Ever since 1995, The Go Down Restaurant has been serving up the finest quality British food to the people in York. Its location in the historic city centre makes it a popular choice among tourists, as well as being a local favourite and the elegant and refined decor provides the perfect backdrop for a special evening out. Excellent restaurant great food nice location staff were friendly and very professional, only one problem the night we went which was the 23rd of December was the last ,they closing down after 25 years due to health reasons, great loss to York as one of best restaurants,wish them all the best in the future

The restaurant is lovely and the food is really good. It was quite noisy but then there was a Christmas party going on. The lady that owns it is very attentive.

Food was really nice but could been hotter , some parts were hot some luke warm .the xmas pudding was exceptional , and chef came out and poured brandy over it

Wasn’t enough room between the tables only negative . I wouldn’t go back on a Saturday night as too busy for such a small restaurant. Needs to be bigger !
