £5!
Great for large groups.
Great food in the great setting of Kingly Court. Perfect casual lunch or dinner spot in Soho.
Food was really good but slightly pricey, service was quite slow with drinks and water. Lovely atmosphere and decoration.
Lovely restaurant, great service and great food. Faultless!
We had a pretty good lunch at The Good Egg, enjoying a decent selection of well-executed Israeli comfort food. Service was however disappointingly slow and slapdash. To compensate for our 45-minute wait between courses (!) one of our dishes eventually arrived with an unrequested merguez sausage slipped into it. Luckily, none of us is a veggie! Apparently, there is a prix fixe menu at lunchtime, but no-one bothered to show us this, leaving us free to order from the pricier a la carte menu. Cheeky. Overall the food is worth a return visit but next time we'll need manage our wait staff more proactively.
Nice place for a weekday brunch. Very interesting menu. The food was really tasty. Service could have been a bit more attentive considering they weren't particularly busy. Would certainly go again.
A great spot for brunch and dinner. Oddly very quiet on a Saturday night!
The major letdown was the ZFC as the chicken pieces are tiny.
Food is exceptionally good
A must for brilliant food in London
Great food and service. Although the menu is slightly limited, it is delicious and would def go back to try more!
Very very slow service, fairly cold and flavourless food
The food was lovely! The service, although friendly, was a little bit much at times. We were asked 5 times if we'd like to order! Nice, chilled restaurant for casual meal. Wpuld be keen to try the brunch there.
The place is very nice, but the negative aspect is that the eggs are not available in the evening!
Came here for a birthday meal with friends and was thoroughly disappointed. They text you to confirm the reservation and ask you if it's for an occasion and so I selected accordingly. Why ask if not doing anything for it? Poor form. Slow food service. Slow to get the bill. Slow to get drinks. Food really nothing to rave about. Expensive for what you actually get. I eat out a lot and don't mind paying for good food. Was looking forward to coming here but maybe Stoke Newington original branch is better and maybe just for brunch. But I have to say I'm not in any hurry to try it and nor would I come back here. Pity.
The place was great, the staff were friendly, and the food was very tasty...:) I would recommend
Service let this place down - they took 45 minutes to take the order, forgot the drinks and then didn't bring the wine until we'd nearly finished. Food was quite nice, but not amazing.
Food was delicious however service was very poor. We wanted to have a desserts after a course but we never been ask about dessert menu or if we would like to have something. We need it to ask for a bill to pay too. Not the best experience overall.
We went with friends to catch up for lunch and had the express menu. Very good value for money. The advice though is a bit slow when you need to pay, we went on our lunch hour as our office is 5mns away and whilst food was served in moderate time, asking for the bill took a while as staff was busy and didn't pay us attention
Very nice breakfast place, however they did forget half of our order. Apart from that very tasty.
Liked the creative menu and good value cocktails but the food was rather average. Also, mains arrived just a couple of mins after the starters.
Disappointing, pricey food. Chefs were fussy about accommodating gluten free and dairy free amendments to dishes. Waitress was absolutely lovely though. Not enough staff generally so service outside was very slow.
Starters, mains and service was excellent. Will go back again next time I'm in Soho. Wonderful cocktails too.
Delicious food and gorgeous location in the corner of Kingsly Court.
Good food, bad service. One person's food and drink came out 15 mins later than everyone else's.
Great flavours as always.
Delicious food, would return for dinner. Great decor and ambiance too!
IT’S A MUST!!! In love with the food, people and vibe.. I will go again and agin to try every item in the menu lol
The starter plates were absolutely delicious. The breads, pitas and cornbread are so good! Loved the dips and all the spicy stuff was yummy!!
Great zafar fried chicken. All other dishes were average . The octopus dish was one tentacle of the octopus on a bed of juniper . The bread was served tepid.
