We so enjoyed our Tapas dinner along with authentic sangria. Especially recommend the quail, octopus, Brussels sprouts and chocolate lava cake. We will be back.
We decided to give the place another try after having dinner the night before. We were staying at a hotel close by. The dinner was quite good....we just had a slight issue with some very expensive short ribs. But we read the brunch at the G.O.A.T. was pretty good and our waiter from the night before asked us to come back so we did. Very glad we did so. The brunch was unique and excellent. The steak and eggs was outstanding, never had a hanger steak be that tender. We were brought some carrot cake french toast to thank us for returning (I was skeptical of that on the menu) and it was absolutely delicious...even if you don't like carrot cake, like me. Very good. I wish I could remember our waiters name (young, moustache and beard) but he was stellar and genuine. Highly recommend and would certainly return if we are in the area again.
The brunch was very good. We had three different dishes and all were great aside from a bit heavy on the salt (all agreed.) We split the carrot cake french toast for dessert. Delicious. Will try dinner here after sampling the happy hour from 4-6.
Great food, great service, was a little loud. The shrimp toast was a unique dish I've talked about for days.
The food was phenomenal and super quick. Our waiter actually apologized if it was slow because he said they were short staffed, but we never noticed. Highly recommend.
The Goat exceeded our expectations, each entree was outstanding in flavors and presentation. Service was amazing we will definitely be back to try other items on their exquisite menu.
Food was great. Unusual menu. Great service. I’d highly recommend it.
Amazing food and great service! Give it a try!
Phenomenal dining experience with incredible food!
It was a nice casual live Spanish Tapas restaurant.
Great location and the food was excellent
Great night! Fun new place, interesting menu, fabulous service. Will definitely go again!
Delicious varied unique tastes. Excellent meal.
Food was full of flavor, our server was attentive and informed, drinks were great. It’s a little loud even without it being crowded, but the ambience is comfortable and welcoming. We had a great time!
Fantastic new establishment in JAX Beach. Excellent cocktails and outstanding food. Convenient location and owners were involved in service experience during lunch. Will be delighted to return for dinner.
Limited menu. Food was good
Went to GOAT based on a friends recommendation. We ordered a bottle of the lowest priced wine. A $48. Bottle of Albariño and a tapa. The wine was fine but way over priced. The tapa was very nice and reasonably priced.
Overall, the place was a little noisy, a little cold, and a meal of tapas plus shared main plates and wine didn’t work and would be way too expensive for Jacksonville.
Went for brunch! Food was so/so. Everything else from the service to the vibes to the drinks were great!
Wanted to try this new spot at Jax beach. Great location, parking super easy on rooftop lot, service was good, food was tasty. The drawback is the price of tapas was considerably high considering the portion. Would love to see this place and the concept make it; however, they need to lower the prices if they want to keep the traffic flowing and make it successful. We will not return with so many other great restaurants and value… the competition is stiff at Jax beach.
Overall very good food and service , but priced on the high side and ambiance and noise level not great
Wonderful Waitress. Think her name was Angle. Loved the beat salad, Brussels sprouts, shrimp toast. The pork dish was also excellent. The whole fish is a great pick too. Rated this spot a 4 rather than a 5 because of the excessive noise level. We were told they were installing noise buffers soon.
Food was fantastic and so was service! Truly a restaurant gem for the beaches community! We’ll go back regularly for sure!
Great food choices and everything was delicious.
Excellent service as well. I will be back!
The G.O.A.T. is settling into its rhythm - they have been listening to the feedback from sites like Open Table - the portions have gotten larger (this time that was particularly noticeable with the octopus plate, the whipped chickpeas and the Mexican fried oyster and shrimp cocktail. The octopus seemed a little different than last time - a little more heat, which definitely added to the dish. The Mexican seafood cocktail was a knockout - and significantly larger - 4 fried oysters, 4 shrimp in the really good salsa and, mixed in as well some mussels. And, the unusual and absolutely extraordinary imagination and creativity showed again in a new dessert - pineapple carpaccio (sliced so thin you could see through it) with salted caramel ice cream that had, I think pistachios in it. We had it to finish our meal with a split of Prosecco. As you can tell, we'll be back again.
Extremely loud. Slow service. But the food makes up for it. Excellent.
Drinks were terrific… steak plate cost $34 and was small with no side dish. Atmosphere was clean and nice but a little cafeteria feeling.
Everything was delicious! Would definitely recommend.
My third time at the Goat and my third time very happy. The food is excellent all around; quality ingredients prepared very well. The restaurant is Spanish themed with small dishes designed to be shared between 2-4 people. The grilled quail, whole fried fish and Brussels sprout salad are probably my three favorite dishes. But try them all! Service is knowledgeable and attentive. Maybe unique in Jacksonville, this is a relatively casual restaurant that also has very high quality food; I love this place! A very welcome addition to the dining scene in the Jax Beaches.
Shockingly great food! We were beyond surprised how flavorful every dish we ordered was. Unpretentious atmosphere with food that tastes 5 star! The Goat is where it’s at! The secret won’t stay a secret long.
Fantastic food! We loved everything on the menu!
Great small plate/tapas venue with larger entrees available. The service was friendly and attentive. Will return with friends.
Food and service was amazing! A little pricey but honestly worth it! Highly recommend the chicken, spare rib, empanadas and chocolate cake.
The food was exceptional! Noise level was high but we could hear one another without shouting.
We will return.
I had high expectations for this place. But—We had four people (only two of whom had 1 alcoholic drink) and the bill was over $300. The restaurant does not have the culinary expertise to support their menu. Some of the dishes were good, but most were not palatable. The acoustics were such that it was difficult to have a conversation for the entire table. I’m sorry to say I doubt we’ll go back.
We enjoyed the experience! Food was definitely prepared with love!!
THE GOAT is a place where you must go and enjoy experience and food.
The food was delicious! We had Brussell sprouts and grilled octopus. I am not a fan of either but the sprouts had a nice tangy vinegar based sauce and the octopus was very tender also with a nice sauce. We had hangar steak, shrimp toast and pork belly. All were yummy! Only two negatives, it is noisy because of high ceilings and very pricey for tapas. However, we will be back for more!
I must admit that I am somewhat hesitant to write a review about The Goat, as I don't want everyone else to know how fabulous it is, and make it too busy for us to get into!! :) From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. Our server, Tyler, was very knowledgeable about the menu items, and gave us wonderful suggestions to try. The food was exceptional - superb quality, creative presentations and flavours that made you want to eat more. The owner, Luke, is a dedicated professional who cares about bringing a first-class product to the area, and it shows. We had a wonderful time chatting with him, and will definitely be back soon!
Great location and space, large bar area and comfortable booths for dining. Server was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. Food tasted good. Portions for the dollar amount are a bit smaller than had hoped for both potato dishes. Love the concept of small plates to share verses meal sized plates. Strong drinks, would return.
Excellent foodie destination; high quality ingredients shine and are elevated by a talented chef with a well-run kitchen.
This is a great restaurant that also has a bar; not a bar that serves a little food.
