   Always using the Goffs Oak and find that we don’t get tired of it how ever many times we are there, good food, good service and good value for money is hard to find anywhere in todays climate, keep up the good work Goffs ! and hope to see you again very soon.Richard

   Unfortunately, they did not have a starter that was picked and had heard the table next to us told did not have another one. It was a Wednesday evening and not too busy. The main meals arrived and the two fish dishes had to be sent back as the fish was soggy. It took for my son to go up to the bar to get attention. It meant that two of us had to eat ours and then the other two ate theirs later. We were asked about desserts and the menu brought to us. After a long period, they came back and we decided that it was too late and asked for the bill instead. Glad to say they did not charge us for the fish dishes, that did help the evenings enjoyment as it was a birthday celebration.

   Have been going to the Goffs Oak for years and today was the worst meal ever. Usually really good but today awful. The chef should be ashamed.

   Went to the Goffs Oak for Sunday lunch . Very good roast dinner especially if you add cauliflower cheese.

   The last time I visited The Goffs Oak for dinner was about 8 months ago and I was disappointed to find exactly the same menu on this occasion. There was nothing that really took the fancy of either my husband or myself. We ordered the rustic breads to share - what a disappointment! Large chunks of slightly toasted bread and far too much oil and vinegar so the two didn't combine properly. On previous occasions the bread has been fresh (not toasted) and there have been several types to choose from. The squid starter was very nice; the best part of the meal. I ordered linguine with king prawn and chorizo for my main. This was OK; nothing special. I've had it before and it's been much nicer on previous occasions. This time there were hardly any prawns, and big chunks of uncooked, skin-on tomato which were frankly unpleasant and flavourless. My husband had a burger which was adequate. I don't know if the chef has changed here but the food was extremely disappointing overall. We had to find someone to seat us on arrival as the bar staff were busy and there was no-one 'front of house'. Our waitress was pleasant and enthusiastic but service was mediocre. As our local restaurant, within walking distance of home, I'm disappointed that The Goffs Oak seems to have gone downhill in the last few months. I won't be rushing back any time soon.

   Always a pleasure to eat at The Goffs Oak. The staff are always friendly and the food is of a good quality. Very well Managed Pub / Dining rooms !!!

    From the moment we walked in, the attitude of a couple of staff was both disengaged and borderline rude. We all found our starters lovely (the scallops and the squid), even though there was an error made by the staff which left two of us wondering whether to leave the others eating alone, or to wait for theirs to arrive and then eat ours cold. Two of the mains (both of the steaks) were tasteless and the bernaise sauce we paid extra for, was plain horrible. Service given throughout was grumpy and as if their errors in taking our orders was an inconvenience to them. We usually have a nice experience at this venue, but the staff and chefs let the evening down on this occasion :(
