the girl & the fig - Sonoma
favorite for both locals and visitors to the area. With a seasonal menu featuring garden vegetables, herbs, and an
abundance of creativity, the rustic Provencal-inspired cuisine allows earth’s true and natural flavors to shine.
We have eaten at The Girl and the Fig three times in three days! I can’t say enough about this restaurant! The staff is delightful and the food is delicious! Highly recommend the croque madame for brunch!! Make sure you take home a bag of their chocolate chip cookies!🥰
Top ten on the west coast. A destination restaurant...
We stumbled upon this restaurant and had a wonderful meal. Jackie was our server and she was perfect. Would highly recommend The Girl and the Fig.
Terrific food and service.
Wonderful service, lovely spot in downtown sonoma. Had an amazing time.
The flounder was amazing!
The food was sublime, especially the halibut and the porter.house pork chop. Ashley was our server and she couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating. The outside patio is the best place to sit.
As always, The Girl and the Fig was a delightful place to have lunch with friends from out of town; it is unfailing in the quality of food, service, attention to detail, and offering a relaxed ambiance for conversation. I have never been disappointed on the many occasions I have been there for lunch, and highly recommend it to locals as well as visitors for a true Sonoma experience!
Fantastic service from Geoffrey on the back patio! Always the highest quality food and drink, in a lovely setting.
The food served was well prepared and server available to meet unanticipated needs. Very busy at lunch time mid week, be sure to make a reservation and allow time for parking and walk to restaurant.
Great food. No regrets! Menu is a bit fancy but there is something for everyone.
My wife and I were recommended to go here from some friends in the city. Service was top notch, everyone was so kind from the host to the servers. The food was amazing! My wife has the flounder which apparently is one of the more popular items to order. Dessert was so damn good! I had the creme brulee and my wife had the peach cobbler with ice cream. The place was full and lively, a really good vibe overall.
We felt rushed. As soon as we put a fork down or a glass down someone was rushing in to take it away. Someone was always watching us to see if we were done so they could swoop in and take our plates. The food was good but the experience was not up to par with the food. Too much emphasis on turning the table.
Great place. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary. Was not totally pleased with the location of our table. But, everything else was incredible. Very enjoyable experience.
We had a good experience but I did think the meal (set menu Halibut) was over salted and the fish a bit dryer that I would have liked. However, I must say The Peach Galette was to die for - it was covered with melting ice-cream and warm caramel sauce. Would go back just for that!
Nice place for a lazy Sunday when we had no plan. Were able to get in at 230 in the afternoon. Wine rec was not useful, but food excellent...esp the duck confit.
Fantastic food and service. Bartender was very knowledgeable about the wine and beer.
This was my first trip to Sonoma, and was told by a resident of San Francisco, The Girl & The Fig were a must. It definitely was and I’m so glad I didn’t miss the opportunity. This will be on my list the next time I visit and will recommend it to friends.
Always wanted to go to this restaurant. Had reunion with long-time friends and there were 6 of us. Loved everything about the visit.
This Restaurant came highly recommended by many friends. it did not disappoint. The four of us each had one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The bar area is noisy but we were lucky to sit outside and it was a beautiful night and all of us enjoyed the evening. would highly recommend
Service, food atmosphere all fantastic. What a great way to celebrate important occasions or just enjoy a wonderful evening with that special someone
My wife and I try to eat at Girl and the Fig every time we visit Sonoma. Consistently one of our favorite places in town to eat. Absolutely recommend the cured meats and cheeses.
Casual Date night? Yes. Special evening to celebrate? Probably better choices out there.
Excellent food in a pleasant atmosphere with attentive service.
Amazing outdoor dining experience. Main meal over cooked, but appetizer, salad and dessert were fabulous!
Great server! Great food!
Charming place and would plan to go back next time in Sonoma. The meal (lunch) was delightful; cooked expertly utilizing very fresh ingredients. It's a winner !
Wow!! Everything about the girl & the fig was perfect. From being seated on the patio out back (loved the ambiance) to the service (Geoffrey with a G) which was impeccable to the food which was superb - a truly top notch experience. If you like pate, you must order it here as it was one of the best things I’ve EVER eaten. And you must save room for dessert!
This restaurant is extremely charming and the food was delicious. Our server was not very friendly but the gentleman pouring our water and clearing our plates was very sweet. Definitely worth going to at least once but next time we are in Sonoma we will be trying another restaurant.
We always enjoy dining at The Girl & The Fig. The food and service are consistently wonderful. The menu changes to offer seasonal items. There is something for everyone on the menu. Even when the restaurant is full, the noise level remains low and conversations are possible without yelling.
We will continue to look forward to dining at The Girl & The Fig.
Always great. Always new. Always fun.
Our first course cheese and fruit platters were wonderful. The entrees had some issues. Pesto on the salmon was very salty. Crispy chicken thighs were supposed to have a "salsa" but it seemed just like pesto.
My drink came with a gnat in it. The first cheese platters we ordered came with meat which is not what we ordered. Staff was helpful and gracious and quickly corrected the problems. But there shouldn't be so many problems. However, eating on the patio on a warm summer evening was stupendous. That was worth everything!
I was so looking forward to dining once again at the girl and the fig. I brought my friends from the East Coast for them to enjoy a good meal in Sonoma square. Much to my disappointment, were we seated at a table directly outside of the
Women’s bathroom, even though there were two empty tables not reserved that could have accommodated us easily. Two of the four of us were very interested in the steam muscles which appeared on the menu outside at the very top of the menu. We arrived early for our reservation at 12 noon and was informed that there were no more muscles. My guess is they had not receive their muscles shipment. We regrouped and re-ordered. Two of the four orders contained french fries which were Just warm. When we brought that to the attention of the establishment they came out with another side of french fries that were also Luke warm, as was the burger that was served with one those orders.
Very disappointing. Our waitress however was charming and well informed. This will be my last time visiting the girl in the thick sadly.
Hello MargoS, Thank you very much for your feedback. I am very sorry that you had such a bad experience with us. We take this type of feedback very seriously and would love to make it up to you. Please contact me directly and we can discuss this further. Best Wishes, Jonathan jonathan@thegirlandthefig
My father and his sister were visiting from back east, and both are in their 80s. We had a delightful early lunch at the girl & the fig two days ago. Everything about this place charmed us - most importantly, the atmosphere, the service, and the food. The design is warm and inviting, the wait staff were knowledgeable, kind and thoughtful without exception. The food is delicious and thoughtfully prepared. All three of us enjoyed BLTs - I got mine without bacon but added avocado. It was sublime. The shoestring-style French fries were addicting even for the one who doesn't usually go in for fries. It was a lively place, but quiet enough for the two older folks to meaningfully participate in a conversation. Highly recommended.
The food and the ambiance was amazing!
Excellent food, well informed servers and manager oversight, quiet patio dining (but be prepared to share airspace with bugs).
Fun atmosphere. Very lively. My husband had the duck and thought it was tasty, portion size a little small.
If you haven't been here, go..Great eats after wine tastings.. Very reasonable considering what and where.. Everything was just right.. Throw a dart at the menu, cant miss a good dish..
The food we ordered was very good, but not up to the standards we had on our last visit to "the girl & the fig", and we ordered many of the same items. I will go back next summer and compare again. I know it is difficult for a well known restaurant to retain its top culinary talent.
