   Very disappointing. Booked as a surprise for my girlfriends birthday. The restaurant confirmed the reservation the day before. When we arrived next day they were closed. Called and there was no answer. Luckily the landlord of the Mucky Duck over the road kindly fitted us in. She said that they do this all time and we are not the first to be disappointed. Apparently they open when they feel like it and when they don’t feel like opening they don’t even bother to let guests with reservations know. Dreadful experience!

   What a find. Staff very good. Friendly, attentive but not overbearing. The food was excellent. I had the chicken with miso, fantastic. Great place.

   Limited menu but that’s fine but things not available we wanted, beers, starter, coffee. It was a cold room too with draught coming down the chimney. Really enjoyed what we had & they did let us in earlier than booking time. Staff very friendly.

   Small restaurant, with good deco in the Peaky Blinders theme. Friendly helpful staff but was advised they had new staff members on duty so was not very well organised. Service was slow and Oder was messed up. The quality of the food though was of a really high standard.

   The Golden Girl was recommended by a friend who found the restaurant a few days previously. What a find it was, the food was amazing! We had a Sunday vegetarian roast amazing one of the best I have had! The staff were great made sure we had everything we needed. We not from Brighton but we definitely go back to the Golden Girl when we return.

   Had roast pork belly and the entire meal with banging! I did ask for extra broccoli and no carrots but the staff must have forgotten. We also ordered the side of cauliflower cheese which was delicious! Staff were friendly. Would have liked to sit down stairs in the pub bit. Not many options for non alcoholic drinks - no beer, cider, mocktails or wine. But I will be back!

   This review is for the outstanding staff that looked our table at 2.30 downstairs on the 31/10, they were short staffed with a few teething problems, however Ryan, James and the other guy was amazing, and even though they were so stressed they tried there best to give excellent customer service even under some pressure, thanks so much guys and I really hope you all had a large drink after ur shift that day.

    On the plus side great setting and themed. Clean and cheerful. I think they had just opened, tapped beer sent back and food which had to travel upstairs from the kitchen poorly presented and tasted a bit odd.chips weren’t triple cooked but frozen and the menu was very slim. Give them a year and you won’t be able to book a table - just caught them at the wrong time.
