Having been here in 2017, and a great experience, this visit was hugely disappointing. From the very beginning. Bartender serving drinks at the bar before dinner was surly and aloof. Service was substandard. We were seated at 7 and did not get entrees until almost 8:30. Wait staff clearly were understaffed as was kitchen, but seemed that they filled the place anyway. Mussels were wonderful, but everything else was unremarkable. Grilled beets were cold and lacked flavor. Chicken sandwich was on a thin bun and had skin on that was mush. Salads were bland. Grilled cheese just OK.
Wait staff clearly stretched and had a rough time keeping connected. They did take off one entree when we expressed disappointment, but did not improve on what was a substandard experience.
Sad, as am sure COVID has taken a toll. Hope they get it together soon. Would not return; too many other great choices.

This is such a beautiful place! The duck my boyfriend had was ABSOLUTELY delicious and the pesto chicken I had was different but soooo good! Staff was polite and quick, chiefs were great, everyone was laughing, I would 100% recommend and would love to go back!
If you are ever in the quaint town of Sonoma, The Girl and the Fig is an excellent choice. They have a full bar and an excellent wine list. Its French bistro style and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

While in Sonoma with my sister this weekend, our first dinner out was at the girl and the fig.
We ordered the arugula and fig salad, and the grilled peach salad to start.
Both were amazing! We couldn’t decide which we liked best.
Then, as fish lovers we are, we ordered the flounder, and red snapper special.
Both were fantastic!!

Family get together. Enjoyed our first visit to this restaurant.
Fabulous evening with two of my adult daughters. We sat outside. Had a great entertaining waitperson. the Flounder dish and the blood orange margaritas were the highlight. Fun evening
I was not as impressed as I thought I'd be. I'd heard and read excellent reviews. I had the quiche Lorraine, my friend had the pan-seared chicken thighs and my other friend had the flat iron steak. The steak arrived cold. The waiter replaced the steak and apologized. I think the least they could have done is comp us with our shared dessert (which was yummy). Anyway, the food just wasn't remarkable to me. I was disappointed.

Absolutely delicious food. Geoffrey was an excellent waiter making the perfect recommendations. The chocolate dessert in the latte glass is easily one of my top three best desserts of life. Highly recommend!!
Slow service. Took forever to get water when we got seated. New your steak was tough and duck leg was dry.

Waited over an hour for our entrees. Both were over cooked and not good. Staff was clearly stressed out. They refunded our entrees, but the evening was pretty much ruined. Wish we went somewhere else.

The patio is lovely. The menu had some fun summer cocktails we loved.
We enjoyed the peach and burrata salad.
Our sever was very nice, but he really rushed us. We would have enjoyed a slower pace. He open and poured our wine before we finished our cocktails.
A couple of the items ordered were not too impressive, but everything else was delicious.
Lovely, charming ambiance and wonderful food. Great place for a date night. Everything we ate was delicious and the service was amazing. We will be back!

Always a pleasant experience - especially sitting on the back patio.
Service was too slow. Food was good, not excellent. I was quite disappointed. We sat in the parklet which was just OK, lots of street noise.

While the food was very good and the atmosphere nice on the patio, what rubbed us the wrong way was that we were led to the only table completely in the sun on a very hot day. Once we figured out that as the sun was heading down that it was becoming hotter, we asked the server to be moved or for an umbrella. He just said, "you'll have to ask the hostess" and disappeared. Very off-putting. The hostess was very pleasant to talk to, and though didn't reseat us because we had already ordered, had someone come and set up an umbrella to shield the sun which was the perfect solution. We found that gentleman very helpful and gave him the tip instead of the server. Overall not the experience we were looking for based on what we had heard from friends and reading reviews.
The Girl and the Fig located on the ground floor of the Old Sonoma Hotel literally, has a wonderful historic ambience.
I did not take photos of my chicken salad luncheon, but it was a delicious lunch.

It was a first time in my life that I’ve experienced such a bad service. A friend recommended this place and we were only able to book it for breakfast. We had reservations at 10:30 and waited for 30 minutes before a waitress has finally acknowledged us and gave water. She took the order and disappeared for another 20 minutes. While everyone who arrived much later than us has already gotten their food. We asked another waitress about the wait and she said there was some confusion at the kitchen. Our waitress came back and told us that she misplaced our order and had to take it again! Not sure why she never let us know that before. Finally, after an hour and 15 minutes wait, our slice of quiche and omelette arrived. Was not impressed with either food quality, taste and definitely the service. There are much better places in the area. El Dorado or Layla at McArthur were a delightful experience with quality, delicious food and friendly, fast service.

Disappointed with the wine list, would liked to have seen some of the wonderful local Sonoma wines. Our server seemed annoyed with having to be there and had no personality. Food was good and margaritas we had were delicious. Overall, not a great vibe. This was our second visit in several years, we are sticking to Napa in the future.

Unfortunately this was a miss on both food and service. Went at noon on Tuesday 6/8 with reservations. Must have reservations. The seasonal salad was, as always, fabulous. The steak tartare was good but lacked enough crostini on both our orders to complete the meal, flavor just wasn’t there this time either. Waited 53 minutes after ordering for the duck confit, which we had to send back as it was not crisped as specifically requested. Came back still not corrected. The under garnish was very disappointing as well. Waitress was inattentive and disinterested. Floor manager was superb and helpful. Not what I’d call a good value today. Too bad. I really used to love this place.

Great food, great service from Geoffrey. Only issue was we had to wait in line to get in even though we had a reservation. We had a 93 year old friend with us but no way we could get around waiting on the street. Maybe some exception for people with challenges with reservations?
Highly recommend this restaurant. Great courtyard, friendly staff, amazing cocktails and the food is creative, fresh and top level. My wife ordered the flounder and it was the best meal of our trip to Sonoma.
