Absolutely loved this brunch before we went wine tasting!!! The food was so fresh and delicious- I loved the arugula salad with figs and bacon and my friends quiche was out of this world!!!

Wonderful catch-up with cousins we’d not seen in awhile. Had mussels, heirloom radishes, and chicken livers as appetizers. Split a salad and I had the pork tenderloin. All were excellent.

We had a lovely time at the Girl and the Fig. The Mushroom Risotto was amazing! This is a great place for an adventurous eater. Nothing plain or simple on the menu. That is why I gave it a 4 star, there were only a few items that I found appealing. But if I were in a mood to broaden my palate, this would be the place. The service was a bit slow, the place was very crowded. Our server was friendly and funny, personality made up for the wait.

My wife and I went to the girl and the fig for the first time on Valentine's day we where very suprised with how good the food was i would recommend the girl and the fig to everybody very nice staff all around good time

One of the three best restaurants in downtown Sonoma !!!

Great food & service with a full bar right in the Sonoma Plaza.

We enjoyed the Duck Liver Mouse ($14) very much . . . I could have done a entree size of this appetizer and been very happy :-)
We then shared the half pound of Mussels ($15) this was fantastic. My wife said this was one of the best she's ever had . . . so there ya go !
We then shared the Pork Shoulder ($28) this was about as comfort food as you get = Loved it !!!

If you can't get in here . . . Harvest Moon . . . or . . . Cafe La Haye . . . both down the street . . . will work culinary magic.

My only real criticism was in the pork shoulder that i ordered. Although sounded by good stuff (onions, etc.), the meat itself had no flavor at all. I finished it and didn't complain (it was Valentine's day and I didn't want to darken the mood). The fried chicken liver appetizer was excellent as was the protiferole desert. The wine list was very good. Prices were appropriate for a fine dining atmosphere. Service was excellent.

Wonderful goat cheese sampler. Excellent salads. The fish was perfectly prepared. And they specialize in Rhône varietals, so I ordered a Roussanne and it was delicious. Highly recommended.

We love this restaurant. The food is top notch. My husband had wild mushroom risotto, which was to die for. My quiche was not too shabby either and with the sides was very abundant. The waiter recommended a great wine. If we lived closer, we'd come all the time.

Our server was very friendly and tried to make us comfortable. We were seated in the covered outdoor area, despite having advanced reservations, and it was unheated and freezing. Our server offered me a blanket. My champagne was served warm which, despite my being freezing, I did not appreciate. Our cheese and meat tray were just ok- with our fiscallini being mostly rind and everything else very small and not too exciting. My boyfriend’s burger was extremely rare, as was the bacon on top of it (yuck!) despite the fact that he ordered it medium and one should never serve uncooked bacon. We took most of it home and after I recooked it, it was palatable. My duck confit was pretty good, but the fixings that went with it (and with our freind’s mains) were boring and bland. Just not what I expect for $75 per person. I was pretty disappointed with the experience overall.

Always so happy with Girl and the Fig! Every time we walk out smiling, full and amazed at the food quality. I'd pay twice the price and still be happy.

It's really difficult not to keep coming back here, even if you don't live in Sonoma. The Girl & The Fig presents extremely expedient service, quality food, and warm ambiance without the price tag of a Michelin-starred restaurant. Start with the crispy chicken livers (fried to perfection and topped with arugula) and pair it with the brussel sprout and kale salad. The latter will provide a nice textural complement to the soft interior of the livers. Follow that up with a half pound of the steamed mussels in a bed of hot broth. I just wish there were more grilled bread to accompany that herby, savory broth. And, then, finish everything with either their tender strip steak & mashed potatoes or braised pork shoulder in polenta. The latter has more of a tangy sauce accompanying, but it's my favorite piece of succulent meat on the menu.

We met relatives in wine country and stayed overnight. We chose to eat at Girl and A Fig and were delighted. Love the fog arugula salad.
