Rushed service but good food

The food was fine, though my burger bun tasted a bit stale. The service was lacking, though. Our waitress never once came to check on us or the food, though we could see her milling about the hostess station often. We had to ask for our water to be refilled, and for condiments. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great.

It's fine if you like French country cooking (meat). The salads and cocktails are great!

This was my 3rd visit and it was excellent as always. It was our first time sitting on the back patio and the weather, food and service were great. Might be the BEST burger ever....friendly server, relaxed (although busy) feel! Would go back again for sure.

Wonderful cheese and fruit plate, unusual wines..very good, but smallish (5 oz ) by the glass and bottles are expensive; appetizer of grilled asparagus with feta was outstanding, imaginative food, like English Pea Risotto, fun desserts, some incorporating figs! Waitress was attentive, knowledgeable—excellent. It’s a little more expensive than the $ listed, but worth it! Get reservations early!

We had lunch on the patio and the weather was gorgeous. The wine program is very good. Rhones are my favorite and there are flights to try. The food is local, clean and delicious. Overall it was a very good experience.

We had brunch on a beautiful Saturday and sat outside--perfect. The service is friendly and efficient and it's a charming, bustling place. Our food was ordinary--the omelette of the day and a salad. Perfectly fine, but nothing special. The green salad was soggy and too salty. I've been there and to Suite D before and enjoyed the meals more, and in the future will probably choose the more interesting dishes, maybe stay away from brunch.

Loved this restaurant, great location in Sonoma. The salad with the carrot vinaigrette was different, delicious and big enough to split. The mushroom risotto was fabulous. I made reservations on line before we left home and our flight was delayed. The website said no availability but I called and they accommodated. I would definitely recommend this restaurant

food was really good. service did not seem genuine and courses came a bit quick (felt slightly rushed). ambience was moderate - the lights were really bright and could have been slightly turned down. this place came highly recommended and i would recommend to others, but it wasn’t a five star experience.

Unfortunately, our dining experience here was disappointing... both food and ambiance.

First, the food... we ordered a fig salad (their specialty) and a cheeseburger (recommended by the waiter). The salad was drenched in dressing and not that interesting. The medium rare burger was REALLY overcooked. (The waiter said that it might be the lighting, but trust me, it was dry and really well done.) I have to say that the cheese plate was very good (but there are a lot of places to get a good charcuterie in wine country).

I also did not like the layout of the tables. We were sat in the middle of the room at a small two-top (which were in a row down the center of the room). The table was too small and it just did not feel "cozy" or comfortable, but just busy and bustling. Not great for a date night and did not make us want to linger (perhaps that was the intention?).

Overall, after hearing so many great things, we were just disappointed. And, for the price, it really was not worth it.

Very attentive and welcoming to son with father in wheelchair. Accessible through the patio dining area around the right side. Menu has enough variety for light or full, three-course meals. Authentic, French country-style food and wine. Overall very fine dining experience.

This is definitely an eclectic spot. High energy to the point of feeling you were at at frat house. Our server was attentive and encouraged us to change our initial food selection in favor of the grass feed burger which was very tasty even though the cheese was spars and the bun over sized and a bit stale. They could do more with less on this burger. A great spot is you want to let your hair down and have a fun time

Some people in the party enjoyed the food, but some were quiet unsatisfied. The waitress honestly seemed ambivalent to the fact that one guest was quite unsatisfied with her meal. The staff overall was not terrible, but were brusque and seemed very rushed. I felt that food overall did not live up to the hype.

Ordered the burger and was extremely disappointed. The meat was dry and my bun was burnt. This restaurant was supposed to end the girls weekend off with a bang but unfortunately we all left disappointed.

20 years experience helps ... especially when something goes a bit off. In this case, a way under-seasoned main dish in the Plat Du Jour offering. This is where great service and experience kick in. We were quickly offered a new item, given extra pours of the wine pairings and showered with desserts. White glove service all the way. We will be back!

Fabulous setting- great quiche and avocado arugula open faced sandwich

The croquet monsieur was good but needed more ham- was too heavy on cheese.

Service was pleasant overall but a bit slow!

Enjoyed a ladies lunch on the patio which was not crowded. The range of food is such that all participants could find several dishes that worked for them including one vegan and one gluten free. The service was slow, given the patio was not crowded. We had to flag down the waiter several times. While the meal was very enjoyable, more attentive service would have made it more relaxing.

My first G&F dining experience was just a month ago when I'd visited with my "foodie" group of book group friends for dinner. We'd all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the waitstaff. I had the most DELICIOUS hanger steak and frites and couldn't wait to return. My father also appreciates a fine meal, so we stopped for lunch on Friday. I was not disappointed! Our meals were fantastic--I had to repeat my prior experience, dad had the chicken thighs along with a vegetable medley--too much to eat in one sitting, so he enjoyed a second meal at home. Our waiter was wonderful. Put up with dad's sass and stories...with a smile...and was most knowledgeable about the menu. LOVE this spot (as well as The Fig in Glen Ellen)!! Will return again and again........

Can't say it lived up to the hype. My fig and arugula salad was about 95% arugula. Nicely dressed, but not what I expected. My husband order his burger medium, it was gray inside. Not at all a bad experience, most of the food was quite good and the service was OK, just not something I'd rush to do again at that price point.

I was recommended here from a friend and it was great food and service. It's VERY busy however and reservations are a must and it's very crowded. If you don't like being very close to people then you may not enjoy. Also our table and the one next to us need to be repaired. (minor issues) Food was delicious however and our server was great and knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations.
